Is there truly a purge that has been happening?

I have returned to see there were recent murders once again from the same names of which likely struggle with paranoia. Perhaps it might be this society has developed and the mafia has evolved to a purge like system. People grow trusting of these same leaders that wish to remain at the top and think they are part of the “elite” only to be “unalived” because the true elite feels threatened.

which leads us to say - that’s a fair reason for murder. 

if any person who leads there city feels threatened, that their good is threatened they should have that freedom to act first. This is self defense. The very right to protect what endangers them. So then it’s a purge only out of preservation of care and the good of their own, which is noble. As if it is was any war. 

However, is this good for our society? Are we seeing a decline in the return of great mafioso? Are we watching an apathetic unfolding of individuals who care not to thrive but just to be around. A society which is spiraling into misery. A culture hoping that a savior comes and redeems this world.

I have been away…my bloodline I mean… for a while but there is dangerous evidence that we are plummeting against our founding principles that really once saw our way of life thrust to the highest position of desirability for people to partake in to a place where people are quite bothered to be present anymore. 
 

1. Decline in Mobsters and descendants of…

we are seeing a drop in return of a persons descendants. If this is true why do people choose to take such significant breaks? Is it because of the amount of time and energy it requires to advance in stature only for it to be ripped because they aren’t a part of the shadow elite?

2. Same Crew Leaders again and again….

The same names emerge consistently. One may say that their hard work is why but clearly a certain favoritism towards a group is pushed creating a secret family from all the families. The elites, accused of purging and bloodlining, push one another to the top positions to hold others down.

3. No longer a sense of a family….

crews have lost a sense of family. From the removal of hq bars to the restructuring of cities crews have lost the sense of family. A bigger problem of this is that crew leaders are not seen as leaders of their crew from their crew members. Why? Because crews no longer look at one another as a team as their crew leaders are in fact their own team willing to kill their members at first sight of possible growth into leadership. 

4. Increased Rogues caused by increased purges and bloodlining…

rogues continue to pop up because of a desire to change the world back to what everyone first joined this life for that is slowly decaying. Rogues build and are considered fugitives yet secretly, everyone is rooting for them. 

5. Communication collapse…

communication is low in crew chats, in streets, and in private mails. Perhaps the coffee shops and other channels is where the action is truly happening. However, this was not the life many of us signed up for. This is not the life many of us run to.

So, what are we to do?

I believe we may be beyond the point of expecting a change of heart. I believe we need the gods to restructure our very fabric of life. We are quickly falling into an age where growth, activity, engagement, and enjoyment is lessening. I believe there are several things we can do that will alter our current state. If we as a community and the gods can work together: 

1. Investigate blood-lining and purge claims. 

each mobster enjoyed this life at some point and should not be removed because they are a potential threat. As a society we have a right to know why our made men and above were killed. Gods have the right to know and obligation to identify why their creatures who spend their money and time are killed so frivolously and frequently.

2. Remove Distance shooting 

the little guys can’t compete. The people who have families and jobs can’t compete. They get squashed down further and further.  We will only continue to have the same rulers time and time again. It’s a shame. No new creativity. No new lifeblood. No new ideas and dreams.

3. Encourage and empower hq bars

bringing back communication as a crew. Entrust hands and crew leaders to safely moderate any wrongdoing and reprimand them if they fail to do so. This will revitalize communication. People need a reason to gain communicate here. Give them experience, and increase it more than what they receive from breaking people out of jail. 

4. Allow only one Godfather per city. 

this highlights one leader of a city identifying this person as The one to care for Their people. This creates deeper levels of loyalty. This fosters unity. This holds people accountable for their actions. This creates an individual who has the spotlight on them for the direction of their city. 

5. Disassemble the elite

shadow crews and secret families shouldn’t be working together to bloodline people. This should be a rule adopted by the society. 
 

These are my suggestions. I fear if we don’t speak up, if we don’t try to change things, we will be part of something that no one really enjoys anymore. Perhaps we are already there. I hope I did not offend anyone in my presentation. That wasn’t my aim. My aim was intended to be clear - there are dangers lurking in our world and it’s becoming unethical and unenjoyable. We have to act. For the good of one another and the good of the future of our society. 

I like many of your suggestions, actually. Yet, I don't think much will change quite honestly. I'll write down bullet points to make it easier to see my reasons why. Mistletoe pulls out a sheet of paper and begins to write.

1. This may rotate who is on top more often, but it will still be the same people. There are only so many that care for that power, Egotistical Goku, Paranoid First, a certain group of people that I quite honestly I have nothing insulting to say about them, cheers! Disorder and folks if his line still is around, and our current friends, a unique alliance that I am honestly surprised has lasted as long as it has, kudos to y'all.

