Mayor McCheese Can't Win Started by: Mayor_McCheese on Apr 19, '12 17:59

Mayor McCheese steps out onto the busy and crowded street and nods to the various mobsters congregating on the corner. Eager to speak, he clears his throat and moves to the forefront of the crowd.

So the other day, my Don DeadlySin called me into the backroom of his front business and handed me a piece of paper with a name on it. "I need this taken care of," he said.  "Make this guy disappear." I told him it would be handled accordingly and went back to my shop to get my gun and gloves. I waited outside a bistro I knew of this guy to frequent until he finally stepped out a few hours later. He got into the passenger seat of a black Model T that was waiting for him outside. That was when I stepped up to the car window an put three bullets into his head...

The crowd erupts into laughter as they point and cackle mockingly at Mayor McCheese.

What's so funny about that?

Still laughing, one of the mobsters approaches Mayor McCheese.

Why are you standing in the middle of the streets talking about murder? Haven't you ever heard of Omertą?  Mobsters don't discuss their crimes in the middle of the street! There's civilians all around!

The mobster points over to a small group of fresh-off-the-boat civilians who are in the process of talking to mob bosses about joining the Mafia.  Embarrassed, Mayor McCheese shuffles off down an alley to another street corner where a mob boss is speaking to a group of people about a new Captain that had just recently set up a crew of his own in his city. Mayor McCheese recognizes the newly-appointed crewleader as a friend of his father's and smiles as he walks over to congratulate him.

I'd just like to say how happy I am to see you getting this great opportunity. Salut and I wish you the very best of...

Mayor McCheese's words are cut short by a series of groans from the crowd.

Why are you boring us a with your sentiments? Quit littering our streets with this drivel you dullard!

Mayor McCheese frowns as an angry member from the crowd hurls a bottle at him an tells him to go back to McDonaldland. He is promptly shot for disrespect.  A witty mobster approaches the dead body and throws some OOCitis medicine at the corpse as the crowd laughs at this hilarious reference.  A tear wells up in Mayor McCheese's eye as he saunters off to a nearby coffeeshop in shame. Admitting defeat, he decides to spend the rest of the day slapping his friends in the face with fish and pretending to laugh out loud at humor involving cookies. Meanwhile, another  mobster takes to the now desolate and vacated corner to speak about how nobody speaks in the streets anymore as associates from throughout the country flock back to the streets to blame the leaders. The good Mayor contemplates responding, then thinks better of it out of fear ridicule for beating a dead-horse or possibly mis-pronouncing a word and decides to post drug prices on the wall of his HQ instead.

His eyes open and the glace slowly starts to dissappear.

I fell asleep right around the time you had said, "and handed me a piece of paper with a name on it." Why exactly are you in the streets speaking about your family's business...as if the rest of the speech had hit him in a single moment he stops talking.

Slowly he walks over towards the supposed major and whispers into his ear as he casually passes by.

This one carries the mark of greatness. The passion in his voice, the purpose of his actions. One day he maybe spoke of with the likes of PizzaTheHut and Corky!

KissTheSky stands on the corner, listening as the speech is given. When it's finished, she applauds.

What a wonderful summation of the state of the streets these days. I definitely couldn't have summed it up this way. Thank you for coming out and speaking on it Mayor. I'm hoping that more people will follow your lead and step up and start making use of the streets once again. These streets are one of the biggest reasons my great great great great ancestors stuck around and encouraged their next of kin to return.

Thank you again for speaking up Mayor. Very eye opening.

"-"Caesar"-" walks throught the streets and hears a familiar speach and story from the mayor and stops, his wierd flowery things on the side of head perk up causing him to become more intrigued. He looks over at the Mayor and speaks,

Dammit man, the "problem" on the paper was my twin, I must destroy the cheese Mr. Mayor. I cannot allow your cheese to festor these streets anymore. RIP to my twin dammit. Oh by the way that was my mum's model-T you stole.

"-"Caesar"-" looks at the wall where the Mayor decides to scribble his drug prices in his HQ and goes on his way.

Very creative and innovative way of describing the state of these streets these days.   All of the points you brought up were accurate and feelings most of us can relate to.    Mayor McCheese I would consider this speech to be a win!   Hopefully all these positive compliments from myself and the other mafiosos...  but mainly from me, will encourage you to speak again.

Kurtz wandered around watching the Mayor's attempts to get involved with street life. He saw the buffeting he was having to endure and the downtrodden expression on his face as he walked away slump shouldered and full of woe. Kurtz caught up with him and put a warm hand on his shoulder.

Hey! Don't let these things get to you man. As someone was once imagined to have said somewhere 'Let not your heart be troubled'. These reactions are generic but you can not let the quaffing dismissives dampen your spirit. Nor do you have to resign yourself to a singular existence in coffee shop life. If you have something to add to a conversation, speak up! If you are confident your contribution is relevant to what is being said, chime in!

Sure you may get some detractors who confront and contort your words but don't let them bother you. Its usually just an effort to make themselves feel better about their painfully obvious inadequacies or bitterness from past experiences that they simply can not let go. If you feel sure footed about your point and you want to get involved, these streets are where you belong.

Seeing the crack of a smile creep across the face of the young mobster, Kurtz smiled back.

Good luck to you my friend. Enjoy your voice and speak freely!
