Optimus had been in a meeting when the call came through.  His long time friend and boss, Shifty had died whilst trying to protect himself from the rogue, Katerina.  It took more than a minute for him to comprehend what this meant, not only for himself but for the organisation as a whole.  Excusing himself, he went and threw up.

Already calls were coming in from friends with offers to protect their friends, people recruited to other organisations.  Optimus wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do.  So he did what did best…he called his driver and went to his bar.  HIS bar, the one place he knew he’d be safe, and one of the few places in the area that didn’t water down their drinks.  Eventually his oldest friend, MaddyPerez joined him.

He told her his plans, or at least he tried to as the whiskey began to kick in.  When he came to something resembling the end, she’d looked at him and said,

“It’s always been your biggest strength and probably your greatest weakness – you care too much about this thing we exist in!”

“Maybe I do, but if not me then who?  People depend on us”

“So you think I’m mad?”

After that everything moved far quicker than he imagined, calls were made to Scousepole in Philly, and a plan was agreed, details to be finalised once the rogue shooter was removed.
