Aspirations. Started by: Discos on Mar 11, '12 10:05

With a swish of an arm, a shuffle of his blindingly, sexy feet and a shimmy, coupled with ecstatic jazz hands, you see Disco, a man renown for his enticing and mesmerizing moves, moves that only the lord himself can replicate. He stands in the middle of the street step digging. (for those of you who aren't down with dancing, it's a manoeuvre that involves a few simple steps, either side of your swerving body, with a few clicks of the fingers thrown in for good measure).

With the ever increasing crowd growing to watch the mans exciting moves(even if he does say so himself), he begins to speak out....

Ladies and gentleman, I hope to gather you all to day, to ask a few simple questions but questions i feel everyone should and probably already does ask themselves. I feel These questions are questions that appeal to everyone in this world, but more specific to people like me, no not dancing gods, but people who are new to this world. I have no "Bloodline", an expression I have learnt in my short time here and I'm absolutely the first in mine to stumble upon what looks to be an exciting world.

When you make that vital decision to turn to a life of crime, do you have aspirations as what you want to do and what you want to get out of this life? Are your fist instincts just to survive best you can? Are they to become a hitter? A leader? A Godfather?

Do you set out a development plan on how to get to were you want? Will I set out my ideas and my stall to my Crew Leader and see if he can help me get what I would like? Would that be disrespectful or would he appreciate my candour, as long as I give the same level of ambition and commitment to him?

Are your aspirations realistic? In fact, is it wrong if they are not realistic? Does this show potential and worth or does it only show delusion? Having aspirations and dreams can be the foundations on which to build yourself a great life. Ones that can present themselves as core values to show any new CL that you are worth their time.

For me, I will work hard to show my worth, I will set my stall out first and ask the question, what do I need to get there? I'd also like to think that by doing this, by working hard and becoming an integral part of this community and my family, that I stand my sons life a better chance than I had. So I put the question to you all;

Do you have aspirations when joining this world? Or do you in fact just roll into this life and just take it day by day? Do you just make the best of each situation and ride your luck? Or do you observe, then asses and refine your plans from that point?

As I have stated, I am an absolute new entity in this world and could be well off the mark asking questions of this order and in fact you might not deem me any were near important enough to answer such questions but id appreciate everyone who takes the time to speak with, as it would be nice to gage my young life with others of this world.

With a glint in his eye, D throws a little wink to the crowd, puts his left foot in front of the other, puts his arms out to the side, spins on the spot blindingly fast and moon walks off to the other side of the road.

When I set out in this life of crime all I wanted to do was become made man. I saw these chaps and held them in awe, their clothes, their power. In my district they didn't pay for anything, they never queued in the shops and always got the best tables and quickest service in the restaurants.

I heard stories of a man called iota, he made it to become a godfather and in the process ran up legendary food and drink tabs at all the burger joints in the Midwest. That man had style, and hand made suits to fit in to.

When I became a made man, my only aspiration was to serve my crew leader to the best of my ability, to bring love to las Vegas. Then I got the nod to set up from the jail legend that was betsy_poke. The love machine was created and I aspire to become a smooth criminal.

Romeo starts to moonwalk away

Romeo, thankyou for your story and taking the time to grace me with your aspirations and desires, i will take them onboard with me.

Although, i have to say you need to work on that moonwalk, its not the worst i have seen, yet i could do with being tightened up.

Again thanks for sharing, much appreciated.

Leo steps forward taking a pull from his cigarette and exhaling before he spoke.

Well in my case my ambitions are constantly changing, I came to these shores when I heard news that an old friend had been given a bold suit. I intended just to sell a few drugs here and there, sleep most of the time and basically slack off. I wanted a nice quiet life working for my friend, no outside influence at all, but as the days passed working for my friend I needed more. I felt I needed to do more for my friend, become a better Mafioso. So I worked hard, set up a business and became part of a crime syndicate. I am very proud of where I have got to, and when I first started out here I would not of dreamed of being in the position I am now. Now I ask myself, do I want more?

I'm not sure on that one, like I say ambitions can change over time. I am happy as I am now, but I cannot say if i will want more in six or seven months.

Leo finishes speaking and continues to smoke his cigarette.

Leo, thats an excellent way to look at it, i think ambition and what you aspire to be can be very subjective to the actual situation and period of time that one may find themselves in.

