Blue lights of Detroit Started by: Babs on May 13, '25 09:30
10.05.1951.
Detroit is getting a refresh when it comes to nightlife. In the heart of Paradise Valley, a new night club has opened at 3879 Hastings.
 BLUE ROOM

The proud owner Stefan Babic-Babs opened the doors of his club to all the people he saw Detroit of that time.

A huge hall with a central stage that was two meters high, with a capacity of 850 seats. At the very entrance, on the left side, stood a marble barge over 10 meters long, equipped with the best alcoholic beverages.

Food was also on offer, because the club had a kitchen where excellent food was prepared.
For special guests of high importance and reputation, there were additional activities, behind the stage in a long corridor there were several secret rooms, one large room where the club's friends could play secret games of poker or blackjack, and several rooms where they could indulge in hot and lustful anime ladies of low morals.

The hall was filled with round tables that could seat 6 people.

The big spectacle was scheduled for 8:00 p.m. and the guests slowly began to arrive. Doctors, Lawyers, Businessmen, Athletes, and even those politically engaged wanted to be part of the new history of Detroit night life.

The Detroit underground was also present. All creme de la creme

When the last place in the club was filled, the big gong that was right next to the stage started to play its powerful sound.. Three gongs sounded, and then one of the leaders of the night program of the Blue Room club went up on the stage and greeted all the guests present.

 Jason Morton-
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the grand opening of the most modern and stylish club Detroit has ever seen. BLUE ROOM.. Tonight's spectacle, which awaits us, will not be able to pass without the best. Tonight we will enjoy with the big names of today's music, they are here just for you tonight: B.B. King-Billie Holiday-Alberta Adams-T-Bone Walker..

And now the man who made this story possible, the man who opened the doors of this club to us, your host and owner of the Blue Room, Mr. Stefan Babić Babs."

All the guests stood up and greeted Babs on stage with loud applause.

Stefan Babic Babs

''Thank you, thank you, first of all I want to thank you all for being here tonight in such numbers, I'm glad to see you. I know you're all impatient for a crazy time, so I won't go on, I just want to thank my friends and business partners who helped me and were with me while this story was being created and built. If it weren't for them, there wouldn't be a Blue Room... So enjoy the music, food and booze. I wish you a good time.

Babs raised his glass aloft and toasted everyone present with the words ''CENTO ANNI''
The party could start..

Whoa, Babs, the Blue Room looks amazing! That's a seriously big place you've got there. A ten-meter bar? Now that's what I'm talking about. I might give a low whistle.

And those secret rooms you mentioned... sounds like things could get interesting back there. Poker, blackjack... and, uh, those other ladies? You definitely know how to keep people entertained, Babs.

Looking around at everyone showing up, doctors, businessmen, even some guys I know from around, it feels like you've really hit on something good here. Bringing all sorts together in one place.

This Blue Room... it feels like it's going to be around for a long time. 'Cento Anni' to that, my friend.

"Cento Anni!"

Fulmineo couldn't help but be very impressed with the Club his Sponsor had just opened up. He called it a club, but really it felt more like a palace dedicated to the nightlife and entertainment. When he saw the guest list and the celebrity performers that would be entertaining them for opening night, he knew without a doubt in his mind that The Blue Room would be the place to be for the night.

As soon as he had walked in, a glass of the finest liquor in the city magically found its way to his hand, after all the drinks were available right from the front door, and Fulmineo was already ready to party and celebrate his boss's mind blowing accomplishment.

After the toast, Fulmineo made his way over to Babs with two drinks in hand and offered one to Babs.

"Hey, boss man, you did good. The place looks wonderful. I think I've found a new spot to hang out in after 'work' " Fulmineo said in congratulations. "You're gonna be sick of me, I'll be here so much."

Fredo stood up from his table, where he was sitting with a few associates and ladies of the evening. As he raised a cold glass of Seven and Seven to toast Babs, a familiar laugh and voice caught his ear. It was Mayor Albert Cobo. The Mayor had been ignoring Fredo for some time, evading phone calls and dismissing personal friends of Fredo's who had been sent to his office. Fredo set his drink down and walked over to the Mayor's table. The Mayor looked at Fredo with a shocked expression and stuttered, "Fredo, I...I...I didn't know you would be here." Fredo began to chuckle and responded, "You really didn't think I'd be here? That's funny. I didn't know you were going to be here either. So, let's get down to business. I'll be at your office at 9 am tomorrow. Don't make me come looking for you. This deal needs to be done, and I'm not going to disrespect this club, not tonight. See you tomorrow, Mayor." Fredo walked away from the Mayor's table, clapping loudly for Babs. He took a seat and started drinking again.

After giving his congratulations, Fulmineo grabbed a table in the club and sat down with his drink. He wasn't a big drinker, but he could still enjoy the ambiance. He was about to attempt to get one of the waitresses attention and order some grub, when he spotted a familiar face, already living it up in the new club. Drinks and ladies galore. Yup, Fredo Trapani never failed to live up to his name. Fulmineo couldn't help but smirk as he watched Fredo work the Mayor. He'd heard tell that the politician had been ducking the Family for a while now and now it was finally time to pay the piper.

