A few weeks prior:

TomJoad had one of the local business owners close down for the night for a special dinner. Nobody was entirely sure what it was supposed to be about; Ian was fairly certain that the boss was about to announce his everlasting love for them all. It would have been completely out of character, but the old man had been acting strange as of late...

Illuminatiated bounced between the HQ's within Chicago as he gathered the list of people that TomJoad had requested; Key, Roley, Hush, Rue, Quotas, BobTheBuilder, MartyBlack, Skootz, MollyMalone, Meltdown, ZaneLaZara, jimmy-the-gent, JimCasy, Clouds, Bryan-, Gip, Tsaydaychuz, PaddyPitruzzello, MrGordon, MisterBlonde, Ragnarok, EdwinBarlow, Father_OMalley, Corey, HuffinDuster, and Jessica. Ian double and triple checked the list, unsure why so many of them were being gathered at the same time. It took awhile but eventually the group made their way to the #Chicago Coffee Shop. 

TomJoad waited a few moments for the general ruckus to simmer down before making an announcement. 

"I've entered the lot of you into the West Coast Golden Gloves event being hosted by Dean-Winchester. Don't let me down."

Saying no more, Tom simply nodded and went back to the HQ.

Recent Day:

Father OMalley had since stepped up to the plate of Godfather Chairman; word around town was that TomJoad wanted to focus on the upcoming fights. The Preliminary Round fight list was posted for Round 1 and it was quite the topic of discussion amongst the Chicago underworld. No fewer than four fights in the opening round were Chicago vs Chicago fights. Ian hoped that after the fights were over, the people involved would be able to separate their boxing careers from their criminal ones.

Current Day:

The first Preliminary round of the West Coast Golden Gloves had been completed. The four Chicago vs Chicago fights were tough to watch for the Chicago members in the crowd; but it was confirmed later via private investigator that many of the contestants had been seen passing beer bottles between them. HuffinDuster won their fight over Jessica. Father_OMalley prevailed over Corey. TomJoad wrecked Bryan- and the youngster MartyBlack rose his hand in victory over Skootz. 

Ian gathered the people from Chicago who would be advancing to the next round and handed out bags of ice.

"Overall, nice showing out there. Let's be sure to keep things business as usual as this thing progresses, yeah?"

You know, growing up my daddy always used to tell me not to trust anyone. You think you can trust them, but then someone from their corner gives you an electrolyte drink right before a big fight, and it tastes a little funny. Next thing you know, you can’t remember what happened for a couple days.
