| BREAK: Make @'s in post written in Back Alley work | Started by: SimonTheSwanHunter on Sep 11, '25 09:19 |

When you write a post in Back Alley and then move it to the streets @s don't transfer across. Could you make it so that when it is transferred from Back Alley to the forums the @s tag the people named? |

Please walk us through all the scenarios and how you see it being handled so that it does not double notify or null out previous notifications. At the time of the posting, the game doesn't know your intention. It doesn't know if you want notifications to go then, or later, if its staged and private, or staged and public, or final and public, or final and private. What do we do when the thread is made, but moved much later when some of the recipients are dead. What do we do with replies that contain notifications. What do we do with replies that contain notifications from other users to other users who have you blocked. What do we do with replies that contain notifications from other users to other users who they have blocked. What do we do when the thread is created and a user is set to be notified, but has since died and the name has been recycled now its a different person. There are tons of little 'gotchas' that you guys have to fully explore so that we can determine if this is a 1h job, or ends up being 30 hours of forum rewriting, bumping 29 other fixes off the list. How this is handled in the new game isn't able to be done here without an epic amount of work, so make sure you work out all scenarios so that we can determine if this can happen or not. |

Sorry, I didn't think this would be a big thing to sort. No need to walk through all the scenarios or bump anything off the list use your break for something else that is a quick fix! |

Theres a chance there isn't going to be 100 things to do during this break, so, if this is importrant to you guys, flesh it out and if there is leftover time we can start doing the bigger things that are already primed and ready to hit the ground running. |

In all honesty Squishy I hadn't considered all of those variables - can't say that a simple solution comes to mind. |
