I am working on a few things to begin traveling alot within the next year and such. Will mainly do alot of inner united states traveling but once I get passports and other things sorted. Would definitely love to travel outside of the country. Curious on recommendations on places you have been, what you would recommend from your experience and possibly the negatives to steer clear of. Just interested in hear the communities travel opinions. |

I'm from the United States and have never left the country (unless you count the Canadian side at Niagara Falls), but within the country I have been pretty much everywhere. My favorite place to go is upper New England, especially Maine and Vermont. The countryside is beautiful, there are lots of things to do and delicious food to eat, if you're into tasting the regional cuisine, and it's not overwhelmed with other tourists like the more popular destinations. |

Couldn't agree more TomJoad! I lived in Maine; it is breathtaking, every last thing about the state. My husband and I saw a guy literally carrying a RPG 7 there for no reason. But if you're gonna visit NE, steer clear of Rhode Island (Im from there) its been voted the number 1 rudest state in the US. lol. |

My most favorite place in the US so far has been The Big Island of Hawaii. Specifically Kona. The vibes is just so good there. Now I went for diving mostly, but the food and the people - so nice! And barely any traffic. |

If you’re drawn to awe inspiring landscapes and the untamed beauty of nature, I highly recommend visiting Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Norway, and other countries with similar rugged charm. The North doesn’t just do it better, it defines it. |

| I really want to visit one of those places where you have little huts that you stay on above the water. Like bora bora. Where the water is so blue and see through that you watch the fish from the deck as you drink your coffee from above. | |

I mean, my advice would be, since it is all connected and if you have the funds, land somewhere in Europe and just travel, trains here and there. Germany, few cities, Poland, Czechia, France, Italy and so on, Turkey. |

Pulau Failonga is a small and quiet island near Tidore and Ternate. it has very clear blue water that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The coral reefs are healthy, so you can see many colorful fish underwater. The island is peaceful because not many tourists visit, making it a great place to relax. From the island, you can see beautiful views of the mountains on Tidore and Ternate, along with the open sea. |

I've seen alot of recommendations on Maine being a really pretty state to traverse, Prague looks pretty cool Jeff_Fort BerZerk, yeah that idea has consistently come to mind traveling a large swath for a month because of the connectiveness. |

for me being in UK, europe is on the doorstep so a combination of cheap flights, bus services and sleeper trains are often an easy way to chil around europe. I used to just get an inter-rail pass, but with budget airlines as they are and megabus. flixbus iss plenty of ways to see a lot of places and then hostel/camp/sleep in transit at worse. Can also find some good car shares sometimes too. gonna try and cover latvia, lithuania and estonia in 2 weeks for my next break just in case they come in the line of fire with moldova post ukraine war |

If you’re craving a perfect mix of nature, culture, and a bit of tropical luxury, Bali should be at the top of your list. From lush rice terraces in Ubud to the stunning sunsets of Uluwatu, Bali offers a little bit of everything—beaches, temples, waterfalls, vibrant nightlife, and peaceful retreats. Whether you’re a surfer, a foodie, a digital nomad, or simply in need of a break, the island welcomes all with its warm spirit and rich traditions. Beyond the sights, it’s the little things that make Bali unforgettable—the scent of incense in morning offerings, the sound of gamelan music in the distance, the taste of freshly grilled seafood by the beach. Come with an open heart, and Bali will leave you with more than just photos—it’ll give you memories that linger long after your tan fades. |

Yogyakarta is a city full of history and culture. You can explore ancient temples like Borobudur and Prambanan, stroll down lively Malioboro Street, and taste traditional food like gudeg. It's a perfect place to experience Indonesia’s rich heritage. |
