| HQ Purchases have a 7 day cooldown per coast. | Started by: Squishy on Mar 31, '25 12:11 |

In one to two weeks time, purchasing an HQ will have a cooldown of 7 days. EXEMPTIONS: If you are moving an HQ inside the same city but to a different district, there is no cooldown. If you purchasing an HQ within the same coast, there is a 24 hour cooldown. If we are in rebuild, there is a 24 hour cooldown. If we are in rebuild and you have greater than 6 hours of an open gun timer as well as greater than 3 hours of no protection there is no cooldown. SIDE NOTES: If your purchase/moving of your HQ is what triggers the system turning off a pending NPC invasion, then moving/selling for any reason after that for 7 days, the NPCs will spawn still spawn and will pay extra attention to you. This will all be displayed in an easy to see/understand way on the purchase HQ page. |

| -1 Terrible change. Could explain it but I'm sure it's very obvious to many. | |

I'm closing the loophole of moving for bonuses by those in bold and those not in bold. Mind explaining what makes it a terrible change and follow it up with what you feel is the better way to curb the existing exploitation of moving of HQs for bonuses that will work for past, present, and future crews/rogues, as well as "good", "bad" and "indifferent" people in bold? Your opinion matters, but it goes unheard if you just point at things and say "BAD" and offer nothing of why you feel your method should be put in instead. |

| Can you please elaborate on those bonuses and breakdown your reasoning in layman’s terms if you please. | |

I am curious if I am mistaken in looking at the changes and seeing that it favours leaders set up, but if people want to change the regime, it seems almost like its more impossible once these changes take effect. Am I wrong in thinking so? |

This exploitation has been being used for over a year and was used in many different ways like taking control of the game, removing people who are dangerous to you, and I am sure at some point it was also used for wars. It seems like the urgency to fix this was not something of high priority and now all this time later it has become normalized as part of the gameplay whether it is technically a loophole or not so I am not sure why that is highlighted so much when everybody uses it. I think the best suggestion I could give to balance all of this out is to apply the same reduction to BG effectiveness and overall defense that is being applied to the gun loss due to distance. This would balance things out and while yes I understand the argument of "then nobody will leave their home city or their own coast" and that is probably true but if we want realism how many mobsters were leaving their home city to begin with? |

You're not wrong in thinking that. While this change does affect existing CLs too, it still favors them as they can just send their hitters into another HQ to bypass distance. Rogues don't have the same privilege without sacrificing a ton of proers.
-1 too easy to remain on top. |

No, my mistake, but good! If everything’s patched then there’s no issues with this one.
+1 new distance as a whole could make cities more independent |

Truthfully I think many of us feel our opinion does not matter. The user base has voiced there lack of enjoyment with distance and other features for years. Cant fully say what I'd like because there is a chance someone takes offense and I get in trouble. Think its weird you touched on this but not heat seeing as this regime abuses that exploit 10x more than this one. Think the timing of this change is also wild as people are shifting to fight back more than ever atm. Something you have advocated for, for years. The change itself is just a joke 7 day cooldown to setting up is just not needed. Why force the direction of distance when your players have told you it's terrible and frustrating. Kinda goes back to my first statement. Nonetheless I hardly play I'm sure many of you feel the same way but just dont wanna speak up. Use the tip jar as a like button :). |

Upon further review seems I came off a bit rude, id like to change up what a said slightly. "The change itself is just a joke". What I should have said was the change just seems unnecessary with the current state of things. |

I do not agree with this change at all. It's bad enough too much is against the majority of the user base as it stands. |

Also there is nothing stopping a gun from crew hopping to take their shot. We have seen that millions of times. I personally took out a crew hopper who killed a GF who became GF that hour. But the chances of that happening now because of the constant purging is nill. |
