I fear time is short, however I would like to ask this whilst I am still free to roam the streets in relative safety. Again my question is to the Family head\'s or those who are able to speak on behalf of the Family head\'s. You may if you wish open this up, on a separate street corner if you would be so kind, to those within your Family. That is for the Family head\'s to decide of course. Sooo... my question is this. What makes your Family the Family of choice to the unsponsored mobster on the Street? I mean, there are currently six people overseeing either a full Family or a Captaincy, what is it that should attract people to one or the other? If you can, without drawing the attention of the police or FBI, please tell me a little about your businesses, your ideals, what it is that makes your Family a Family and not another crew with a hard (wo)man leading the pack down a dark path? As I said, it may be that those under you can answer this question with a different perspective, however I would ask, if I may, that you answer first, or direct me to another street corner were your Family members will be telling me all about YOUR Family. ~blob5 |

Many people will tell you that the difference between a family and a crew is based on the relationships and bonding that exists between those who work together. There have been members of my bloodline who even believed this. It's an appealing notion, that we can grow that close to someone. It's something we all want in our lives. However...it is complete bullshit. Our use of the term "family" in La Cosa Nostra relates to the similarities between familial relationships and our working relationships. Specifically, that of loyalty. "Blood is thicker than water". Also "Once you are in, you are never out". Both of these things are true of both types of families. The use of the term "Family" in La Cosa Nostra is an analogy to group of siblings and parents. It does not, however, connote that there must be a warm and fuzzy sentiment. We are not warm and fuzzy people. We are hard, cold mobsters who are capable of horrible things in order to perpetuate our own existence and to profit. The terms "family" and "crew" are definitional in nature. A "family" is headed by a Boss. A "crew" is headed by a Capo. That's it! That's the only difference. You can argue with me until you are blue in the face, but what I say is true, no matter what sentimental definitions you insist upon giving the terms. What makes my family appealing to potential applicants is that there is trust among us. Each of us knows, without a doubt, that we can count on each other in a pinch. No one is looking out for their own best interests. It is always about what is best for the family. We also have incredibly competent and experienced people in most of the positions in the family. Having this level of experience, those at the top of the structure can rest assured that the lower level decisions made are wise ones. No second guessing is necessary. That's about all I have to say about our family. It's really nobodies business until they become brought into the fold. To quote another cliche, "what happens in the family, stays in the family". |

Thank you FlyingPig, I think you misunderstood my question, after all you have already made it abundantly clear that you don\'t like warm fuzzy feelings. But you have also answered the question as to what you believe sets your Family aside from the rest. Just to outline this for anybody who got lost in FlyingPig\'s insistence speech, he has stated... \"What makes my family appealing to potential applicants is that there is trust among us. Unfortunately it would seem somebody finally saw fit to successfully take the life of blob5 after two failed attempts, I will be continuing his experiments, and I look forward to hearing responses to his questions. ~blob6 |
