I'd go with The Corleone Family from The Godfather because they are iconic and powerful fictional mob families. Here are three reasons why I'd consider joining them:

1. Loyalty & Family-Oriented Culture – Unlike many other crime families that betray their own, the Corleones prioritize family above all else. If you prove your loyalty, you're protected and treated like one of their own.

2. Strategic & Business-Minded Operations – The Corleones don't rely on brute force; they play the long game with careful negotiations, political connections, and strategic power moves. Working under them would be more than just crime—it would be about influence, legacy, and financial security.

3. Respect & Honor Code – Unlike other ruthless organizations, the Corleones operate with a certain code of ethics. They don't make reckless moves and believe in handling things with respect before resorting to violence.

Would you join, or do you have another mob family in mind?

The problem I have with the idea of joining a mob family is that early on, when they weren't yet truly irredeemable they were very much a cult of personality. This in turn engenders a cult like environment which has its own multitude of pitfalls. Later, when the family turns away from community protection and outreach and more towards money making ventures at the expense of their communities they are no longer the group that I would have signed on with. 

So, sadly, I would have to choose to avoid becoming a member of a family.

I have to agree with the posts above, let's take some examples.

• Goodfellas, all good, money, women, power, no actual job, do whatever, get shitload of cash, then people start dying, paranoia, you get caught - family goes hungry and at the very end, you get 2-3k dollars and the "family" turn your back on you. Nothing personal, just business.
• Irishman - All fun and games, but takes you away from your real family and you die in some elderly home, alone on Xmas, all of your friends are dead.
• The Godfather, basically, everyone around you died... and you killed your own family as well

I mean, in the end, it is all business and if business goes bad, heads will roll :( so yeah, no thanks. Rather decent live, but peaceful :)

I would join a WH40k chapter, Space Crusading is at least fun.
