Darwin anxiously stood up from his seat and scanned the room. He wasn’t much for public speaking. He very much preferred to keep to himself. Having to come forward and talk about today’s events made him sick to his stomach, but he had no choice. It was his duty.

“We have seen the removal of South Philly today for reasons we wish hadn’t happened, along with deaths we wish were avoidable. Unfortunately, South Philly became a ladder of chaos and liability that could no longer be tolerated.”

Darwin sighed and looked deeply bothered.

“It was the right thing to do. It was the right move. I want to start by saying that TonyTheTailor is a good man, a good leader, and an example of what mafioso should strive to be in this thing of ours. He was upstanding and great to work with. We will NOT slander Tony on the streets, and his funeral should have a turnout like we’ve never seen before. The streets are where he belonged, not a grave. Today is tougher because of that. He was, to put it simply, GREAT. There will be a monument in South Philly in his honor.”

Darwin raised his head, and the sympathy stopped.

“Tony wasn’t the issue; his right-hand man was. Natasha was a valuable part of this city and was given much leeway to do whatever she wanted in the best interest of all Philadelphia. BUT when you overreach and become a liability, the leash needs to be shortened. Natasha didn’t just become a liability for South Philly, but for the entire city.”

Darwin’s eyes grazed the crowd. There was an eerie silence.

“Natasha took things too far. She was caught shooting two people without authorization from anyone besides possibly Tony. Just last week, I had to have a sit-down with LA leadership because Natasha was caught taking unauthorized hits on people. As if that weren’t enough, Natasha then went to Detroit and offered help to take out Chicago after Roley went rogue, involving herself in matters that didn’t concern her in the slightest all without ever even speaking to the rest of Philly leadership about it. Did she only do it once? Nope. Several times over several days. Natasha refused to take no as the final answer from Detroit. It was a Chicago and Detroit issue, not Natasha’s. This was the nail in the coffin."

“There was also an issue with anonymous notes being sent around to members of Chicago trying to make people paranoid and provoke them into shooting. Telling them they were going to be hit and that Detroit was going to move on them. Although there is no solid evidence to prove these notes were sent by Natasha, it seems a long shot that it’s simply coincidence that all of those messages were sent while Natasha was actively roaming our streets... especially given her actions over the past week.”

Darwin hung his head and sighed. This really was a tough decision for him to make, and it did hurt him to have to do it.

“Whether Tony knew or not is up for question. We did consider killing only Natasha. We considered going to Tony about it and trying to have him handle Natasha himself. Unfortunately, as I stated earlier, Tony was too great of a leader. Nobody thought for a second that he would stand by and let his RHM be killed. We believed the comrades would stick together in Natasha’s poor decision-making, as they had shown the world how tight of a group they were."

“The uncertainty of how Tony and the rest of the comrades would react to the situation is what led to the decision to wipe the district altogether. So, we informed all parties of what we knew and handled the issue ourselves along with Chicago to correct the mistake. To take care of the liability. Natasha put the safety and security of Philadelphia at risk with her actions, and unfortunately, today’s events are the consequences.”

Darwin shuffled around his papers and put them down on the table. He looked back up to the crowd and spoke one last time.

"I hope that this brings some clarity to the situation. I appreciate your time and attention."

Darwin nodded to all those that were present and then took his seat back at the table.

Tony was a great man of this there can be no doubt.

He achieved great things in his short life and deserved the rank of Godfather

Ignoring all the reasons above as I can't understand French I would just like to remark on a recent quote from the man.

Peace is cancelled. War is authorised.

 In many ways I think he would also approve of his own death. After all, peace is boring. 

I for one am appreciative to the Godfather for taking time out of his day to come and explain why this district was removed.  Far too many times we see crews, districts or even cities wiped out with no explanation at all.  It quite frankly blows to wake up in the morning to see your father/mother and all their friends killed and you are left to pick up the pieces with absolutely no idea of the reasoning behind his or her death.  Kudos Godfather Chairman Darwin....

I’ve read the perspective that was shared. It is an interesting perspective and in many places a generous one. The compliments toward my father were noted and appreciated. He was a good man. A strong leader.

There is no need to get dragged into a back and forth about reasoning, timelines, private conversations, or who said what to whom and when. All of that is finished now. The decisions were made. The consequences have already arrived. Re-litigating it does not change the outcome and it does not bring anyone back.

I respect people who are willing to own the results of what they choose to do.

It is also fair to recognise the impact of that choice. A significant number of very loyal & very capable people are now gone. Experienced people. Disciplined people. People who were not just symbolic names but real strength within an alliance. When that many sharp shooters leave at once it changes the balance in ways that are not always obvious at first glance. That is just my observation.

None of this is said with anger or resentment. War has a way of making everyone feel justified and nobody feel responsible. I accept that. It is part of life and part of the world we all chose to operate in.

Most importantly, respect is due to all who died. Friends and Spicoli. From every side. Lives were ended, families were erased, and stories were cut short. That should never be treated lightly, no matter how clean the explanation sounds on paper.

My father led the way he believed was right. Others made the choices they believed were necessary. History will do what it always does and smooth the edges until everyone looks reasonable in hindsight.

I thank those who spoke with respect. I acknowledge the perspective offered. And I consider the matter closed.

Stray dogs fed rotten trash in the back alley have more loyalty than cities to their families nowadays.

Tony’s crew and work will get the luxury of being looked upon fondly. At least I don’t have to worry about being looked upon as the one who ended it.

This was a ton to hear, seeing the mass killings in the obits made me think, was it all really worth it? I understand un-authed kills and other topics, but mass murder? No one is winning in that, not saying this to stop it, but for people to reconsider if it's worth it. Even my friend beluga is gone, and my friend Tony.

I think we all need to take a breather.
