*William clears his throat and steps out in front of adoring fans. If they weren't adoring, he was sure Jonnie would make them adoring... by brute force. He cleared his throat to begin. He is interrupted temporarily as Jonnie revs his tank engine at the mention of his name. William cocks a brow and continues.* As many of you know, starting Friday at 16:00, the race for Chicago begins. This message pertains especially to the participants. Part of the rules stipulate that you can only bring a RHM with you to create your family. But do not despair. Help is on the way. On Friday, the boats are coming in from Europe with fresh talent (OOC: Advertising will be turned on). This should help fill the headquarters of people in the competition. That being said... I know past regimes have frowned on leaders or right hands contacting new blood... But that's why they're the past regime, and we are the future. It is with the agreement of all the city heads that anyone partaking in the Chicago contest will be allowed to contact new faces. It is up to you how you approach them and how you utilize them. We feel though, that since the upcoming Chicago leadership will only be allotted 10 members they will take it upon themselves to mold new members into valuable assets for their families. I know, detractors might say this is member whoring. It is time to break the chains of outdated rules that have held us all captive for so long. Allow me to fill you all in on something, it is only member whoring if those crew members don't amount to anything. I believe that the potential leaders in Chicago will want quality as they certainly can't afford quantity, and this will drive them to better their crews, and in doing so, themselves. We are now affording these gangs opportunities that the established families have not had. We hope they make the most of it. To help with breaking in the new people in the most simplistic manner we are attaching the ever-handy New Civilian Survival guidebook penned by one of Evelyn's ancestors. That should get them well on their way to establishing themselves, and we hope the leaders utilize this tool efficiently. *William signals for a few goombas to pass out copies of the book to gathered listeners.* ALSO, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT: Most of you have not registered your crews with Jonnie yet. That needs to be done by TONIGHT at 22:00, or else you will not be allowed to set up a family in Chicago. Your notification to Jonnie should include that you have gotten your leader's permission to enter, and the name of your prospective RHM. DO NOT have your future right hands contact Jonnie, the only time we should see their name is in your intent to participate letter. Thank you, and good luck to all of you who are participating. |

| As the boats full of fresh faces will be arriving, I do implore prospective leaders to regard Johnnie's warnings and have a velvet glove as well as an iron fist, it just wouldn't do to drive mobsters away by killing indiscriminately in a situation where diplomacy would suffice. | |

It will be good to see the new mafioso come to our world. I believe the families that set up will take proper care of them, as they are in the public eye when this all starts, and every family will be judged by the others. We cant be afraid to approach someone and teach them the ropes, but we must be careful as to not ruin the 'breaking in' period that every new mafioso goes through... we all made mistakes and we all had family that did crazy things and we must remember most mafioso will at one point. Good luck to all who brave the contest and set up in the Windy City. |

I have to say the whole idea of them being alowed to contact new members and basicaly train them to be real mafiosos is an absolut great idea which I am sure will encourage nothing but growth and respect on out streets. I admit at first this idea seemed like all the others before which just lead to the best gun living but now I see there has been alot more thought about the prospects of the game and indeed chicagos future, I take off my hats to all the current leaders for being invovled in this. | Mr_Corleone, unfortunately there are several areas in our streets that details of the competition have been scattered around in, which has to people like yourself caused this kind of questioning. However, Sir withing hours of the competition beginning, we all received a letter from Mr Reese's EHM announcing that we could now go up to a 15 man hq. | |

| The contest is closely moitored. There have only been minor sangs and problems. Everything else is going quite smooth. | |
