Dynamite was still wondering what was in the potion that had healed his wounds and made him younger. He had his life two thank twice already, with the second time involving his reemergence from the underground after who knows how long. Clearly Alysia's potions were effective, yet she was no longer around to hear the extended results. He remembered that she had a cabinet locked tight in the old Mastrosimone HQ in Pasadena, so Dynamite thought he'd go and check to see what else she left behind. He took off in his daily driver, a black Cadillac, and drove to the headquarters.
Upon driving up, he noticed that there were Feds patrolling the area and an abundance of yellow "Crime Scene" tape. Dynamite should have remembered...in the mafia life, a job just can't be easy and straightforward. The main entrance, and only regular entrance, was protected by FBN agents; there would be no way to go through there undetected. He would have to use the secret tunnel to get inside. Dynamite walked over toward the street and located a manhole cover. He picked it up and slid it halfway, allowing him to nudge his way down the hole. As soon as he got his body all the way in, he closed the cover and continued on down. It certainly smelled of shit down there, but this led to the secret getaway tunnel in case all hell broke loose in the HQ and he had to get Billy out of there.
As soon as he got to the walkway, he felt around a nearby wall made of concrete. One careful push on an inconspicuous area of the wall gave and a small walkway, five feet high and three feet wide opened up. Dynamite crouched and walked inside, closing the false door behind him. He continued on down the walkway, roughly a 100 foot stretch.
After crouch-walking for what seemed like an eternity, he made it to the ladder leading to their safe room. He climbed up the ladder and stopped when he reached the top. Carefully, he pushed open the door, looking around to see if there were any agents in the area. Nope, it was clear! He pulled himself up onto the hardwood floor and closed the door. The secret route out was disguised as lightly stained brown hardwood floor, so anyone else would not know it was there. He creeped to the door, opened it and looked out. After confirming no one was in the area, he walked briskly down the hall to Alysia's quarters.
He rushed in and closed the door behind him, locking it. Dynamite went straight to her locked cabinet, now wondering where the key was. He looked around and could not see anywhere obvious it would be. He looked underneath the cabinet and saw a paper taped underneath that read, "Glitter Bombs". He thought for a second then had a moment of clarity.
He went to her closet and saw a small cache of glitter bombs. She really loved to toss them around in the HQ common room and Billy's office as it livened up the place. He grabbed a few and tossed them in the room.
BOOM! SPARKLE! CLINK!
Glitter and paint were everywhere in the room as well as loud bursts. Shit, the agents must have heard that. He heard a key CLINK and looked around. He spotted it and grabbed it and went straight to the locked cabinet. He inserted the key and turned it, revealing a bunch of filled vials of potions. He grabbed a nearby rucksack and tossed all the contents in. He went straight to the door, and a two FBN agents, approaching from the other end of the long hallway spotted him.
Dynamite quickly ran back to the saferoom, hearing footsteps get closer. He locked the door and fortified it with a nearby armoire, giving him a little more time. He ran toward the secret floorboard, pulled it up and started to climb back down. As he was closing the door above him, he heard the hallway door bust down. He climbed down faster and finally made contact with the ground. The agents pulled up the door and looked from above. They began to climb down, Dynamite halfway through the crouch space. He went as fast as he could, finally reach the door to open it. He looked back and could see the agents approaching. He went though, free to walk around the dirty sewer, closed the door and quickly went up the ladder leading to the manhole.
He made it up and out, and ran to his vehicle. He hopped in and quickly took off, leaving the agents scrambling as to what the hell happened. |

YourNextWife was wandering around Pasadena, reminiscing on stories she heard of her late aunt Alysia. She had checked out places she had frequented and even booked a room for the night at Paramount Hotel. She had taken a stroll through the open market and walked past The Range. All of these places were quite the lovely spots. Wifey had made her home in Philly but she could see why Alysia had LOVED this place. She wanted to visit the old Mastrosimone family home but it was swarmed with Feds so she knew she couldn't actually head inside. She peered in the windows nonchalantly as she slowly strolled past but she couldn't see much, as expected. What good crime family has everything on full display? She had just made it past the headquarters that Alysia had shared so many stories of when she saw a man climb out of a manhole. She watched as he dashed from the manhole into a car and was gone before she could even process what happened. She kept strolling and pondering on what she had just witnessed. She had almost made it back to Paramount Hotel when it dawned on her that she had just seen Dynamite. Alysia had sent a letter with a photo of them on the day that Dynamite had started his own branch of crime family. This revelation had blown her mind because what impeccable timing it had been that she'd ran across one of her aunts closest friends. She thought he had retired from the business but I guess he was back at it. She would have to make it a point to seek him out and learn more about Alysia. |