2. Guilty by association. It is something unfortunate that my lineage learned a long time ago. My line was a crew leader at the time and had tried to recruit a soul that had just reached our shores. They informed me that while they had no issues with me, they hated the people I worked with and would never join me, they would also choose to build to kill me because of it. I feel many of us fall in this area, we may not be the people calling the shots, but because we associate with those who do we are forever doomed to be hated or killed by those who do not like them. Being friends with everyone or trying to be will doom you to be killed by any side, so it feels like you have to choose a side and stick to it.

3. Many of us just don't have the time or drive to be leaders anymore. Maybe our lives outside of the streets are too busy, perhaps we are just here because a friend asked us to join them at the local diner. Even if the current regime is removed, the new one will have the same faces they like up and eventually they will too have the same one's over and over again. At first it won't be because of paranoia, it will be because people just don't want the role. Then after a while when they do give one or two other people a chance, and that bites them in the ass. They will do it more because they only trust those same faces. They will be in the same spot we are currently in now.

4. People only trust the same people. We always dream about the old days and always remember them in a better light. Many feel that once those at the top are removed and replaced that suddenly a new dawn will break and the new regime will bring back the golden days. You have got to be shittin' me if you believe that. You really think they will let anyone grow in their crews and not shoot them every few months? They can toot their horns now saying they would never do that, but my line has been apart of many regimes. They all do it, sorry to break it to yah. Our bloodlines have been around too long now, they have shot each other many times. Once this regime is gone and the others that banded together take over, oh that will be fun to see how they turn on each other and fight for power, so they too can be where it is at now. If this place makes it to that day.

5. Even with the removal of long distance shooting, its going to be the same people ruling the roost, they are the same ones who build as fast as they do, many of us are slowpokes or don't bother and the only reason we get as far as we do is because of the distance. Remove it and the elite will just be rotating who hates who more and us little guys will die with them, it will change nothing, but maybe at least a little more excitement than rogues. I'll give that to yah!

6. The population fading and leaving, while many may be leaving because of those in power. I think the biggest reason our shores are dwindling is more because this place is getting dated, many of us do have families and would rather spend our time doing something more positive and fun. Everyone here is quite rude to one another, heck even I threw some shade towards a few. Toxicity is rampant and those that are swell people choose to stay out of it, they choose to keep to themselves or the few friends they have around here. Hard to build up a community when we can barely talk to each other like we're another human being.

Maybe I am just jaded and have lost hope for this place. Yet, nothing I see from either side that tells me anything can change or be different. Just a can we all keep kicking down the road until we finally say we've had enough and move on.

There was once a time when Godfather Cadhla was mortified at the notion that those around her knew she would kill as much of her own city as she had to in order to survive. It seems she grew out of that, evidenced by killing the two dozen or so members of her own city because their crewleader, whom she authed, asked her for money.

Then take the Ligambis. The only reason they survive as long as they do is because they're not smart enough to matter. They've had Detroit and LA for months and all they've been able to do is get the exact same witless wonders into the exact same positions. Except Nuccio just ate it again, so in a few weeks his son will be back to petty his way to Godfather again. Detroit and Los Angeles are in such a state of irreversible decline that it was so easily and obviously targeted for housing rogues.

The funniest part is that most of the purging they did never even got the real threats. They think they're badass. They think they're cunning and capable. And none of them even sit at the adults table. I remember when Joe_Ligambi once apologized profusely to a rogue in his own crew that JTG was taking a while vetting him for a hand spot. Anyone with a brief understanding of what's happening in a Ligambi city laughs their fucking ass off. They're jokes.

And all the drama surrounding BillyMastrosimone "retiring"... He killed off every single person his former GFC Amira asked him to protect. He's as hollow as hollow suits come, and sent off members to other crews that died virtually INSTANTLY. It's a revolving door of colossal fuckups over there and somehow he seems justified in taking the Godfather mantle in a city of whiny nepo babies and utter self-destruction.

Then there's StripheCorelli who's been set back how many times in the last few months? And never for the right reasons. He's plotted with half a dozen people here but all of them get killed before they matter. He's still loitering about for exactly the same reason as the Ligambis- he doesn't matter. All that work and he's not at the adults table either.

There are positions of power in this world, sure, but there is no respect for this group anymore. They've purged dozens of their own people and still barely keep their heads above the water. This group will fill every district with brainlessly compliant Godfathers who will sacrifice absolutely anyone at a moments' notice. The rogues will stop, and eventually there will be nothing left to do here but work and die in a cycle of teenage narcissistic insecurity. Everyone will leave, and the story of this world will come to a tragic and boring end.
