Too Close For Comfort | Started by: Giacomo_Parisi on May 09, '25 18:27 |
Giacomo Parisi stubbed out the last dying embers of his cigarette, stood up from his desk, and grabbed his hat from the rack as he stepped through the door to the street and the car waiting for him, flanked by his security detail. He offered a weary nod to his driver before sliding into the rear seat and making himself comfortable. After a long but productive week, he was tired and hungry. His favorite restaurant was nearby, but he still took his customary ride around the neighborhood before having his driver pull up to the side door of the eatery. Before he left the car, he thought a moment, then decided to dismiss his bodyguards. It was the end of a long week, and he knew the guys had family waiting for them. He could handle a quiet dinner alone and let them get to their own. He waved the men off, thanking them for their efforts, then opened the restaurant's door and walked inside to survey the scene. As usual, the place was busy on Friday evening, and Gio took a few minutes to greet fellow Ligambi family members scattered throughout the room before taking his corner table, his back to the wall. He signaled to his favorite waiter, and a few minutes later, had a bottle of wine and a selection of appetizers from which to choose. Gio surveyed the offerings, then poured the first glass of wine and cut a slice of bread from the freshly baked loaf. He added a small serving of salad and some cold pasta to his plate, then began his meal. He ate the first course slowly, but drank a little faster, constantly scanning the room while his mind went over recent events. His crew was growing, and it was nice to have some fresh faces around. The new guys were eager, and were already bringing in stuffed envelopes. There were still problems to deal with, of course. Tyler Durden and his gang had reappeared and infested the city. Also, Toby Greene down at the cemetery was causing trouble for Doper, one of the young associates. Besides that, things were mostly going well. Giacomo finished the small amount of the appetizers he'd chosen and drained the last of the wine, feeling his body relax as the alcohol did its job. He ordered his entree, a medium rare ribeye and a side of penne Alfredo, and against his better judgment, asked for another bottle. Halfway through the steak, and the second bottle, Gio looked up to see Doper approaching, a worried look on his face. "Hey, boss, sorry to interrupt your dinner, but I saw a coupla guys from Tyler's crew hanging around headquarters," he managed to get out through heavy breaths. Gio looked up at the man as he chewed, then took a sip of wine before responding. "I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Let me finish my dinner, then we'll both take a ride. Grab a seat while you wait, and help yourself to the food, or maybe a smoke," he offered. Normally, Parisi would have been more eager to remove the gangsters from his turf, but the drink had dulled his responses, and the steak was too good to rush. He allowed himself to enjoy the last of his meal, then pushed his plate away and stood, feeling the room spin as he did. He gripped the back of his chair to steady himself, peeled a few bills off the roll in his pocket, and dropped them on the table. Dinner complete, he strode unsteadily to the door, Doper trailing behind. The street lamps on the main avenue only offered a dimly lit path down the alley to Gio's car. He started toward it, the haze provided by the alcohol blending with that of the late evening to further obscure the man hidden in the long shadows. He made his move, stepping into the space between Gio and his ride, brandishing a large Colt handgun and leveling it at the don's chest. Giacomo sneered at the Durden gangster, but knew he was in serious trouble. "Tyler Durden sends his regards," the man uttered, his finger tightening on the trigger. In that brief moment, Doper made a move of his own. He dove in front of his don, prepared to give himself up. Durden's man squeezed the trigger, but his gun jammed, sealing his fate. Doper, still lying where he fell, pulled his own weapon and fired several shots into the Durden, ending the threat and the man's life. Giacomo took in the scene, a look of astonishment on his face at his associate's actions. He reached down with a trembling hand to pull Doper back to his feet. Together, they walked over to the body, and satisfied the man was indeed dead, the don turned and fixed Doper with a hard stare. "I won't forget what you did here tonight. If it wasn't for you, it would be me bleeding out all over the pavement instead of that asshole. You ever need anything, you come to me. Now take the rest of the night off. I'll make a call and have those other two goons at HQ taken care of." The don clapped Doper on the shoulder in appreciation and made his way over to his car. A thought occurred to Gio as he was about to get in, and he turned back to his associate. "One other thing. I got a little too close to the funeral home for one night, but I'm gonna go have a word with that undertaker tomorrow. You won't have to worry about him anymore." With a parting nod, Giacomo climbed into the back seat and signaled his driver to get him home, vowing to himself not to be so reckless in the future, and thankful he still had one. |

As doper Is standing there Watching The don Gaicomo Parisi Drive off in Shock of what just happen not hearing a thing that the Don has said to him moments ago, The adrenaline rushing threw my body heart racing a million miles per minute. Doper Hears something he hears screaming crying and a Voice that sounds oddly Similar. Its Benny Dopers Bodyguard.
Benny heard the shots fired and Ran to the gun shots has he knew this was where Doper was going he saw me standing there with the gun still in my hand a dead body and he rushes up to Doper, Doper Doper he screamed Grabbing my shoulder and pulling me away Doper WE GOT TO GO NOW!
I Feel my body moving but its like my mind was still standing still looking at the car that is no longer in sight.
Benny then Slaps me in the face and I have a rush of emotions that I can only describe as Fear Hatred and terrified of what just happened. I look at this body that I caused by my own hands and all I can see is Red I rush over to the body and hold up my gun to his lifeless head and I scream Fuck You and everything you stand for and I pull the trigger expecting a loud boom but it was silent confused and anger rushed threw me and I took that useless gun that refused to obey my orders and I got on my knees and beat him until he was a bloody pulp.
It was only a few Strikes in until Benny was able to pull me off and held onto me Running away from the dead body as you could hear the Sirens coming from all directions again dazed not sure what is going on in full Benny gets Doper a few blocks away and I fall to my knees in tears as the adrenaline is fading fast. I start to tear up and Benny is now asking me what the fuck Just happened as Tears are in full blown I couldn't stop them if I tried. After all this was the first time I have killed a man. I don't remember much but I do remember benny walking back and forth and even disappeared for a moment cursing up a storm. But once he got back I seen Zombie there My Frist Bodyguard and honestly my best friend standing there.
Zombie speaks after a short time and says Doper I know a way to fix this... We are going To visit the sisters In his soothing tone and helps me into the car.
Zombie then gives me a Smoke and I light it up letting me calm my self down and asks Doper what happened. I sat there trying to remember everything and I said Someone Tried to take the Don's life and I stopped it. I killed a man today and Zombie Screams is the Don okay! I waved at him and said yes he is fine. Zombie then asked me if I knew who put the hit on the Dons head. I shook my head not knowing... As I put my hands over my eyes with my arms on my knees I said I don't know what is about to happen you guys and I know each of you have your own Wife and kids so I wont force you to go down this road. So I will give you 24 hours to decide if you wish to stick with me or to leave I don't want a response now I want you to think this over as anytime our life's can be over with and I don't know what is coming.
The car arrives at the place and this is where the story will end for now. |