"How'd this guy ever get to be the Mayor?" Fulmineo wondered to himself. He didn't think that Fredo would show up to Babs' opening night? Fulmineo shook his head and then raised a glass to Fredo before finally placing his food order. After a long day of running the streets, a stiff drink and a decent meal was exactly the medicine he needed. But he was still careful to not get too inebriated...one never knew what could go down. Like how the Mayor would react to his unplanned run in with Fredo Trapani himself.

One thing's for sure, The Blue Room was already the city's hottest ticket.

The door creaked open just enough for a silhouette to step through. A heavyset figure in a worn canvas jacket paused at the entrance, one hand still resting on the brass handle. Dust clung to his boots like an old memory. The kind of man who didn't rush anywhere, because he always arrived exactly when he meant to.

Vinny Bongiovanni took a moment, letting the bass from the band roll over him like concrete being poured. The room was alive, humming with chatter, saxophone, and cigarette smoke. He scanned the crowd, big shots and sharp suits, dames dressed like sin and salvation, then moved toward the bar with the kind of deliberate pace that made space open up ahead of him.

He didn’t need a table.

Didn’t need fanfare.

Didn’t need to be seen.

But he made damn sure he was noticed.

Sliding onto a barstool, he nodded to the barkeep. “Whiskey. Neat. Something with teeth.”

As the glass arrived, Vinny turned slightly, elbow resting on the counter, surveying the room like a man appraising a work site. His eyes settled briefly on the stage, then drifted toward the back corridors, just long enough to make someone wonder what he might know.

He didn’t say much. Didn’t have to.

But if Babs noticed him tonight, and she would, she’d know that Vinny “The Builder” was in the city... and not just for the nightlife.

Just for a drink. For now.

But concrete has a way of setting when you least expect it.

Lucia had entered the building after being forced to line up outside with everyone else, already half cut and taking bumps of a white substance off the side of her closed fist to keep her going.

The large doors opened as security checked people before letting them enter, Lucia walked through, tailgating a taller man in front of her, a small time criminal in her area, known for thieving and drug deals, although only a small part of the operation, never one of the big guns running the show.

She walked up to the bar, ordered her usual vodka and red bull and made her way to the corner of the bar. Tight fitted black trousers with a matching crop top style shirt and white air force trainers. The typical look of someone with her background she was sure.

The Blue Room was already thumping; sax on the stage, heels clicking across marble, the whole joint sweating perfume and ambition. A ten-meter bar gleamed like it had just been baptized. Every table was filled with faces that had names worth knowing or debts worth collecting.

Then the doors sighed open again.

In shuffled a man who looked like he’d taken a wrong turn at a laundromat. Cardigan drooping like tired wallpaper, slippers squeaking soft against polished floorboards, sunglasses on though the room was lit more by smoke than bulbs. He dragged a burlap sack, the round weight inside knocking gently against his knee.

TheDude.

He paused, gave the crowd a lazy once-over, and muttered to no one in particular:
“Man, I don’t even think this is league night.”

A couple heads turned. Suits frowned. A dame with a feather in her hat gave a small laugh. But TheDude didn’t care; he just wandered toward the bar, slipping between doctors, mobsters, and mayors like he was made of mist.

“White Russian,” he told the barkeep, leaning with both elbows on the marble like he might nap there. “Heavy on the, uh… Russian part. Milk’s optional, man.”

The barkeep raised a brow but poured.

Drink in hand, TheDude swiveled slow on the barstool, surveying the spectacle. Babs on stage, the big shots flashing smiles, deals whispered over cigars. It was loud, sharp, buzzing with intent. And in the middle of all that, TheDude was an island of slouch.

He took a sip, grimaced faintly, and nodded to himself.
“Yeah… this place’ll do.”

And with that, he leaned back, cardigan slipping lower, as if The Blue Room had just become one more alley in his endless bowling lane of fate.

Because TheDude?
TheDude abided.

As the night carried Alpha through, he needed a spot to stop, relax and think. Alpha pushed open the heavy door and stepped into the kind of place that didn't need a name, as one look inside told you it was the place to be. Music was rolling in waves, smoky air and the crowd was the citys cream where you could see all - suits, hustlers, mafiosos, drifters and many more - all chasing the same dream.

Alpha found a corner table where the glow hit the middle of the table, leaving the rest in quiet obscurity - a perfect spot for Alpha who preferred to observe. The waitress approached with the kind of ease that comes from working many nights, days and years. Alpha mentions in a neutral voice while lighting his cigarette "Double shot bourbon" and "Peanuts, if you have got any". The waitress nodded, professional, but you could tell she had some sort of curiosity looking at Alpha.

She came back swiftyl, like she knew he wasn't here to waste time. Alpha tipped her without breaking his gaze from the room. The glass was cold, the bourbon was warmer than he expected. He took a sip, leaned back and lit a cigarette. There was a couple of hours still for him to go to catch his flight back home.

He wa watching and listening. Because the room and atmoshphere was speaking, not words but in the habits, glances and trades too subtle to catch unless paying attention.

Alpha was paying attention.
