All right folks, well I have been going around theses past few days in utter disgust. Its bad enough when the man gets us down, takes away our freedom and chucks us in the slammer. But when we are low-balling each other, that is the final straw for me! Many of us mobsters pay good money to throw our sleeping brothers and sisters in jail to test our skills out and to train them if the need ever arises in a real situation. Now this is all well and good, no harm done. Corrupt pigs would do it anyways. When we set up this little bribe it is mostly because we wish to start training, so we are bound to fail! So you get thrown in for a time. Oh well shit happens but here is my angst, the gods are generous enough to grace us with putting themselves behind bars along with our sleeping mafioso's. While we rot away, little sneaks go and break out the all the gods as well as the others while the actual people who are trying to train are left to rot. This is such a low-balled tactic to get ahead it sickens me, have we gotten so corrupt and greedy that we put ourselves that much ahead of other? Most would say tough luck and do better. But you are paying money to train hard for yourself to help your family, and others go around busting everyone other then yourself? When you helped put people in to train, their is no reason to be so greedy a person to leave others behind for their own personal gain. We claim to be "Organized crime" when some of you are running around like a bunch of hoodlums who don't deserve to see the light of day in our streets. This sets a horrible example, and it's just plain wrong. So I come of you today to give a lesson to the younger chaps, and a reminder to the oldies. When you see a jail is full in a city and decided to help set some of these good men free, check the bottom to see if anyone in their is awake and rotting, it's not hard to figure out, all the others who are sleeping have this little sentence. People who are sitting with a big sentence are most likely attempting to train themselves to help bail their friends and possibly YOU! In case they ever wind up in the brig. So take the time to go to them first. You never know they may even drop you a nice mail of thanks afterward. If no one is currently serving a big sentence feel free to free whoever! And remember the more guards their is the more lazy the guards get which tends to make them easier to get around. The ways of the jail is a simple one, it is a shame to see so many men and women betray their fellows like this. Well that's all their is to it really, please so some common curtsy, help others while helping yourself. It's not hard, just as much effort with more rewards. Theses people most likely spent money or time to train up and had a case of bad luck. They are helping you train why not return the favor! We need to help each other! Think how you would think if you were in their shoes? Not fun to serve a whole sentence. Treat others like you yourself wish to be treated. Without each other we have nothing. And if your greedy and wish to hog all the training experience remember what goes around comes around. Greed doesn't lead you anywhere...other then a nice one way trip out to the ocean. |

Marietta nods her head in agreement and a grin slowly spreads across her face as she listens to the good Doctor speak. When he finishes she faintly begins to clap, quickly cutting off her cheering to step forward and shake the man's hand. Amen, Sir! Well said! She pauses for a moment, gazing at the city jail located just behind the man's body. With a frown she watched as a group of young, fresh faced thugs began to plot the break-out of several civilians. Mean while, just to the right of them, a Wise Guy was being dragged through the front doors of the slammer, kicking wildly as two coppers grabbed him by the arms and led him inside. Sigh. Everything you said does happen too alarmingly often. It's definitely a far cry from the 'jail sessions' my ancestors all boasted of in their diaries. I beg all of you, listen to what this man says. Do not foolishly bust out the Gods of this world, or waste your time plotting the rescue of drunken and sleeping civilians. Sure, it may be the easiest feat to complete, but helping out our own kind ends up being more rewarding in the long run. Shooting a smile at the Doctor she continues. As the old adage goes, 'treat others as you would like to be treated'. Spending a moment to break out one of our own will ensure, through good karma I do believe, that should you find yourself in the slammer later on, they will return the favor. Plus, I've often found that jail breaking others is the easiest way to strike up a conversation with someone, thereby gaining myself another contact. And as we all know, this world is built upon forging and making bonds to get the most out of this life. With a deep breath she turns once more to the man, giving him a nod. Brilliant speech, Sir. I thank you for bringing it up. |

The good Doctor is right of course, this happens far too often and there is no reason for it. Breaking your fellow Mafioso's out will give you more experience than breaking out the lowly civilians, so why not help yourself out and at the same time help another out. You never know one of those you break out could end up running the show and remember the day you helped them out. So remember that helping others can in the end help you out even more than you may realize. |

Shakeing his head, Skulls walks up to the the crowd slowly. Of course Doctor is right... but the world if full of greedy people. Say if you where one of these greedy people, and you saw an awake Goomba in jail. BUT, you also see a Boss snoozing in his cell, which are these greedy people going to break? It's common sense, your going to go for the bigger man, more reward for it. It is sad, and you are right doctor. But in the current status that the cities are in, it will continue to happen. I am not saying all people partake in this... low handedness. But the general population does. I am only viewing the world through unclouded vision, not here to burst anyones bubble. |

| Skulls makes a good point. Many is the time I have sat and rotted for my entire sentence because I had no guards or maybe 1 guard and everyone was going for the big fish. But I guess that's just one of the variables when you decide to partake. I personally make sure I go for those awake folks no matter how many or how few guards...then I go for the sleepers. | |

A solution is needed, though what that may be evades me. Diaries of my ancestors tell me of speeches made by the leaders at the time with solutions to this problem, alas, it did not work. Cab_Tufting imposed a jailbreaking fee on people using his city, CommodumPerfectus tried imposing a scheme where whoever bought the JB chose who used it, which he then revoked because the Mafioso did not understand how it would work... If anyone has a possible solution to this, they should let a leader know immediately! |
