Was It All Worth It? Started by: SammyGarcini on Feb 16, '12 19:07

Indeed Marston if we want to throw stones i have plenty it was one RULE for everyone else and Chicago could do as they pleased funny how we remove a city full of TYRANTS and ourselves get branded with that tag boggles the mind really

Report Post Tip

Let me ask you something would Chicago have stood for all the nonsense if the boot was on the other foot? absolutely not they would have waded in all guns blazing as they did many a time before, the fact of the matter is you continually fuck up shit goes down the loss of life is unfortunate but hey this is not kindergarten this is the mafia.

Report Post Tip

I think we can all agree that the Chicago that was destroyed 2 days ago and the Chicago that removed -Grizzly- were two seperate beasts. A lot of people hold this grudge against Chicago for as long as I could remember. My father set up shop in Chicago not because he was a fan of tyranny and control but because he was looking for work in a stable city. This stability can change in a second flat. A gun malfunction, a woman with morals she felt were worth dying for & a weak old man tired of this way of life greatly changed the face of Chicago. In its final days, Chicago was a humble city with a little leftover attitude from its powerhouse days. Is confidence and strength a reason to destroy a city? I do not particularly agree with 100% of the reasons that Chicago was destroyed but I can see both sides of the fence. My father worked directly as a left hand man to Slab. That man was about nothing but decency, honor, family & loyalty. I never once in all my father's journals read about him speaking about destroying and taking down other leaders or building control. They had a humble crew based on humble beliefs. Slab's father was quintessential in the takedown of Godfather Roman and his empire and stood strongly against tyranny. Yet is now being labeled as a tyrant? Monet was a kind old soul and although I cannot speak personally on her behalf from my close work with her - I rarely saw her quick to turn to war or takedowns as an answer to problems. To say that compensation isn't accept in our way of life is not true whatsoever. My father on accident during the takedown of Batman took down a member of another Detroit crew seconds after the inital wave and then paid a HEFTY sum on his own accord to the crew leader in which that member joined. An official statement had not been released allowing unsponsored members to find new homes and no protection order had been posted yet in a true honorable fashion, my father decided to take it upon himself to contact the crew leader and pay for what should've been an initial target. Things happen.. Chicago is burnt to the ground. We lost some amazing people out there and my father's time with them will never be looked at in vain. I bear no ill feelings towards New York or New Orleans for their move because they acted in what they felt was the best interest of this thing of ours - something that any man can commend. EveValon died firing at my father's city leader because she felt she wasn't a suitable city head. Although I disagreed greatly with her course of action - I greatly respected her for her solid and firm dedication to her belief and values. A wise man once told me, "There are 3 sides to every story. His side, her side & the truth." You need to always accept the fact that death is inevitable in this way of life. Did my father deserve to die? Yes. Why? Not because he committed any of the said acts that warranted the takedown - but because that is the oath he signed. To die for the city that put their arm around him and gave him a place to prosper. I will die for my city.

My father once told Consigliere Slab in a coffee shop when discussing his role as a left hand man, "My job is to work hard for this crew and die for it."

He died for it. I will die for it. You will die for it. Stamina will die for it.

If you do not.. where is your honor? Without your honor... where are you?

Sammy looks at Chris at smiles.

"I think you need to calm down a bit. As I have already said, I am not here to take sides, whether you chose to believe me or not, I couldn't care, again, think what you will. People will always think what they want, regardless of what they actually know. at the end of the day, you, Marston, ProdigalSun, myself or anybody else here, does in know way know they full story of what when in in Chicago. For you now to call them tyrants, is well, laughable. However, again, think what you want."

Sammy turns to Marston.

"Again, not knowing the full story can make you look a fool in public. It seems as though that has happened agin. When the Chicago Boss in question looked at the member he wrongfully shot, they were part of no organisation. As we all know, it only takes a second to accept an invite, and this is what happened, between taking a look at said member, and pulling the trigger, the member had accepted an invite and joined a family.

"I won't go into details of how things were dealt with between the cities, as much as I'd like to, as it would sort a fair few things out that people seem to be confused with, I do not wish to disclose the full contents of my fathers journal."

Sammy shakes ProdigulSun's hand.

"I know our fathers worked together in Chicago, amd I realise that only select people actually know the truth of what went down. You have to just let these people think what they want though, no matter how much you try to make them see the truth, they are blinded by what their superiors have told them. In some ways, it's rather sad."

Report Post Tip

Yes not knowing the full story can make you look like a complete fool...

So as the Left Hand Man of the crew, and the person who offered the associate the invite, I'd say I was pretty fucking well informed. In addition, that member was sponsored long enough to exchange several messages between himself and me before he was gunned down...

Report Post Tip

The city is guilty of infractions against the community, so that was the immediate cause of death after the piece of led of course. It's business and trying to spin it any other way is simply wrong.

