Frankie was walking down a back alley looking for a cheap place to flip some drugs, and see's a leather book laying in the gutter next to a dead guy with an angry look on his face; He picks it up and begins to read aloud as a few people show up to listen

An Axe Murderers Widowers Diary

10/07/08 an order of events

Just getting home from a long day at the office and I grab the Obits, I see several big names in the community dead; especially members of my own Family.

Head to the mailbox, and to check my messages...trying to get info as to what is going on...nothing

Head to the bathroom to clean up a small flesh wound I received from some hoodlum in a mask. (I didn't even notice the wound until now...amateurs)

After waiting next to the phone for some instruction and not receiving any, I decide to head to the shooting range, to blow off some steam.

While on my way home from the range I see my boss, laughing it up at a Bar, drinking and having a good time. Wow, some nerve this guy...living the good life without a care in the world while his family is getting slaughtered in the streets. Now I am upset. What the hell am I supposed to do now? Defend my Boss who obviously doesn't give shit about his family?

At this point its pretty much to late for the family, there is myself the RHW and the Boss still alive, not many others. I pick up the phone and make a call to a friend of a friend, I have a feeling that I am not going to make it much longer...could I please seek refuge in your family once they finally find my Boss and kill him. I receive my invitation and hold it close to me for that moment I need it.

Just got shot at again by the faceless stranger, bastard. How could he though? It was only 3 hours ago I was shot. Oh right, trained the gun...no more protection. Over looking that could have been fatal.

Oh well, I have another 4 hours now to BS and take the till from the local 7-11.

My phone rings, what do you know...it's the Boss, finally some info into what is going on. "Hello?" I say, "Locals in your city, please" he replies

Hmm, I guess not.. Sure I'll take a look around, let him know where I am (N.O.)

Little time goes by he calls back:

"Hello?"

"Can you fly?" he asks

"Not for another 1 hours"

He hangs up...strange. I am getting frustrated at this point, still no info...

Some time passes...next call

"Hello?"

"I need you to prowack me"

"I'm training, I can't shoot"

"When did you start"

"5 hours ago" I say

"You can shoot, get auth"

"Okay, you're the Boss"

I am pissed...I still have no idea what's going on and the only thing I get is "protect me"...what the fuck did you do for the rest of us...I mean I realize that I am here to protect the boss, but some info would be nice for crying out loud.

I pick up the phone and call the opposing side to hand them my Boss on a silver platter. Or so I thought

I give the following information:

"My boss wants me to prowack him, I'm not to thrilled with him so I am giving him up, I am in NO and cant fly due to training...I can't shoot either but he insists I can...he is going to shoot then fly to New Orleans. I hang up."

Boss says, the guy I was going to shoot at is protected, can you get me the locals list for NO again. Sure I say, give him the list then pick up the phone.

"He's just tried to shoot at King, and he's protected, he is flying to New Orleans now to shoot." On hold for a few minutes. "first guy he tried to shoot is proed, he's looking for another shot. The reply I get is "thanks" "Te he he, he tried to shoot me as well, te he he..."

"Okay he's shooting now!!" tic tic tic tic

I wait a good 20 seconds before I pulled the trigger (even though I didn't' think I could shoot anyway, but had to prove I couldn't when he died) and when I do...

Falure.

On the other end of the line I hear "Where is he?"

...

Are you fucking serious!?!

Now I don't know who I am more disgusted with, my boss for not telling his family that they are getting murder and then heading out to dinner. Then asking me to "not refresh, just shoot once, I'll let you know when I have shot"

ORRRR the opposing side that couldn't figure out how to get on a freaking plane to New Orleans to be able to shoot this guy, when they had tons of time to do it.

I guess my priorities are different; I can't help but shake my head at the lack of organization that goes into "today's" families. Old school families were WAY more organized.

Now I see the bullet coming at me for "protecting" my boss...nice, how much more of your job do you need me to do, eh?

Oh well, I guess it's time for my long anticipated rest...

Wow, quite the predicament, poor guy, at least hes in a place that he doesn't have to worry about any of this anymore.
Report Post Tip
That is an interesting story. That poor guy leaves us because of some idiots that do not know how to fly or shoot. This kind of stuff, sometimes makes me want to shoot everybody. But being a well respected mafiso, I hold on and breathe.

RIP CM

Sad statement describing those that are suppose to be the elite among us.

Oh well, just another day in paradise.