I think to continually asses these situations could be a recipe for success and a leasson that i will gladley take and use in future situations.

Thanks again leo for taking the time to listen and speak with me, much appreciated.

I have but one aspiration in this world........to live up to the exacting standards of one of my forefather’s comrades in arms. The only true master of mediocrity, Derek.

A man of epic proportions whose sole goal in life was to increase the already severely swollen girth of his infamous gut whilst slowly but surely introducing the members of his crew to a lifestyle of wanton lust, and an unhealthy interest in the art of inappropriately touching themselves, and others.

His diet was mainly made up of saturated fats, discarded potato peelings and a heaving cocktail of the liquids commonly found at the bottom of most commercial waste bins apparently.

He did however bring a sense of togetherness, a feeling of being part of something............albeit the most renowned failure of a team of mobsters ever to grace the sidewalks of our world. His ability to carve this niche for himself and his hapless band of dippers was well documented, and gave rise to the endearing term of “no name C”.

So, my quest is simply that. To evolve and carve my own little hieroglyph upon this uncertain world, whatever that may be.

What`s this moonwalk you speak of? Some fancy European body teasing dance no doubt.......

Nicola decides to add her own humble aspirations to the discussion

My aspiration is to serve my leader well and to do whatever my crew require from me. If I can do that, other things will fall into place, I believe.

Nicola smiles shyly, blushes deeply, and retreats back into the crowds.

well Ramses, that's a most interesting story, if not a all be it, too graphical, the images will be burned forever into my retina's. However i bid you all the luck and success, god knows you will need it, seems like a hard act to follow.

The moonwalk you say.... well its a dance i will soon patent, in the hope that it will be known around the world and make me millions.

Nicloa, that's most noble and honourable, thank you both for your input, even if a certain speech was, somewhat disturbing.

Mercury hears Disco and stops momentarily to respond.

When I first came here, my aspirations were to learn as much as I could about this thing of ours. My goal was not to lead but to serve a CL and a city to the best of my ability. I also wanted to show them what I was made of, so to speak. I learned quickly that an effort needed to be made to meet as many mafioso as I could. Each one has their own abilities and input. I also aspired to gain their respect by showing my loyalty and earning their trust. To this day, I take pride in my work and hope that I am seen as honorable.

In my mind, I have aspirations that I do not share with anyone. These aspirations are tied to my knowledge and I will not accept anything I am not sure I am completely ready for. While I want and will be an intricate part of my family, should I take on more than my current knowledge allows I will not be able to fulfill my own potential. I have been around these parts for a few months now and there are still several things that I am not capable of as of yet. I still learn something at least every other day. Each city is different and there is something to be learned from them all.  Being realistic with my aspirations and having the wisdom to know when I am ready is key to me. I believe rank is not as important as my service to my family and my city.

Mercury finishes and walks on.

I don't realy have an aspiration. The only thing i focus on is supporting my family and city. When i support my family to and extent that my CL thinks it is a good idea to bestow Made Manship opon me, I will be greatful yes but the only reason i would rank up is if i could better establish myself in my family and be able to earn them more money in doing so, What i guess i am trying to say is i try very to gain respect and money for my family and myself and show that i am worthy of the title of made man or higher. I guess you can say that is my Aspiration.

Senka had been listening from her favourite spot, the shadows. She had thought about it while she was listening and decided to step out into the open and respond.

Well I've been thinking about this and I've been listening to whats been said. I couldn't have said it better than Leo. Aspirations are always changing. When I first got to these shores my only aspiration was to remain alive. My bloodline was known for constantly dying and not achieving too much besides decent earnings and sometimes high ranks. I found a spot with TheCancerousTumour and tried as hard as I could to remain alive and make money for my crewleader.

Once I had met Technical I knew my plans of just remaining alive were about to change. Once he had set up I couldn't turn down helping him with his family by being his Right Hand. Once that happened my aspirations changed to being the best Right Hand I could be for our family and doing everything possible to keep it growing and thriving.

Am I happy where I am? Yes. My family is amazing and I am thrilled to see it continue to grow along with the city of Detroit. Will my aspirations change? Let's just take it one day at a time and see what the future holds.

Senka smiles more to herself then anyone else and goes back into the shadows to listen.
