Since people often flock to main to join RATs, instead of RATs dying after the failing the first round maybe try this: -some one shoots the first rat -the pools not full enough to run a second round -instead of ending instantly -the “rat retreats to gather the horde”. -Main members have a minute to get chatting if they want a proper RAT..
or
A minute before a RAT starts, have everyone currently in the pool hear “chittering in the distance” and give them a minute to gather the troops… |

Since they appear spontaneously it could give people a chance to actually chat around for once. Could also be tweaked so they appear more when people are chatting a lot versus few or zero appearing when nobody has talked for an hour or so. |

Time is a problem here.. It's very hard to coordinate anything, when they randomly appear. |

I have a little spare time tonight, I'll add a little more logic to help trigger it when there is an uptick in activity, it's a step in the right direction - giving the players a little sway on spawning one. |
