| CA helping you with your OC | Started by: Kingcola on Mar 04, '12 18:27 |

I like to hear what other`s think of the idea about your own CA can help you with your OC if you are in the same city
It can be like nobody other then you can see that he is helping
If he isn't around you can mail him and tell him that you need help with a job, since he already is corrupt he most likely will help to have some more money
Some of what other`s would have can go to you, say like 5 % of what he is getting
1.How can your idea be successfully implemented into the game as it stands? |

Is there really any need to stick a post pointing out that a suggestion has already been made on every suggestion that has already been made Deadly?
Maybe, what with you being a leader you could go post in the streets where you get points? So what if an idea has been suggested before, a lot of the ideas that have been suggested before have been one liners with no indication of how the proposed change could/would benefit the game, how it could be implemented etc.
Simply pointing out that something has been suggested before is no different to spamming. I thought the general rule was if you don't have something constructive to say, keep it shut?
Shrug
Personally, I quite like this idea, it would help no end in the less frequented cities and at times of the day when not much of the userbase is online. I don't really see how it will have a negative impact on the game. |

1. Why? As far as I can see it a post for the sake of a post. To quote the Suggestion posting guidelines:
"When replying to a suggestion please try to keep it positive. I understand that it is difficult sometimes and not so nice things come out, however, this is a forum for constructive discussions not bashing each other. "
A one liner does not constitute "constructive" discussion in my book, couldn't possibly comment on whether it does in your eyes.
Did I mention anything about cut / pasting or claiming posts as your own? No.
Would it make me happier? No.
One line of constructive is better than zero lines of constructive, wouldn't you say? If you want him to notice previous replies, I guess his mailbox is also "always open" and it would save us from one liners that really serve no purpose and would also make him look less stupid.
Do you get a kick out of berating the user base? No clue, I'm not you, I couldn't possibly comment.
For this to constitue a demand of you, you would have to remove the following: "Maybe, what with you being a leader you could"
Simply pointing out that something has been suggested before is no different to spamming. I stand by this. Whether you think it is spamming or not is really of no consequence to me, I have other things to worry about save worrying about what others motivations / issues / worries / cares are.
Replying with someone else's reply is all good and well and furthermore, would it not have been more productive, in your original reply, to say something along the lines of:
Aaaaaaaaand finally, why would I want to take it further with you in your inbox? I am not arguing. I also don't give a flying rat's ass what other people think or make of me, if I did, I wouldn't be long for this world and would more than likely not post in the fear that someone might hurt my feelings.

Hardly a post for the sake of a post - like you said, I get no points for it right? Either way, I didn't bash him. I pointed out that it had been previously suggested and directed him to the discussion previously held so he could see the responses there which I feel covered the subject quite well already. I kept my post short and to the point, as I always try to. |

The difference being that mine was my own "constructive" discussion whereas yours was simply a link directing him towards response's that were not your own.
So again, we roll back around to the question:
If you have nothing constructive to add / say, why bother?
Phil_Steak, I really don't need DS's who-err, coffeeshop chat room buddies sticking up for him, he's a big lad, I am sure he can give just as much as he gets. I am also a little perturbed how a new topic about something that has been discussed before can be constituted as spam?
A definition of spam in it's verb (I think) form:- To send the same message indiscrrimnately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.
Essentially, this is what is happening here when posting "already been discussed (link)" multiple times. |

Cab_Tufting,
Cab_Tufting,
When I see an idiotic response, I make sure to point it out. Doesn't matter who is involved in the discussion. |

Your constructive sentence was only added at the end of what you said to me, almost an afterthought more than actually coming in here to discuss the suggestion. |

Phil,
Phil,
He said he wanted peoples opinions, he didn't say he wanted a one liner pointing him to threads that were written 3+ months ago. Added to that there was one post of note on there, from Sprozza, which DS later referenced in a much more "non spam like" way.
Time and effort was taken to locate a thread that is in the third page of the forum? How much? 2 minutes, maximum? Probably the amount of time it would have taken him to reference the thread, as he did further down the line and elaborate a little. A world of knowledge is a little far fetched to be quite frankly honest.
It is not my definition of spam, it is the, or one of a few that are very similar, definition of spam, let's get that straight: -
"And I feel DeadlySins contributions provided us a reference to threads which had several responses that were a lot better than what you had provided:"
If you feel DS's contribution provided a reference to a thread which had several responses that were a lot better than what I contributed it just goes to show you are opening your mouth and engaging your brain without doing the research. Of the 3, that's right, 3 replies that were contained in said thread, one was of note, the one DS referenced, whilst the other two were pointless one liners. Next time, I suggest you check to see what has been written before you go making grandiose claims that cannot be substantiated.
"Holy shit man, my 6 year old little cousin could come up with that response."
Personal attacks are not allowed my friend, look what happened to Birday when he wrote in character stuff in a paper regarding peoples in game accounts. I have not resorted to personal attacks and don't understand why you feel the need to. Sexual frustration, bored of jacking off to the same copies of razzle your dad passed down to you? Anyhow, I digress.
I don't see you coming up with anything better......login early in the morning GMT wise and see the situation for yourself. Unless I am on info, which I am not, how do you expect me to see said people. I am not a massively forum active person and am not going to run around spouting off mindless drivel in the forums to obtain said info. I could make an announcement in #divinelunacy but as we well know that kind of thing is frowned upon. So I am left in a bit of a catch 22, do I hold off on the OC until more people are on 5 hours time, thus lowering the amount of OC's I can realistically carry out in my lifetime or do I potentially invite a CA to do the crime with? If the CA is not giving the money back to other players, crews, myself, what is the problem? NPM's could be invited, why can CA's not be?
It has got nothing to do with putting in effort to find people, if people are around that are:
A: In my family.
B: In a family that is tied to my family.
Then you can be damned sure I will go down that route as money would be much more useful in the hands of real people than a mindless zombie.
As far as I can tell, there was nothing that I posted that simply said "this is a good idea". Let's look and analyse:-
"Personally, I quite like this idea, it would help no end in the less frequented cities and at times of the day when not much of the userbase is online. I don't really see how it will have a negative impact on the game."
As you can see, I stated that I personally don't see this as a bad idea. And I think I have a valid point on the helping in less frequented cities and when a lot of the userbbase is either in bed, at work, having sex, eating etc etc. I then go onto say I don't see how it would have a negative impact on the game. If people want me to elaborate, hell, I am more than happy to elaborate and will do so.
"It helps me because then i don't have to put in effort when doing an OC to find individuals in the same city as me".
This was most certainly not what was going through my mind when I wrote the statement. But it is nice of you to go assuming what I am thinking at any given time.
*kiss kiss*

Also, I would hardly consider my comment a personal insult, however if you wish to assume its implications, let us look at your comment and its implications:
"Erm, while we are at it lets make doing petties and felonies automated too huh?
And it would also be nice if the game would fly around for me while I am asleep selling drugs. And can we automate IA chasing too. Like, put my IA's in a list and the game will fly around wacking at them for me.
Automation, automation, automation. Bad idea, in my opinion. Do you really get that many OC requests that the personal message is an annoyance?

OH SNAP. Hypocritical much?
I was merely pointing out the shortcomings of it. It is an "Organised Crime". If you have trouble understanding that this means it takes some "organisation" then please be quiet. |

Thank you all for the feedback on this
Some times there are only 50 online and not all in one town and if you are from a city with only 20 members it can be hard to organise it
I also have had trouble to succeed an OC for 2 peoples even with 3 or 4 in it so I can't see that is very normal that you have to get maybe 2 too 5 more then it says that you need to do it |
