Boot to the streets, Permanent History Started by: Severe on Feb 20, '12 04:38

Allowance of Crew Leaders to boot a wise guy or below ranked crew member to the streets to be given a -48 tag and the chance of 48 hours to find a new crew/city to join. This can be used for any reason but mostly for people who are slacking and you want to make room for better players.

Permanent crew history showing on those booted from crews, aswell as people who had their CL die, or if they leave a crew with or without permission. Helps with people having an already idea for those with fallen Crewleaders which crew they were in before along with helps not abuse the boot from streets for any reasons people may find.

This is a particularly harsh approach. I understand the premise and logic behind it but do not feel it is warranted.

To begin with, how you make a determination as to a player's "slacker" status.

Furthermore a lot of players here have full time jobs, schooling or other commitements that have to be balanced. There are also a variety of reasons for why people play this game, not everyone is here to be a petty/felony/drug dealing machine and the time spent logged in shows that.

With regards to family/crew members who take long sleeps and the leader has no reason to believe they are coming back, well the obits tell us what happened to them. But brandishing someone a slacker and cutting them loose? Never

Report Post Tip

It is in the aspect of players who just completely do not even try. Nobody with a 50 man crew wants to hold on to a guy who has 20 units in  1 month or even under 20 units in 1 month. I have no problem with the people who play for fun and they get lets say 25 units in 1 month they cannot all be as active but atleast they play. That is not a slacker to me as they all play a different way and for some 25 units in 1 month and lets say 2mil earning is a very good job for them. I am referring to the players who log in 1 hour every 4 days and do absolutely nothing.

Report Post Tip

I do understand what you are saying but this is just not how the game works, crewleaders need numbers and cutting people loose to float around ... you might aswell just sentence them to death and shoot them rather than cutting them.

There is always a reason for why people log on only sporadically. Take me for example, in the past my real world responsibilities left me with no time for MR. I was pretty much inactive only logging in once in a while to do the occasional drug deal and to catch up with friends. Should my crewleader boot me out?

As i already stressed, people play the game for different reasons. Want incentive is there for those who want to play but cannot commit the hours if they are just going to be hung out to dry? That is not what the game is about.

Report Post Tip

I see your point, I really do. However like for you if you could not get on you can always send your CL a message talk to them and tell them what is going on and it is no problem. However every crew does have those 3-4 people if not more that when that spot comes down to it and you have a good recruit that you need to make room and killing them is a bit harsh. Everybody does play at their own pace and level but with a 50 member maximum crew you need an alternative to make room even if its just 1 or 2 spots and sometimes killing them is just too harsh.

Report Post Tip

Simple solution to what you just said, crewleaders should preferably recruit quality over quantity ...

Report Post Tip

Yea but sometimes its hard to see quality out of certain people, when you are a new crew just starting out and you are trying to get the best recruits you can maybe lets say you recruit 30 people out of those 30 people 3-4 of them could be bad players and then when you hit 50 you need spots. Everybody deserves a fair chance no matter how bad they may be. However when you find out how bad some of them may be you need an alternative then just killing them.

Report Post Tip

Crewleaders need numbers, numbers provide money and security. Again, I stress the solution, quality over quantity. If a crewleader decides to cut weight from his crew, then he should remove the inactives ..Why would anyone want to join a crew with the knowledge that if they are deemed worthy, they will be hung out to dry?

Everyone has the right to choose how much time they spend on this site, this is not a career and the time they contribute should not be dictated too. Like I said earlier, many of us have committments in life that far outweight spending all day sitting in front of a comp playing MR, as much as we would all like to, its just not feasible for a lot of players.

If a crewleader wants to cut members because he does not deem them worthy ... that is his choice to make and I have yet to see a crewleader in all my time playing MR (over 8 years, including old .org) ever do that, and there is a pretty obvious reason for why crewleaders do not do that.

Report Post Tip

So what would change then? To have an alternative method for the 2 people every month who may get booted out of a crew what does it hurt? Its not like I am saying to put it in to kick people for no life players to join in. However every crew does have those 2 players in it who log on but do nothing, even the people who play 2 hours a day log in and do petties and stuff but some log in do nothing you believe it is right to just kill them off? I feel it would be better to be able to boot them out for another crew maybe in the city or a newer crew to be able to pick them up like a newly authed crew that needs more people. Also those inactives are the first people who die but long living crews may be full to numbers but have no inactives left just those 1-2 people who either get on every week just so it looks like they are active these are the people I am talking about for an alternative method. Killing them is too harsh letting them find a new home is the good alternative. But like I said I see your point that is why I talked about having a wise guy or under limit to who can be kicked so the people who are put into the actual crew as made man which is to be seen as taking away them being sponsored and put into the real family. This will cause the choosing of Made Man to be more strict as if you put somebody to Made Man who decides to slack off after and not do anything except log in 3 minutes a day you cannot do anything. Kicking would be strictly to wise guy's and under this being a way to get rid of a sponsored player with no potential.

Report Post Tip

Crewleaders already can boot out people they dont want in their crew, why afford those deemed not to be a crew asset any protection?

Report Post Tip

Should those who support the game by creating an account and logging in and playing as much as they can really be punished like that for their lack of activity?

Will repeat what i just said, a crewleader can boot out whoever he wants. As for your comment about Made Man, I can happily raise a common problem in this game, the lack of prestige and respect for the rank of Made Man. Until we see the days where Made meant something, it should not be held as a benchmark.

If you do not think the rank of Made has been downgraded, look around you

Report Post Tip

Oh no I am fully with you there, the easily promotion of a Made Man is just horrible thats another thing that goes along with this suggestion here is that the CL can only boot out those that are basically sponsored. I do not feel that if you promote a guy to Made Man and then he starts deciding not to tribute and not play then your stuck with him. Would you feel that this suggestion would be better if it is the sponsors choice to boot them back to the street? This would implement really the same kind of feature and at the same time maybe make being given sponsorship more of a deserving reward then a Hey your a sponsor go recruit.

Report Post Tip

I do agree that sponsors should be able to drop associates, I will give you that much!!

Report Post Tip

Alright well that is basically the same thing as I am trying to suggest above so that would make much more sense. Thanks for the opinions Jake
