Which one and why? Or to hell with them both and why should we vote YOU into office? Yes, I know a lot of you dont live in the US, but that doesnt mean you cant have an opinion. |

Obama... McCain says that he is not a Bush follower but his policies do folllow Bush's. Do we really need another 4 years of Bush? He already messed up America. |

Arnold Schwartzenegger! Frankie's right. McCain is just Bush's 3rd term, however Obama's entire campaign is based on optimism and hope. He hopes that pulling out of Iraq will cause the flowers to bloom and rainbows to appear. He HOPES that repealing federal gas taxes for 3 months will fix that issue as well. No matter how slick a talker he is...hope aint going to fix squat. Id like to see him make VP behind Clinton (Bill, not Hillary) and then I'd vote for him to be pres after some real experience in the whitehouse. *sigh* I hate to do it, but I'll probably go with McCain too. Ok, Mr Niccolo...would you rather be poisoned to death with a potassium injection or cyanide? |

I agree that Obama thinks of himself too highly. KingKobra, last I checked the Democrats are the ones standing in the way of off-shore drilling that would reduce gas prices. I can't remember the last time I liked someone running for President. I believe they are all idiots and never come through on their promises. I vote for neither as I will not be voting. Call me un-American, I could just couldn't care less who wins because I know they will both be terrible. As for the war thing, if you do a rapid pull out, more soldiers will get killed than if we stay (don't argue, because you people haven't been in and studied the military). The fact is that we can't get all the soldiers out at once, and once we get many out, the fedeyeen and so on will come out of the wordwork and launch as full scale assault on our depleted troops. |

As of right now I am leaning towards voting for Obama over McCain. I don't think of it as ' I vote for whoever the Democratic nominee is.' but that's just been my voting pattern thus far based on the individual not party affiliation. I will have to admit that reporting for this election has been somewhat entertaining. All the trash talking, and histories of each nominee are constantly being brought up. My personal favorite is McCain being called out for calling his wife The 'C' word in public even though it was in 1992. |

Digging up the past in every presidential election is funny. If they had audio of any of the candidates saying a naughty word they would try and use it against them...even if they said it in kindergarten. I would love to hear a recording of a 6 year old McCain calling someone a twat. |

| I voted Obama in the primary, but one thing I like about McCain is that he's promised not to issue any signing statements. Bush has issued more signing statements than all the other presidents in history put together. If you don't know, here's the definition of a signing statement: "If the President may properly decline to enforce a law, at least when it unconstitutionally encroaches on his powers, then it arguably follows that he may properly announce to Congress and to the public that he will not enforce a provision of an enactment he is signing. If so, then a signing statement that challenges what the President determines to be an unconstitutional encroachment on his power, or that announces the President's unwillingness to enforce (or willingness to litigate) such a provision, can be a valid and reasonable exercise of Presidential authority." In other words, if he thinks that part of a law, that congress has passed, encroaches on his authority to act as commander in chief, then he can issue a statement saying he doesn't intend to enforce or obey this law. Basically, our current leader has used it as a sort of line-item-veto. | |

I've visited some countries where it's not a right... really hammers home how important it is. (See Zimbabwe now) If I were an American now, I'd be breathing a huge sigh and voting Obama. Bush has proven himself to be incompetant, McCain is Bush lite. Some of the statements he's made about "not really knowing much about economics" genuinely scare me, and I'm 5000 miles away. Sure, he's got a good military background, and knows the political system inside and out - but this guy is going to have a massive impact on the global economy... and he admits not really knowing what he's talking about. That's worrying to me. Obama seems to be a US version of our Cameron - a pretty poster boy without any strong convictions about anything until a poll tells him he should. Is this what the US Presidency should be reduced to? I am all for following the will of the people - but these days the will of the people is little more than the will of the media corporations. I would have liked to see Ron Paul getting a better shot, but alas, in the real world he's out of it. I think VP choice will be crucial for both parties, though, the job has been sidelined so much of late, I'm not sure how much weight it carries with the voters. |

Ron Paul would have been good. Honestly I liked Romney at first, but no chance of that either. My first pick of all would have been Huckabee though. Has anyone seen the crap they are digging up on the candidates WIVES!? News stations (as seen on The Daily Show) were ripping on Michelle Obama for getting a "fist bump" on the view. Saying it was "perpetuating stereotypes". They were also complaining that Cindy McCain submitted a recipie for Oatmeal Butterscotch that was "eerily similar to a published recipie from Nestlie". God, I hate American politics. Because GOD KNOWS that Cindy McCains, possibly, plagerized cookie recipie could have DIRE reprocussions on Mideast Policy. I take that back, American policics are rediculous, yes, but I should have said "God, I hate American news". Thank Jebus for The Daily Show! |
