I remember over hearing an adult talk about the Chucky doll and it stuck with me forever . I always assumed it was a real thing and eventually I would run into a real lif Chucky doll. Terrified me. |

I can't recall dreams I had as a kid that have been shattered by reality. However I recall driving with my mother to a nearby town and we ended up in a storm and I had the idea that I saw a large machine overhead with bright lights pinning through the clouds. Not even that high. I don't really care about that story and the adult in me probably advices me that it's nothing. It probably wasn't. But by chance I remember it now because I looked at a documentary on HBO where ex soldiers describe their encounters with UFOs. I didn't finish it as it's a lot of talk and nothing visually interesting. I'm open to the idea that some extra terrestial can exist, but typically I'd say it's nothing of signficance in most tellings. |

I believed that I’d have grown out of playing Mafia by the age of about 19, but I was clearly very wrong. Many thousands of hours well spent of course. |

That my aunt used to be a nun but had since quit. My aunt is nice but does not act at all like a nun, my family just decided to tell me she used to be one as a joke when I was 3 or 4 and I just didn't question it for years. |

As a kid, I used to think that karma existed and bad people would get what is coming to them. As an adult, I realised that bad people keep getting good things. |

Pretty much everything my parents told me or taught me I accepted as infallible. They were never wrong! As I grew older I realized that my parents were, and always had been, rather dumb. Not drooling-on-your-shoes level, but simple enough to believe that standing in the cold gave you a cold, and not a virus. |

The Easter bunny The more you actually think about it the weirder and more strange it is. A giant magical rabbit that hit hard boiled painted chicken eggs and left you candy. So strange… |

I don't think this is wierd as a fair bit of kids had this thought. I always thought there was a monster under my bed as a kid. If i had to pee at night i would jump off my bed as far a way from it as i could to avoid getting grabbed lol. was also a sleepwalker when i was little, they put a bell on my ankle due to me knocking on the door at 3am to get back into the housae :/ |

I believed that the police got to make and enforce all the rules and were therefore the pinnacle of success. For some time I aspired to become a policeman, yet here I am today on the other side of the fence as a coke peddling mafioso. |

For whatever reason, my father wanted to promote us kids eating horseradish (raw) with whatever pork dish was being served. My grandmother worked at a horseradish factory, but I doubt that had anything to do with it. He was just weird. Anyhow, his incentive for getting us to eat horseradish was "it will put hair on your chest". So that's what did it. I choked down the horseradish because I wanted to look like David Hassellhoff. |

It took me some time to understand that actors are actually "actors" and it was always fun to think that "Hey, I watched that guy in that other movie, did he not say/do this? So why is he here now?" and sometimes it was hilarious, sometimes it was just plain dumb. |

Low key.... As I child, I thought the "Blair Witch Project" was real lol. I was a kid, I lived near this woods-like area and the fact that the actors they chose were not well known made me think they really went missing. Also, the internet wasn't as accessible so I couldn't google and it didn't help that other adults would tell me it was real. Yeah... lol I was fucked up for a while thinking that shit was true. |

I believed in all sorts of odd things. I believed in a bunny that flew around and left chocolate baskets, I believed in a fat man in a red suit who did the same but left toys. I also believed that the world was a tiny place that consisted of one small area in the United States and had to learn a lot |
