At some point in all our lives, money is going to be the driving force behind certain decisions we make, whether to be used as an olive branch to form alliances, bolster security or to ultimately purchase a shiny new building for you and your family, it's all going to come down to your bank balance. Along the way many people are going to come and go for whom there is no greater success than parting you with your hard earned dollars, you've no doubt heard the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted..." well I'm not so sure this still applies, these people are professionals, they slip and slide throughout our cities seducing each cent from our palms, it's become the norm in fact, with people irrationally offering anything they can for the merest forms of entertainment and self gratification. It should be up to each individual to judge for themselves what they are to do with their capital, and to not just follow the crowd and go with the safest of bets, in the not too distant future crime families will be springing up left, right and center and many will be looking for certain things, which don't include your loyalty and honour, but have more to do with what you can offer them in terms of finances and even just to have you make up the numbers, you'll become cash cows and drones, which can only lead to downfall. "The power to tax is the power to destroy" someone once said, in our line of business just how true is this? Diaries read of extortionist heads of family reaping high percentages of your rewards, ridiculously high in some cases, and then to the other extreme, leaders who would take the policy of no taxation whatsoever, where is the balance, what is the balance if any? Do you feel undermined when you have nothing to show at the end of the day, even though you made the effort or are you satisfied at the old clichthat if your boss is wealthy, you are also safer in the grand scheme of things, which lets face it, isn't true, as generally those in power will fall sooner rather than later no matter what, leaving you homeless, broke and unprotected. What's the limit? Would you speak out behind closed doors at what you deem unacceptable taxes? If in a position of power, would you feel justified to tax to extremes? Should each potential family have a business model planned? I'm interested to break bread and hear people's thoughts on this matter as it affects all of the community, positive experiences and bad. If you've enjoyed this, please feel inclined to forward $10 to my accountant, if not, $4.95 and a complaint will be accepted. |

I was just talking with an associate about money the other day. The conversation began with me saying why would someone pay a hefty sum for football tickets and leave the game after the second quarter. My associate simply said, "Don't ask don't care. Its their money." This got me thinking. About Capitalism mainly and how much of a marvel it represents. Things always work themselves out. If people don't want to pay those high prices or taxes they move or stop purchasing. Eventually the price will lower in order to sell or shoot up to try to cover loss of sales... Either way the consumer will get his way and only time is against him. Now because of this dynamic crews sould have a business plan in order to maximize profits or he will soon have no vistors to his city or soon hostile visitors in his city. Now to beat the system. Communism... Now if that doesn't make sense. I probabally just did write down what my brain was thinking. |

Well I would there are two business models... Number 1: The hated one but the safest to grand your income and that would be taxes. Setting high taxes will gain you pretty much money in a quite short period of time. But the bad thing about this is that the members might see no more sense in doing crimes because earner their OWN money is important for every one wether a thug or a Capo for example. Number 2: The more loved one but unsure for the income, this would be the donations model. Setting the taxes quite low and hoping for donations from the good earning members. But the problem there is that donations should be a quite high amount of money and also everybody would like to save their OWN money. So, in my opinion the best way would be a mixture of both but then again it's very hard to get enough money to keep a big family running and the members happy. So it would be a good thing for every family to have some businesses running besides the 'usual' income as on those are no taxes and the members have a job where they can earn extra money. Thanks, Candyman |

My question is what are the costs of running the family? What does all of the money go towards? |

The costs? When purchasing an HQ, you open up your own criminal organization to the world. You bring people in, and they pay tribute for the protection you supply them. The money goes to BGs and family financial outlets. |