"RIP CM, "

A true solider, you can't buy loyalty like that. His next of kin would be a catch for any leader.
Report Post Tip
Are you being sarcastic, Dr Feelgood? Or did you just miss the part where he was looking for a new crew before his Boss was even dead. Oh, and the whole part about trying to have his Boss killed. I'm not sure "loyalty" was the right choice of words. In any case, I wouldn't WANT to buy that kind of loyalty.
Report Post Tip
Seems to me, that it was hard to be loyal to anyone involved...as no one was really worth the loyalty.
Report Post Tip
I was being quite serious. The man had every right to be the way he was. He waited like a good loyal member waiting for some sort of instructions. When noticing his leader had more then enough time to give some sort of information as to what is going on, and getting none. I understand where the loyalty for the man would be lost. In all my parents generation the leaders that my grandparents always respected most was the ones that left their members with some sort of information. When you notice your boss can't care enough to inform you or your brethren to even a small sit-rep why should you show any more loyalty? A leader who can throw away lives of his members without any sign of trying doesn't deserve to be a leader.

Did he maybe go about this the wrong way? Of course handing your boss over is the highest breach of Omerta, but when your leader doesn't give two shits about his underlings why should the underling waste all their hard work training their way up to the 7-11's and to get their fellow men out of the brig when they are rotting? Desperate time's call for desperate measures. Perhaps a bit too desperate but he wasn't far off the mark.

I stand by my words an excellent member, who's life just wasn't worth enough to his boss. I'm sure under different circumstances he would be a great addition to any family. Loyalty goes both ways. And unfortunately this one bad experience has lost a mafioso of great potential.
Report Post Tip
I'm disappointed that you feel that way. It's a sad sign of the times.

Loyalty does NOT go both ways! What kind of dream world are you living in? A leader does not owe anything to those who work for him. It's the other way around. If not for your Boss, you would be living in a fucking garbage can eating rotten fruit, and probably getting shot at. That doesn't mean a good Boss wouldn't have handled matters differently, but no matter how he handles his crew, it is still just that - HIS CREW. He should be able to expect loyalty from those who work for him.

Was he a shit Boss? Sure he was, but as the dead man's letter states, so were those who were hunting him. At the end of the day, all you have is your reputation. Reputations are built by standing by your family, whether you agree with their actions or not!
Report Post Tip
Loyalty does go both ways. You still must respect your boss for keeping you safe. You should thank him with your every fiber for it. But when it does come down to it, if a leader disrespects his family that much then you can't honestly expect everyone in the family to stay truthful to the man.

As you pointed out though both sides of this case were terrible, under more normal circumstances it would be commendable. The man would be praised for such actions to help take down someone who does not deserve their spot. Which from my point of view would help his reputation rather then tarnish it.
Report Post Tip
Praised, maybe, but praised by who? It would be the enemy who praised him, while members of his own family cursed him as a traitor.

It is not the place of the associate to judge whether or not a Boss is worthy to lead. This might not sound "fair" to you, but until you are a mademan, and even after that, you should be a monkey who does little more than nods his head and jumps when the Boss says to jump. Even after becoming a true member, the Boss' word is still supreme.

This thing of ours will fall apart on the day that the Gangsters and Goombas among us begin to dictate our leader's actions. As long as this is ORGANIZED crime, the hierarchy must be respected. You don't have to like your Boss. You don't have to agree with him. You don't have to respect him, even. But you must SHOW respect, whether it is sincere or not, and if you are a loyal mafioso, you will not betray your family under any circumstances. I would think a Fuckerish soldier would understand this.
Report Post Tip
Very good point, but their is a point where certain actions must be taken. For example TylerDurden of years past. His very own Right hand and several other hierarchy members were dissatisfied with his actions. So they took it upon themselves to rid the streets of him. And when the dust was settled they were allowed to operate as a family. I agree your boss MUST be shown respect but there comes a point where the line must be drawn. This of course is an extreme measure and should be only used when appropriate. Which is very rare event, but it is an inevitable that at some point a coup must be called, but as I mention very extreme and should be used as a last resort.

I have a feeling that FP wouldn't feel complete without playing devils advocate. Tis why i like the debates. Can't help but wonder if he took the other side of the debate, if his bases would be

"This is the mafia, Bosses get attempted to be over thrown all the time, if you think you can do a better job than your boss is doing..then do something about it"
Report Post Tip
Perhaps, Mr Figs. Perhaps. ;O)
Report Post Tip
I would contend that if he truly was ranting ("As The Pig Rants") he would have signed off with his customary line.
