Evelyn was about to crack a joke about needing a really big map even she suddenly remembered something from one of the newspapers she'd come across at the library. She looked up at him with a quizzical eyebrow raised.

"Hey, is it true that you own a movie studio? The one that produced 'Black River Bandit' last year? I don't know enough about Los Angeles to even know where to start as far as exploring, but seeing a movie studio seems like a pretty neat thing to do."

Billy tilted his head non-commitally at the quetsion.

"That one is in a bit of a grey area. Lawyers are still looking things over, as there is a man here who goes by Joe Ligambi. He financed it originally, and then gifted it to hie wife. I worked for them for a while before I set out on my own. Made a name for myself working for her at the studio. When she died, with twins in her belly mind you, which really fuckin took everyone for a loop, she left it to me in her will. But, because all the money came from him, and because he's a well known figure, as far as anyone knows, it's still his."

He spread his hands in a gesture of defeat.

"Sometimes, that's the way these things go. Especially when you get lawyers involved. ALl they like to do is bill you for their time and tell you they've been negotiating. I think they all just go out and get steak dinners and drinks on my dime, but I haven't caught them at it yet, so... they live another day."

He laughed a bit at the last part. If he ever did catch one of them, they were fucked, but for the most part, they were just expensive that's all.

"But on the day-to-day, my associate Dynamite runs the place mostly. That and a hotel in the city, a really nice one in fact. If you want to start there, we can get in touch with him and see if he can tour you around?"

Billy wasn't trying to pawn Evie off on anyone, but he also didn't want to step on Dynamite's toes. The guy was doing damned good work, and he didn't want to piss him off, nor did he really know the palce like he used to, so Dynamite really was the right person for the job in this instance.

Evelyn laughed a bit as well.

"Jesus, you could make a movie out of that by itself. But sure, that sounds great, if he's not too busy."

Before she could catch herself, a deep yarn overtook her and she turned her head until it was done.

"But maybe tomorrow, or the day after? I think I could close my eyes and sleep for a week."

She looked around and smiled a little sleepily before glancing back at Billy.

"I know you've got a lot on your plate, but if you've got some time to catch up with an old friend, I'd love to hear what adventures you've been up to."

"If you're tired, how about..."

Billy shook his head as he yawned in return, the natural progression of a yawn as it escapes one person is to of course, cause everyone else to follow suit.

"Sorry, how about we get you to the house and get you settled in first. If there's anything in that duffel bag you want to keep we'll go pick it up. If not? Forget about it, I'm taking you shopping as soon as you wake up from your nape so you'll have a whole new set of clothes to slip into."

Without asking for another word, Billy stood, and grabbed his keys from the desk drawer, replacing the gun there while he did so.

"You ever learn to drive by the way? I could let you drive if you wanted. I only have the Cadillac out today, so it's nothing fancy."

Standing when Billy did, Evelyn got her bag and threw the strap over her shoulder.

"Geez, Billy, you sure know how to talk to a girl. A nap and a shopping trip? I'm not sure I could say no that even if I wanted to."

Pausing, she did a quick inventory of everything she'd stuffed into the bag when she left. It wasn't anything that couldn't be replaced. The most important things she owned were in her purse.

"The bag in the locker- maybe it should just disappear. Actually, it might be best if it were to, I don't know, burst into flames in a barrel until it was nothing but unrecognizable ashes?"

She gave a sheepish grin.

"There are some dirty clothes and, um, hardware in there. I was afraid to leave them behind."

Looking at the keys, she shook her head.

"I've been a subway and bus girl all my life. I learned to ride a bike, but that's about it."
