This is a subject that has always bothered me. Although, it's not for the reasons that some of you may assume. I don't know about you, but I am starting to get sick and tired of little squabbles regarding who picked whose pocket and who chased down and beat their assailant. My belief is that if you take the risk then you take the consequences, but that is neither here nor there. Getting back to the matter at hand, I am going to make it black and white for what you should expect on entering Las Vegas and being pick pocketed.

Rank is a thing I still hold dear to my heart as I would like to hope everyone else feels the same. So with that said I am going to bring back something my family helped co-create with the beautiful ScipitaRourke of old.

Here is how it will work...

If you are ranked between Gangster and Wise Guy then you are an associate of the family. Working for the button men and the rest of the crews upper structure. Basically put, If you are pick pocketed in my city and you don't like it I will not be helping you retrieve your money or your revenge. Now, some may say this is a tad harsh and each and every member is important etc etc. So let me stop you before you assume that I do not care about my associates. They are the back bone of a family for with out them there would be no earners and there would certainly be no future friends of ours. They still have to earn their right to be taken seriously with regards to pick pocketing. All that being said, I don't expect to find anyone under the rank of Made Man to be pick pocketing anyone above the rank of Made Man without permission. This just should not happen. These people have earned their right to not be bothered by associates.

Now when it comes to Made Man and above it's quite simple. If the assailant out ranks you then I will not attempt to do anything about it. Example, if you are a Made man and then pick pocketed by a Capo. This person out ranks you and nothing should be said about it. However if someone of an equal or lower rank pick pockets you, then we'll back you in your claim to returned funds and possible (though highly unlikely) retribution.

The tricky part is Right Hands and Left Hands and whether their rank out weighs their status or vice versa. This is obviously an argument on it's own that I will not delve in to here. However for the purpose of this rule a hand that is under the rank of Made Man shall be considered a Made Man. There is no fair way to do this and I think that should cover the rank vs status argument.

So for those that may not understand all that. If you're ranked anywhere from Gangster to Wise Guy and in Las Vegas you are fair game for pick pocketing. If you are any rank above Wise Guy, then you are only fair game to anyone ranked above you.

Most people that know me, know I enjoy dipping in and out of pockets. Those I normally steal from will find my spoils in their other pocket as the money in question is never my aim, however that doesn't stop many of these people from chasing me down, giving my ass a good kicking, and then sticking their hand in my own pocket - I've never once complained about this, not even when its family members giving me the beating.. why? If you decide to pick someones pocket, then for fuck sake be man enough to take the consequences whatever they may be.

I could not agree more with you Slash on that point It boggles my mind who some complain that hey such and such Mugged me back, Well you put your hand in there pocket in the 1st place bro get the fuck over it. I for one have been nbeaten up and its never bothered me and i to have replaced money that i took  i just enjoy the attempt much the same as you Slash

Paying homage to an old and honored set of rules, I applaud this move good sir. There should be honor among thieves and you're helping to reestablish that.

Have to agree with both Slash and Chris, I enjoyed pick pocketing and being mugged back if they saw me, its indication that my stealth is still on low level. It boggles my mind cause I dont think 5k will do such a harm , and the benefit of be able to mug back is much greater , but that just me.

I think the rule is clear.  It makes sense.  And hopefully it will result in less squabbling that you have to listen to.  I like it. 

This is a great addition to the rules of Vegas. Why people cry over something so harmless I will never understand. Ive been known to pick a few in my days and hell I have always just smiled and handed the money back.

Oh well guess as my momma used to say "It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round".

It's refreshing to see these rules being brought back for Vegas to not only end bullshit arguments but also restore some meaning to ranks. No wise guy should be fishing around in a bosses pocket, common sense fails us at times though.

I agree with the thought on payback too, tough shit. If you're afraid of it then stick to picking on the corrupt.

It's rules like this that make me proud to be an associate in the great city of Las Vegas. Of course, I've always been VERY pickpocket friendly(I rather like people sticking their hands in my pockets) so it shouldn't come as a shock to anyone that knows me that I like this new rule.