"& a weak old man tired of this way of life greatly changed the face of Chicago."

That weak old man did more for CH than you did... People retire, that doesn't make them weak.  I spoke to Don Hut once and formed a good opinion of him, you really should watch what you say in the streets, because I guarantee there are others much more offended by that statement.

Report Post Tip

Sammy smiles at Marston.

"Yet you are no longer there Marston, why is that exactly? After all is said and done, we can both only go off of what we are told, there will of course be fabrications of the truth that are told to some parties. If I have been dealt these fabrications, so be it, I aplogise for thinking otherwise.

"However, how are we to know you are not fabricating the truth as you speak in these streets? I mean no disrespect by this, but it's very possible, given what people will do to hold face. I am not trying to create myself a scapegoat here either, if I am in the wrong, then I am in the wrong."

Report Post Tip

Sammy looks over to WhereWasI.

"I don't think ProdigalSun meant any disrespect with that statement, I don't think he meant weak in the sense of how much power he had, or how much of a strong leader PizzaTheHut was. However, I cannot speak on his behalf, he can fight his own battles. In my opinion, when someone is at the point of retiring in our life, they are weak and old, hence the reason of they retirement."

Report Post Tip

WhereWasI, while I can honestly respect the man for his duty to our city. You also need to understand my perspective. The man chose to run an earnings contest and snatched up $35,000,000 from my father and then retired. When his son returned and was questioned by my father he simply told him, "It's gone pal". The money was never given to the city. It's a complete shame that man of such legendary status left such a bad taste in a lot of Chicago folk's mouths. Although silent, the anger towards this move was greatly prevelant among all members of Don Hut's crew. When my father and others approached him asking what the money was for - he responded that all tributes are well appreciated and that will be used towards hiring new protection and taking care of the city. Then the man took the money and disapeared with no trace of the money throughout Chicago.

Trust and believe when I said that - it was not a slight at this man's achievements and honor - but a comment towards his moral downfall at his retirement. The silent kidney shot we all received as well as leaving our city in turmoil. We were notified seconds before pressing the retire button.

As to Marston, I apologize but my father heard differently from the said crew leader. If I am wrong then I am wrong. Mistakes were made. Just trying to say that compensation is greatly accepted in this thing of ours.

Report Post Tip

Not that it's any of your business or anything to do with this discussion, but when I arrived on these shores I was unaware of any contest going on in Las Vegas, upon finding out about it I informed my crew leader that it wasn't something I wanted to be part of, he understood my decision and allowed me to leave.

What reason would I have to fabricate anything, I'm not being judged... However, the offender at the time was being judged so he is not likely to tell you that he didn't check his target's employment situation before he pulled that trigger, unless he did have a death wish.

Yes I am aware mistakes are made, that is why my crew leader at the time insisted that no blood needed to be spilled over it. It was the fact that after being giving this benefit of the doubt, that the Chicago leadership tried a bullish approach to fob the crew leader of with what I can only describe as a bus fare. That was appalling, especially after his display of good will...

Report Post Tip

The war is now over, there is nothing we can do. The lives lost cannot be brought back. We have to continue on.

Chicago will rise to its prominence again, but until then, we can only wait.

Report Post Tip

Sammy nods to Marston.

"No, it wasn't any of my business, but if we all stuck to our own business and never asked questions, this would be a very boring place. I do thank you for telling me though, and that was a more than acceptable reason to leave the city. Although overall, I don't agree with anyone leaving the family they have joined, without being granted their own family, or RHM responsibilities of a new family.

"You have your opinion, I have mine. Although I am unaware of the sum of money that Chicago paid, I will trust that it was a small amount, if you say it was."

Sammy then turns to Kanye.

"Very well said Kanye, there is nothing we can do but wait. If a discussion of this nature wasn't bought to the streets when a big event such as the last war happened though. The streets would be very dull and uninteresting, don't you think?"

ProdigalSun puts his arm around SammyGarcini

Well said, well said.. in honor of our fathers... lets go piss on their graves. Maybe we can dig up my dad's old lottery winnings...

Report Post Tip

I was not planning on commenting on this exchange, but I think people have done enough accusing of "that's not what really happened" that I should step in and explain the full story...

A little over two weeks ago, my dearly departed Granny EveValon told me of an argument she had with the leaders of Chicago. An accident had occured, which was partially my granny's fault. A man from Las Vegas was left dead. Since she was a leader of the city of Chicago, and since she shared a part of the blame for the incident in question, having notified one of the family hitters about an upsponsored gangster running the streets, she spoke to the Las Vegas leadership, to apologize and offer compensation for the unfortunate tragedy.

After making arrangements to compensate for the crime, she was approached by both Monet and Raptor, informing her that they did not appreciate her making an offer of compensation over the hit, even when she offered to foot the bill, she was told that they may not have made any offer at all. Raptor told her that as members of Chicago, and one of the strongest cities at the time, we had a right to take as much as we could, and give as little as we could get away with.

