Secondly, since we have had a massive turn out of nearly 80 fighters. We will be hosting preliminary rounds until we are down to 32 fighters. That will be our actual "Golden Glove" tournament, when we will begin hosting betting. I'm sorry we won't be able to accomidate live action betting as much as we liked, but contrary to popular belief some of us do have lives and simply can't dedicate that kind of time, without truly dragging the event on, which is nobodys goal. We want to see a winner crowned, and this prize money handed out to the community! I appreciate your understanding, best of luck to you all.

Just one of many shouts heard. Marty keeps his posture and eyes locked on the ring, glancing over at his opponent eyeing him up and down as he ducks his head under the rope and steps into the ring. The coaches give their respected fighters a once over and prep talk before the Ref calls the fighters to the middle of the ring to go over the rules.

Keep it clean gentlemen, nothing below the belt and NO punching in the back of the head!

Marty extends his dominant hand out, bumping fists with Skootz.

Alright fighters! Return to your corners and wait for the bell. 

It couldn't have been no longer then fifteen seconds before the bell went off, during that time Marty thought of how much he appreciated his coach... Marty was just another degenerate gambler with a substance abuse problem. His coach made him sober up and dry out, Marty's work ethic slowly started to bear its fruits as he trained constantly everyday leading up to the preliminaries.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Goes the sound of the bell. Marty quickly takes up his fighting stance, "The Philly shell" moving in bobbing and weaving getting a read on his opponent before firing off with two quick jabs, left right... Skootz times his counter punch at the perfect moment. SMACK, right between Marty's eyes, Marty stumbles back quickly shaking the heavy blow off. Marty breathes in out from his nostrils stepping right back into his opponent's pocket, slipping a heavy uppercut through Skootz guard knocking him back... Marty keeps Skootz at bay for the duration of the first round. 

Round two 

 It appears Skootz has already been wore down sustaining a bit too much damage in the first round.

Two minutes in Marty baits Skootz with the same left, right straight jab combination instead this time when Skootz throws his left hook counter-punch Marty ducks under flying back up with a dangerous uppercut connecting with Skootz chin.

Dropping him like a sack of potatoes.

That's what I'm talking about, Chicago baby! Marty shouts out well the adrenaline is high, the referee rushes in quickly calling off the fight. Paramedics on the sideline rush in as Skootz lays knocked out cold, they eventually remove Skootz on a stretcher. 

The first preliminary round of the West Coast Golden Gloves did not go for Ian as he had expected; sure, he walked out with a victory...but narrowly. He would have to consult his family Journals as he was fairly sure that an ancestor of his - also named Ian - had placed quite favorably in a Boxing Competition from years past. Perhaps he'd be able to pick up some tricks for his second preliminary round fight vs Santa.

Ian ran the odds quickly; he was taller and leaner than Santa, but that beard could potentially deflect a lot of damage on face shots... Ian snapped out of it and immediately left for the Gym. 

Vito had been lost in the haze of booze, dice games, and late-night bootycalls. Days slipped by as he danced with vice, and in the shadows, his war with Sensori was all but forgotten. He trained little, ate less, and let the fire in his gut grow cold 

HD fields questions about his performance from the local media. Cameras flash, a cacophony of syllables and sounds from all directions flooded Huffin's ear holes. He looked at his associate and nodded. His associate pointed to one of the reporters and a slow gradient of silence crept over the crowd. His associate booms:

One question, make it count.

The associate points to a reporter and he begins to speak:

Mr. Duster, I'm Jamie McMillan from the Chicago Tribune. Quickly, if I may, how did you feel about your performance against Jessica this past week and what can we look forward to in regards to an unusual pairing of you against your employer and friend Father "The Bear Whisperer" O'Malley?

The crowd chuckled, HD let out a sly smile at the nick name.

Jessica is a good fighter, but with that said, it was closer than I wanted, and much closer than my corner expected- so it's clear we have some work to do. As far as Father_OMalley is concerned, I know he's been itching to sock me right in the kisser for a long time so I'm excited he finally gets his chance. He is a little older, so we're looking at speed and stamina as advantages- something that would be hard for O'Malley to improve in the short time he has to train during this grueling fight schedule.

Fight Report: TheDude vs. Iamjustababy

Description:

The crowd weren’t quite sure what they were watchin’, man. TheDude wandered into the ring like he’d taken a wrong turn at the snack bar. Saggin’ cardigan, couch-fabric trunks, duct-taped slipper flappin’ on one foot—guy looked less like a fighter and more like somebody’s uncle gettin’ up for a midnight pee. He’s grinnin’ lazy, thermos in hand, like the whole thing’s just a misunderstanding.

Round 1:
Bell rings, Iamjustababy comes out throwin’ heat, tryin’ to make quick work of this pajama-clad mystery. TheDude? He’s just… kinda swayin’ around like a shopping cart with a busted wheel. Somehow, every wild flail he chucked found the mark, bustin’ Baby up good. By the end of the round, Baby’s lookin’ like someone who’s seen the abyss, while TheDude just mutters somethin’ about “strikes and gutters, man.”

Round 2:
Baby comes out swingin’ hard, lands a few clean shots—got TheDude reelin’, cardigan almost slippin’ off his shoulder. But that’s just part of the style, y’know? The Drunken Abide. Baby gassed himself out throwin’ haymakers while TheDude’s hummin’ some Creedence tune under his breath. Then it happened—The White Russian Shuffle. A lazy stagger forward, a stumble to the side, and WHAM—gravity did the rest. Baby hit the canvas like a 7-10 split.

Outcome:
Winner by 2nd Round KO: @TheDude.

And as the crowd roared, TheDude just blinked, sipped from his thermos, and shrugged like it was all pre-ordained. “The Dude abides,” he said, and shuffled off in his duct-taped slipper.

Shane was bruised and bloody, but managed to give enough of a fight to Eala for the referee to stop and call the match. He felt the blood coursing strongly through his veins, adrenaline at an all-time high. And he had a lot of blood all over his face, between his own and Eala's blood.  He saw that Eala got up with their coach afterwards, limping but in good spirit. Shane approached Eala and gave them a handshake and whispered, "You put up a hell of a fight, I'll give you that."
