OK, again I'm not sure if this has been discussed or already shot down for whatever reason but I was thinking that it might be nice if people were able to create a "Will," (I believe that's how its spelled).
What does your idea entail?
It would only be for Made Men and up. At a high price. Maybe 5-10 credits a month like a CA or the Timers. The catch is that you wouldn't get All your money but a substantial percentage maybe 70-80% maybe less, maybe more (should make for a nice debate), Due to the fact that people have 'Legit' businesses as well as our other work we should be able to assume that our money is being laundered in some way so our will and cash would be valid. And ONLY the cash that is in your bank. No money on hand should be sent to your kin.
How can your idea be successfully implemented into the game as it stands?
Simply through the credit marketplace. Not sure how the coding would work as I'm not to familiar with computers to that degree.
What major changes would be needed to make your idea work?
None really that I can see. (please speak on this if you do see something) Maybe needing a cap on BG's at gangster? (maybe)
What is the positive impact of your idea?
Realism in a way. Many mobsters kids have been able to get their parents money be it a safe in the house, or a legitimate will. Since we don't have property individually there is no where to stash the money, therefore a will would have to do. Also this will increase game donations in my mind, and can possibly stimulate the credit marketplace even more.
What is the negative impact of your idea?
Of course people dying and being able to come back with BG's and Able to purchase DFP quickly without saving up. Also when it comes to CLs and the amount of cash they have from their Family's work. Maybe with CL's we can lower the percentage or better yet put a Cap on how much can actually be Placed in a will.
How may your idea affect the rest of the user base?
Bloodlines would actually become relevant. Some may like this, some may not. New users would get along just like we've always been getting along, support from your sponsors and other family members. More experience players would have money from their previous bloodline to start making the moves they want to.
This is just off the top of my head with some thought. I'm sure other ways to tweak this will come to mind eventually but please give your input on this also. Just thought I'd put it out there. |

Thanks for finding that and posting it in here. I see the biggest issue is with having the money stay in game which is understandable, along with the argument people that people are just being lazy (which I don't agree with). So my question now is is there any way of getting around keeping the money in the game, like Your bank account has been seized due to an investigation (you fucking up an OC or something along those lines)
Or better yet my question might be what do you think can be done to make something along the line of a will work, besides just shooting it down?
Having a friend to send the money to for your future bloodline is almost in a way a will. But that is still not a secure way being that they can get killed also. Even if we made it a max like a life insurance.
I'm taking my previous comment of a 70-80% back talking about maybe 500k-2mill. |

Lol. Great input! I don't know how we would improve or get any suggestions going in the right direction without you. |

... I don't really see the point in showing someone where else the topic can be found, just about as useless of a post as the original itself, seeing as it has been brought up a few times. Crazy DS, bein all crazy and shit. Anyway. I don't like the idea of this, not even the slightest. Sure it is kind of realistic, most people in real life have wills and paperwork doling out their money and assets to loved ones when they pass, but the way this economy here works, it would throw everything off to have new bits of cash flow to new accounts. The way it should be looked at is like this - each account is a new person. Not every account you see is "the son" etc etc of their last account, so why would they get any perks from their old accounts? |

The reason I show people where else the topic can be found is so that they can see previous comments on the subject. Usually that's a lot more helpful to them than waiting to get a decent amount of replies. |

Your last account does have something to do with your current account rp wise with some if not most. We hear all the time about how players come back with a new accounts straight to the LHM or RHM position because they know how to run that position because their "father/mother" held that position and which gave them the knowledge to do the same. I figured cash could be the same way. Your parents left you with something. |

Yeah from an OOC perspective of course it does - but in game each character is an entirely brand new person. Whether you choose to roleplay as the son or daughter of your previous character is something you decide, not the game. |

Don't mistake this for in game Popcorn - This is the suggestion forum, not the streets. Respect isn't really an issue. |

Repect is always an issue in everything you do, more so in forums like these then in game in my opinion. |

Ds the only reason I even noticed this post is thanks to you, you may not be replying, but I hope your still reading, there was no need to be rude, pop wouldn't have posted this if he didn't think it would be useful. Your a long time player, stop bashing on people and show a little respect.
pop, same to you, I read this hoping to see something new on an old topic, instead, bickering children... I get that at work, so enough.
finally, there's is or was a program in place, if you died with x in your pocket you'd get a percentage, I think I topped out at 5k. Idk if its still around, but when you first logged on you'd read "so-and-so thought you should have this" and a money amount. I like the idea that your last account effects your current one, because we ourself don't normally change, neither do our accounts really, we play the same person with a new face. I'd rather see other stuff passed on, personals, letters, or even a gun, a boost in one stat, and so on. Cash is easy, just make some good friends and pass it for ward. Your stats, mail and personals are the true treasures... |

I can respect what you've said Lylithe.
And also I never thought about a boost in one stat, or maybe even having old mail. I actually like that idea. Of course the boost of one stat couldn't carry on to multiple generations, just the one directly following. At least your forefathers left you something, and knowledge is better then a will. Of course thats just my opinion |

the amount is consi more then 5k. with only half my money on hand(not a large amount) at the time of my last death, i made a straight 20k. so it's a pretty good chunk of change. |
