Nido D'uccello, a cozy little Italian joint tucked between a liquor store and the entrance to Owl's apartment. The place was mostly know for two things, their homemade marinara and it's owners respect for discretion.

Owl had been a regular long enough to earn himself a good relationship with the staff. They where most grateful for a few favors he had handle off the books, and never asked any questions when he started using one of their vacant storage rooms as a makeshift office.

The backroom was dimly lit by a single lightbulb hanging form the ceiling and was neatly organized with an old table, a couple of mismatched chairs, and a filing cabinet that hadn't held any actual documents in years. The air was thick with cigar smoke, mixed with the sweet scent of garlic and simmering tomato sauce drifting in from the kitchen. It wasn't much, but it was enough to get the job done.

Tonight, seated at his desk, he flipped through his small black notebook, it's pages filled with names, numbers, and depts owed. Across from him sat his trusted bodyguard Hawk, eagerly awaiting command. Owl leaned forward, eyes shining behind his glasses as they caught light form the overhead fixture.

"You ever notice how some people get jammed up, and yet, somehow, things just.. go away?", he said mysteriously, resting his glass of whiskey on the table, the ice now long since melted.

"Cases get lost, evidence disappears and cops seem to forget how to do their job", Owl continued.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a plain white envelope, sliding it over to Hawk, "That ain't luck my friend, that's business".
