GAME CHANGE: GFC & GF 11/20/25 Started by: Squishy on Oct 14, '25 21:01

Starting November 20th, how GF and GFC is earned and maintained is changing.  Anyone who obtains GFC prior to November 19th will keep their GFC  position and its benefits until their death or they step down from the rank.

From that point on, excluding those who are grandfathered in (godfathered in?), there will be a new hierarchy which is based on live data.  GF/GFC is not a position you earn and then relax on, its one that you earn and maintain  - it can be lost in a heartbeat to someone who puts in more effort than you, or simply backs enough voices that change the balance of power.  It can be lost with a bullet, a conversation, or even the stroke of a pen.

There will still be the XP/Age/Member Count requirement, but the position is bestowed upon whomever controls the collective of people who carry the most power in that particular area.  Every city can have up to 1 GFC.  The number of GF slots is based upon statistics of your city and can increase or decrease depending on its numbers. An Org/Family/Crew/Gang's profile will show their power and its breakdown, you can judge the moves needed to be made to overtake someone.

A glimpse into how it works:

GFC Jimmy's umbrella covers 38 people who have a collective XYZ456 of accumulated power.  Frank, who also operates out of the same city, has 41 people, but has slightly less power, a collective XYZ123.  Some of those who work under Jimmy are not feeling they are getting the best return out of their work, and are open to negotiating with Frank.  Frank, ever the opportunist, takes the time to wine and dine 2 of Jimmy's largest members, bring them into the fold, enters into a renewable weekly agreement with those 2 members, thus tipping the balance so that Jimmy no longer has the majority of the collective power under his umbrella.  He is no longer GFC and no longer receives any of the boosts for it. Frank has usurped Jimmy, and is now the new GFC.  Frank can try to leap frog off of this and try to consolidate even more power - widening the gap and shoring up his new lead.

Roo, once a rival on equal footing but fell behind, takes notice of Jimmy's reduction in power.  Never one to let others decide her fate, she puts a bullet into Jimmy's face.

Can you elaborate on "brings them into the fold"?  Are we talking about changing crews?

Report Post Tip

Interested to see how this develops. I worry that the fact there are no rivalries or competing crews within cities will limit the impact of it though.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

As a person fresh off the boat, you start doing low level crimes and earn a few bucks.  You are approached by an individual that reminds you that you are currently operating on his soil, but hes a fair man, and he will gladly let you continue to operate, but he wants his 10% of everything you do. You have a business relationship, you kick up a % share, and he provides you with a place to operate out of, as well as unique business opportunities that you are unable to get on your own.

He too has an upline, someone who provides a place to operate out of, and unique business opportunities that he would be unable to get on his own.  That relationship is measured only 1 week at a time.  Every week, both sides of the equation evaluate if this is the best situation for their own individual needs and the needs of those who depend on them.  If at any given time the grass looks greener on the other side, simply don't renew your agreement, and both walk freely away from each other. It is in your best interest to take care of your own needs and those who depend on you, if the scales ever tip away from that, move on.

This dynamic is a little different than how families are done now, it has a built in safety mechanism that, unless both parties believe their current arrangement is the best for both of them, the agreement expires and they are free to enter into an agreement with another.  This is business, dollars, not blood.

If you need to take another family out, you target their fierce loyalists, but you absorb their cash cows.

rivalries or competing crews within cities will limit the impact of it though.

When it comes to resources and power, it is a zero sum game.  Not everyone will be able (or willing) to stay in the goldilocks zone that makes it mutually beneficial for their neighbors.

Report Post Tip

This sounds like people are going to be killing anyone who doesn't "play ball". If this were to be the case are there going to be punishments for crewleaders doing this? If not, I fear this feature isn't really a feature and just actually a new reason for crew leaders to kill people.

Report Post Tip

I seem to be experiencing a comprehension issue. The more I read this the more I do understand, but I have a couple questions.

There will still be the XP/Age/Member Count requirement

Does this mean actual rank would not factor into the equation?  Will you be removing the ability for anyone to view how many units anyone has?

Report Post Tip

There will still be the XP/Age/Member Count requirement

You can not be GFC while 3 days old.

You can not be GFC with 9 units.

You can not be GFC with 1 member.

You can not be GFC if there is someone who is in your city and has more collective power than you.  They are the GFC.

Units will be shown like they currently are.

Report Post Tip

So it is the standard 90 days, 60 units.. Correct?

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip
Do HQ sizes change then? Hard for someone with 15 members to have more collective power than someone with 30?

Or does this play back to the whole contracts / fealty piece?

Yup, those aspects of the requirements stay exactly the same.

Report Post Tip
120 not 90*
So let's say I'm a lazy laid-back GF. And I don't care to be replaced. All I would have to do is kill those who are potentially able to replace me. Will it be that simple?
Report Post Tip
Or maybe I'm just not understanding as much as I thought with the changes. But I do see the intentions are good.
Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip
Your stating that members will be on a week by week basis of evaluation on both parties, and what they bring to the table and renew/not renew an "agreement" is that to be a coded in agreement like actually in a spot for 1 week?
Also im assuming that they would be locked in to that particular crew after the player reaches "MadeMan"?.
Report Post Tip

I gotta be honest, this feels entirely pointless.  From what I gather, this is to combat a city with a GFC and an upcoming GF that would rather be GFC.  How often is this even happening?  Seems that the two big issues right now are: lack of late-game activities to want to do, and distance matters making becoming a CL equate to losing shooting power.

Report Post Tip

I could be wrong but I saw it as a way to make sure that once someone obtains the rank of GFC that they keep working, not sit back and call it a day. An incentive not to sleep I guess.

I guess the real question would be is GFC an actual incentive?  What do you really get from it?

Report Post Tip

GFC is a current status, not a permanent rank.  It is given to whomever controls the most power in that city.  There are city/district settings as well as both tax and stat incentives to whomever is currently the top dog for that city.

Report Post Tip

Now this is some interesting game play! I may have to come back for this!
