| Increase Rat Spawn Eligibility to 100% Within Crew Chat | Started by: MatkaPluku on Feb 06, '26 21:53 |

Proposal: Increase Rat Spawn Eligibility to 100% Within Crew Chat Current State Rats (NPCs raced to shoot) currently spawn for players who are active in main chat, which encourages global activity but does little to drive crew-level engagement. Proposed Change Allow 100% eligibility for rat spawns while active in crew chat, treating crew chat activity as equal to main chat for spawn purposes. Pros
Cons (and Mitigations)

I genuinely thought we had already done this for crew & city chat as long as the CLs confirm they monitor those chats to prevent abuse? I could be wrong however. Interested for others thoughts. |

Aye the feature is already there, just most don't have it turned on in crew settings, but I can make a few small changes to make it less risky. Near every time we have to give a user a timeout, and I do mean, without any hyperbole, damn near every time we have to give a user a time out, it turns into a fight. I don't push the feature because it's just not a very fun to be on the admin side and take abuse form users over this. The situation is we had a crazy high abuse ratio of it, with the only thing keeping it from getting really bad is that it currently has greatly reduced odds in channels that we are unable to monitor for abuse, but, if uppers are willing to take over 100% of the responsibility to inform, monitor, and police the channels they select (right now you can pick crew, district and/or city), and if anything comes across my desk that requires us to step in, that it can lead to the removal of the 3 uppers. So, I can push the feature a little more, I just need to write a fully transparent disclaimer that they need to be very proactive, provide around the clock coverage, and that they are so confident in their leadership that they tell us to put full trust in that they will take care of anything and everything before it becomes a problem where we are blindly rewarding the crew for gaming the system Everything OP mentioned is 100% valid, but in the past it got major blowback from crews who felt it was not their responsibility to police their crew rewards. So we can make it transparent and optional with something like this: Theres a rolling 24h window (anonymous) that represents all wacks that were are under 24h old that were triggered from the previous non 100% channels, where an upper certifies that every one of their members has been informed of the rules, that the upper certifying the results has personally checked to ensure that there was no gaming the system. When they certify, it will then credit all the accounts with the gains anonymously. Anything uncertified falls off after 24h and will not count. If there was a problem during the timeframe, they simply fix the problem, and then does NOT certify results until the problem falls out of the 24h window. This keeps it clean, it keeps it monitored, and gives the uppers 100% full control over enforcement and mitigates any risks of us having to step in and disable rewards and/or remove the crew. That pretty much solves all my concerns, and I would feel comfortable turning on the rewards to 100% for unmonitored channels.
Yay? Nay? |
