So.. its finally getting close to the end of the 11/12 seasons Champions League.

There are 8 teams left.

SL Benfica
Arsenal FC
APOEL FC
FC Barcelona
Marseille
FC Bayern München
Real Madrid
Chelsea

Obviously everyone would want to pick Bareclona; So I've opted to do a Sweepstake on the remaining teams. Once there are 8 participants I will draw the teams at random. This is open to anyone, you don't need to know anything about Football (soccer) to play, so if you fancy the gamble then feel free!

Price of a ticket is $1 million. All proceeds go to the winning team, I'm not taking any cut at all. I will also do the draw of teams on IRC with participants present and will show the numbers assigned in the Back Alley Thread post draw to ensure everyone can see the draw is fair.

If there are more than 8 requests, I will do more than one set (in blocks of 8, obviously.. first come first served. If there are 12 tickets purchased for instance the last 4 to buy would be refunded as there wouldn't be enough for a 2nd gror
Limit of 1 ticket PER GROUP.

I think I've covered all the details, if anyone has any questions feel free to contact me.

I'll have 100million on Arsenal :P

ROFL.

Erm.. yeah. By Arsenal I of course actually meant AC Milan. (well AC were founded by Englishmen at least!)

I'm in no fucking problem.

3 entries so far folks. It appears I left out one vital piece of info;

Next round takes place in a little under 2 weeks. The draw will be done the Monday before (matches are Tuesday and Wednesday) at the very latest, so anyone wishing to take part must pay before then or they won't be included.

Please note inclusion is only once you pay; if 8 people pay but 9 people say they want in, the one yet to pay loses out automaticly - even if they were first to ask.

Well to be fair we can't have PJ winning the pot so I will have to have a go. APOEL would be perfect for me I can still remember winning a sweepstake with Greece, I nearly threw it in bin when I received it.

Hahaha, well Greece were considered major underdogs despite being the Host Everwinter, APOEL have a rich owner throwing millions into the team so although an outsider, they certainly have a chance!

Its a shame it can't be like horse racing and have the betting without Messi

5 out of 8 are currently sold.

6 out of 8 now.

7 out of 8 places now sold.

count me in cheif

All 8 places are now gone.

As stated before though - if others wish to participate im happy to open another block of 8. If I don't get another full 8 (e.g. only 6 people participate) then money will be returned.

Teams Drawn by DesperateDan;

PoisonousJelly 2 - AC Milan
WankBack 5 - Marseille
Everwinter 1 - SL Benfica
-Jax 3 - APOEL FC
DesperateDan 6
Corrado-Soprano 4 - Real Madrid
MissPiggy 8 - FC Bareclona
Dante_Balboni 7 - FC Bayern Munich

Best of luck folks!

As I said already; anyone else wishes to participate im happy to open another block of 8. I'm not making any money out of this. Just like there to be an added interest when watching the football.

Results from First Leg of Quarter Finals. Not a good time for Home Teams

looks like im on for a winner :) unless messi produces some magic in the second leg

Messi will come good, he was quiet last night by his standards, but that was down to how well Milan worked defensively imo. Ambrosini and Nesta were always on top of Messi, even once Nesta knew he'd let him slip past so throw his body at him and wrapped his legs round him, cost him a booking and gave Barca a free kick, but I guess he thought it was worth the risk at the time!