Not only had what was actually a Consigliere in Monet's family shot and killed one of my associates but they probably would've just hidden the fact had I never found a witness statement. That's not particularly honourable behaviour, especially as head of the city he was the one supposed to be setting the example to the rest of the city. Had it not been for EveValon I probably would've never known what had happened to my associate. Eve offered me compensation in the hopes that the Consigliere's life would be spared, the way I saw it was that she had come to me rather than making me wait to find a witness statement - I greatly respected that move and obliged. She said she would speak to Monet and sort it.

At this point I was happy. The problem was sorted as far as I knew. Then I received a very blunt, almost rude, message from Slab asking about the situation. I replied, showing him the conversation I had had with EveValon. He then proceeded to completely ignore me.

This was fine, I assumed he would talk to Monet as well as Eve and it would be sorted. I will admit it was a little annoying that he didn't reply, but a reply was not particularly needed. I then waited for quite a while, I could see that both Monet and Raptor were awake and doing business as usual, I gave them quite a bit of time to come to me. Four hours later though, I decided that I wasn't going to wait anymore and proceeded to speak with Monet in the coffee shops.

We spoke about what had happened, and eventually after nothing was suggested by Monet I broached the subject of compensation which EveValon had agreed with me. She then said "right, one second", got up and walked elsewhere in the coffee shops and didn't speak to me again. I was then approached by Raptor in the coffee shops, who told me that he was going to offer a paltry amount (valuing less than one credit) and that it didn't matter that a Consigliere had made the mistake because he had killed someone of little worth.

Now, I don't know about any of you but to me the rank of the person making the mistake is a pretty big thing. Either way, he made it abundantly clear he would be offering nothing more.

Just as Raptor sent over the compensation, my accountant informed me that EveValon had sent compensation at the same time as she had just gotten back from some business and realised that I had not been paid for almost five hours after the event. I sent Raptor's back to him and informed him that Eve had already paid, which he ignored.

At the end of the day, one of my members was killed and I was compensated for it. That is not the issue I had with the exchange. The fact that I had to chase them for the compensation, and being told that my member was worthless, and his life being even less valuable than the targets we pay to kill? That did not sit right with me.

I hope that clears up any uncertainties anybody had.

"Yet you are no longer there Marston, why is that exactly? After all is said and done, we can both only go off of what we are told, there will of course be fabrications of the truth that are told to some parties. If I have been dealt these fabrications, so be it, I aplogise for thinking otherwise.

You are in the wrong. My granny of course also told me about this incident, as it is one of the issues that directly led to her attack on Monet shortly before her death.  She spied this unsponsored gangster working around the corner from her, and the sent a message to a friend to have the man removed.  She sent a second correspondence moments later to let her friend know that he had been picked up by Las Vegas, but by the time she finally received a reply, the shot had already been taken.  There was probably enough time to take in the sponsorship and correct this, had her friend not been trying to shoot with a strange electronic devise instead of his gun.

Mstakes happen, but this is a case of murder, that could have been avoided.  The real issue is not this mistake, in my opinion, it is in the palty excuse for compensation.  EveValon was accused of "forcing" Monet and Raptor to agree to compensation.  The clear implication to her was that they intended to send nothing, as apparently the life of a gangster from Las Vegas was beneath their notice.  Add the compensation with no punishment, and the issue that should have been a correction of a tragic mistake, is a fine example of the arrogance that led to their downfall.

In coffee shops you and I have recently argued about my granny's actions against Monet, but at no time have you ever even asked why.  You haven't cared to do that research, and instead simply claim to know what you know and that is that.  You said earlier that people make themselves look a fool when they speak without knowing what they are talking about.  It might be time for you to take some of this advice.

"Although, I do agree that force and the threat of force does work, sometimes. Other times, it just pisses off the victimes next of kin to the point where they won't take it lightly, and in the future, you could have a problem on your hands. As was seen when Jonnie_Reece rose up to take down the reign of CP. You may say that's a poor example, but think what you will."

I imagine the leaders of your city will keep an extra special eye on you going forwards.

I guess we will both disagree, to me fines and compensation are totally different things.

Sammy sniggers, and turns to Romeo.

"Maybe you also have a problem with distinguishing between a hypothetical statement, and one that is a threat. If that was really my plan, I wouldn't be out here shouting it out, and also making the effort to bring a discussion to the streets. One would think I would be more focussed on my training, rather than my presence in these streets.

"Things can be very misconstrued when taken out of context, I ask you to try not to twist my words into meaning something they didn't in the slightest."

Sammy turns to jeff3829.

"Well wouldn't that be a perfect world? Unfortunately this is the mafia and that kind of world isn't at all possible"
