It's early morning. Fredo is drinking a cup of coffee at his café, watching the sun rise over Detroit as its rays sweep across his face with each passing moment. After a fun night of gambling and drinking with friends, a man named Luca comes to the café with a message: Fredo has been summoned for a meeting with the heads of the Ligambi family to discuss the future of Corktown. After finishing his coffee, Fredo bids farewell to his niece, Marie, and leaves his jewelry and wallet behind - just in case. Most of the time, when you're sent for, you don't come back. Fredo leaves the café and motions for his driver, Sam. They both get into his car and head to the meeting. Fredo tells Sam that if he doesn't return, he should keep the car and the café. They arrive at a small social club on the east side. Fredo exits the vehicle and walks inside, where he's led to the back room where Don Joe Ligambi, Jimmy, and Giacomo are waiting. There's a brief stare and sense of tension, but a moment later, Joe breaks the tension, laughing and saying, "Stupid fuck thought he was getting whacked." The group begins laughing about the moment, and the meeting begins. A few things are discussed, and when it's over, Fredo walks out of the social club as the new capo of Corktown. He lights a cigarette, staring into the sky, and takes a long drag and mutters "Fuck my wallet".
