Currently, when admins host IRC competitions they drop links that reward credits if players follow instructions correctly. Not following instructions can already result in death, which keeps things entertaining. I’d like to suggest introducing a new type of link that creates duels between players. How it would work • Two players need to click the link. • Once both have clicked, they are immediately matched in a duel to the death. • The winner survives and takes the prize. • The loser dies. Why this would be fun • Players wouldn’t know who they’re matched against until the duel begins, creating suspense and engagement. • It could be anyone, a brand new character or a top gun, which makes it exciting to watch. • Friends could even end up fighting one another, which could create hilarious and memorable moments. • It would add a layer of chaos • It could also change game dynamics by forcing unexpected deaths and creating ripple effects in wars and city balance. This feels like a light but impactful addition that could make IRC events more engaging and also influence the wider game in unpredictable ways. |

I like the idea & the chaos aspect but think the prizes would need to be so massive they would throw something out of whack somewhere. Surely no one is going to throw a big account into the ring for a Quad or credits? I think we used to do something along a similar line which was a Russian roulette type theme. 1 in 6 risk of death for a stats boost. |
