Clearly the current mafia regime is failing and it's just a matter of time before all hell breaks loose. Mistrust and betrayal are rampant right now. Why would you be a part of a family that would not be afraid to pull the trigger on you? Detroit and NY are pulling the strings and ready with the scissors.

If you're pissed off and tired of what is going on, I challenge you to change all your cash to save haven items like those fancy credit bonds. Or invest in a long-term property that you can transfer to your kin. Then, drop out of your crew if sponsored and remain unsponsored. We might all get killed at some point, but our kin be there to continue the mission, no matter how many times they have to return.

This way, we can show in sheer numbers to the Mayor who would have to force sweeping changes that he calls, the Era of Rebuild.

If you don't want to join, that's okay. History will remember those who stood up in the time of oppression. Be the change and DRAIN THE SWAMP.

Is this a time of oppression? It certainly doesn't appear to be from where I'm standing and I don't think anyone in Detroit can reasonably claim to have been oppressed or betrayed in recent months. Far from it. And scissors? Please. These fingers were made for fish-hooking and eye gouging, not silly snippity snipping. That isn't the Detroit way at all. We don't want for much here and we certainly wouldn't want anything from any of those nerd factories across the country. Why would we? We've got everything we need right here. You really don't miss hot water after awhile and who could feel hungry even in the desolate wastes of Corktown when you've chowed down on a superbly orchestrated art gallery heist around lunchtime, before filling up on a glorious trucking depot raid for dinner? Home with your feet up before supper (which may or may not be inedible). What's not to love? All we ask/forcibly demand is that you crack the skull of anyone who dares to slip a BuddyBig into your back pocket to try and steal your wallet, and after that the day's your own. Is that such a burden? I don't think so. Plus there is excellent pay available, every 12 hours like clockwork, just stick your hand out and ask and someone will drop a fat wad of cash right on in there. Kind-hearted Gneiss has even taken to issuing payday bonuses to those who are really pulling their weight. How cool is that? 

In fact, now that I think about it, I'm sure you've got this all wrong, Whistler. Detroiters shouldn't become unsponsored, the unsponsored should be joining Detroit. Why do you want to be stinky and cold on the Street with the muck and the filth, when you could be earning a great wage and sustaining only semi-major concussions every other afternoon? How can you compete with that? What's your counter, sending anonymous credits and trying to get the Mayor to step in? Seems a little dorky, honestly, and who wants to be a dork? Nobody. So don't worry about draining the swamp, have 15k on me and it'll seem like nothing after you've walked down 12th Street after Curry Thursday.  

You know what, before I go, I'll even toss you another 5 large. NOT A BRIBE and not because I forgot that the minimum tip was 20k rather than 15, just thinking money. That's all. Chew on the idea of it. Or may on the actual money itself if you were hungry and actually thinking about coming here because absolutely nothing at all can grow in the toxic soil. Well, certainly nothing edible. Or non-sentient. I may have said too much.

Oh right, I see. Fair enough. Another potential recruit lost, I guess. What put you off, it being a cesspit? Shit. Why did I have to mention the soil toxicity again? Every time this happens. Get the fish on the line and then just as I'm about to land it in the boat, I reference the pH levels. Stupid, stupid, DTSi. Just stop talking about it, Jesus. Stick to the positives when soils comes up, like you trained for in the Sponsorship meetings before you were given the right to send invites. Remember your objection handling. "Oh clay subsoils can be an issue due to cyclical expansion and contraction? Sure, maybe in places where there are trees to absorb the moisture and potentially cause foundation issues but do you ever see a tree in Detroit? And do our buildings even have foundations?" Much better. I've got this for next time.  

Well said, DetroitSimon. Subsoils and all that. Agreed. And why would we even need to grow our own food, Whistler? We're important mafia guys. We import the finest quality ingredients. Ham from Spain. Potatoes from Idaho. Pro-wackers from the Netherlands. That last one didn't work out so well. But you get what you pay for and, I'll tell you what, we bought a lemon. RIP twigs.

Detroit is a dreamland. Do you like free money? You get a payday twice a day. Do you like dogs? You can walk Simon on a leash after you've mugged him into submission. It's whatever you make of it. It's both my home and the natural gathering place of my greatest enemies. That stressful dichotomy keeps me operating at full capacity every day. Nobody likes Mr. Negativity, Whistler. There is an incredible future for you just waiting to unfold. Embrace opportunity. Reach out for your greater purpose. Become The Chosen One. That is generally how employment works, Whistler. You need to get a job, son. Learn a little bit about life.

Oh right so in addition to being a petty thief or a poxy civilian, the shameful act of making money is also off the table for however long it takes before we can go crying to Daddy Mayor to fix our problems. You really aren't selling this to me at all.

What other bright ideas are you cooking up over there around the sewing circle in Unsponsored HQ, Whistly? Longing working hours with fewer breaks perhaps? What do you think about lunchtime? A missed opportunity for unpaid labour, I'll bet. 

Be in a cesspool for a measly payday? Nah. I spent time in your crew for a bit then a crew in NY and NY definitely takes the cake if I had to join again.

I can smell that detroitsimon has been here recently...damn. I had a whole speech and everything. Oh well. Basically, this idea is dumb and detroitsimon is stinky. 

I understand the sentiment. 

Sometimes it is preferable to be unsponsored until you find the right type of crewleader to join. Not everyone that is unsponsored is doing it out of spite or anger. 

I’m not sure that Detroit can hold the strings? I don’t even have opposable thumbs.
