The following scenarios are currently being tested to obtain data for future modifications of math in the game. No further details are being provided at this time. Once enough data gets obtained and math looked at, we will give full disclosure before it goes live with specifics on which was chosen to be included and in what capacity.
Scenarios that give the entire family boosts: Any family whose petty activity is greater than the average petty activity against other families gets a scaling buff. Any family whose felony activity is greater than the average felony activity against other families gets a scaling buff. Any family whose jail activity is greater than the average jail activity against other families gets a scaling buff. Any family whose posting activity is greater than the average posting activity against other families gets a scaling buff. Any family whose forum reading activity is greater than the average forum reading activity against other families gets a scaling buff. Any family whose pickpocket/grave rob activity is greater than the average pickpocket/grave rob activity against other families gets a scaling buff. Any family whose Rogue/Roguette/RAT activity is greater than the average Rogue/Roguette/RAT activity gets a scaling buff. Any family whose RIA/RRIA/IA/MIA activity is greater than the average RIA/RRIA/IA/MIA activity gets a scaling buff. Any family whose Durden Raid activity is greater than the average Durden Raid activity against other families gets a scaling buff. Any family whose hustle activity is greater than the average hustle activity against other families gets a scaling buff.
Scenarios that give HQ buffs: Any family whose CL/RHM/LHM's combined activity are more than 150% the average of other combined uppers for the above stats gets a scaling buff
Scenarios that give HQ debuffs: Any family whose CL/RHM/LHM's combined activity is less than 50% the average of other combined uppers for the above stats gets a scaling debuff |

Interesting, limited information as to the exact mechanics and what exactly the scaling buff will effect (affect? always get confused which is the correct usage), but seems like a legit change which "might" encourage people to utilise ALL the features in the game as opposed to just gunning for +1's.
Certainly interested to hear more as things move forward..... |

Rewarding activity and punishing inactivity is always good for any game, but I am not certain I understand the "scaling buff" part. As you said, math is not mathing still, but is there anything that can be shared? |

Think of it as a prowess of 100% for particular situation, that would be the average. If you are coming in at 101%, you will get somewhat of a buff. If you come in at 122% you will get more of a buff. What you get out of it scales larger as the difference between your average versus another crews average increases.
As far as what the buffs are, every week each scenario will get a random buff assigned to it. You may get a tad more xp, a tad more skill, a tad better pricing, a tad better odds, a tad better....whatever. |
