| HQ Whack | Started by: Justino on Jul 24, '08 13:27 |

I suggest getting rid of the HQ whack completely. I feel that it is an unrealistic feature and takes away whacks that should be given to other players. Here is an example of a situation being dealt with both with and without the HQ whack feature. With HQ whack feature: Johnny is a made man in Bob's crew. Johnny has disrespected a crewleader and it has been decided by the higher ups that Johnny has to go. Bob HQ whacks Johnny. Without HQ whack feature: Johnny is a made man in Bob's crew. Johnny has disrespected a crewleader and it has been decided by the higher ups that Johnny has to go. Bob contacts Tommy, an up and coming Wise Guy with a good shot. Tommy does not know why Johnny must be killed, but accepts the oppertunity to prove himself to the crewleader Bob. Tommy shoots and kills Johnny. Tommy has now proved himself to his crewleader and improved his gun. Getting rid of the HQ whack would add some great plots to the game. It would force crewleaders to delegate the responsibility of punishing those who break the rules to other members of the crew. It would also prevent crewleaders from allowing morons to control this feature. And since the HQ whack has a 100% success rate and no cooldown, it is a static conflict action that allows a player the role of an admin or npc. Leaving this feature in I think takes away a chance for some interesting and fun gameplay. |

Really can't see any overwhelming negatives to this - Even if you're not confident your hitters would hit, you can always demote and if necessary, take a gun. The only stipulation I would add would that be shooting someone from your own family would be marginally easier than shooting someone else of the same rank from another family. Tip top other than that though mate :) |

No negatives, of course, other than the fact that any leader without a shit-hot gun would be completely at the mercy of the hitters in their Family, rather than just mostly at their mercy, right? And on top of it, making it even easier for said hitters to take out their Boss? What are you planning, then? Out with it. |

I actually like this idea it's more mafia like i mean you dont see in films or IRL mafia dons picking up the h/q and dropping it on someone now do you? no it's given to the capo's and then decide who should do it EX. Godfather Pt 1 Sonny wants paulie gatto dead so he gives the job to clemenza a capo regime who gives rocko the order to kill paulie. |

| SavageHenry, you bring up a good point, however, a good CL wouldn't have that many people in his crew that want him dead. I personally think it is an unreal feature, especially in incidents like Mr. Wootage, he HQed nearly his entire crew because he was mad. Now, in real mafia life, that is absolutely impossible. Which brings me to my next point, A family is made up of people that are all loyal to the boss. The boss naturally has a way of dealing with people, which I believe should be his hitters. However, with this HQ Wack! feature, everyone is at the mercy of their Boss and RHM. Which, should be good, except it is totally in-practical. If you are worried about your hitters taking over, take their gun. The HQ wack feature, I believe, is unreal and not needed. :) | |

SavageHenry, I don't think a leader should ever find themselves in a situation where they are at the mercy of their hitters, they choose their hitsquad leader and should only choose someone they know and trust. If they do feel threatened (they shouldn't be a leader in my eyes but meh!), they can take the guns of those who they deem a threat. I think this is a good idea and would encourage more realism and Roll Playing. Perhaps to make it "safer", any interfamily shots would have to be authed by the leader. |

| I really like it. It makes it more realistic, and gives other players a chance to move up and prove themselves. Thus creating Hitmen. I really like it... | |

| I have never agreed with HQ wack, such a cheap easy way of doing things. IRL you dont just press a button and someone dies, you shoot them the normal way. | |

Just want to add, I never want to meet Cruelio in real life.

I also think that this is a good idea. One of my old characters was in fact in Alessia's crew when that happened, and he only left himself and Alessia alive. Removing the HQ wack would take away the fact that people can slaughter an entire crew in minutes, and would add more realism to the game. ~Break. |

I'll bump this as it's a decent idea. And with the new trend of people getting HQ'd by asshat RHM could be decent. |

I'd like to see this given serious consieration - but only from the standpoint that it's a change that promotes realism, rather than a change which results in a get out of jail free card for idiotic leaders who appoint inappropriate RHM on a whim. |

Maybe the Hq Wack feature could only be used by your CL, or GF and not if your a made man and have sponsored someone, this may increase them asking lower ranking player in the family to maybe have 1 wack out of 3 wacks, because if the GF or the CL is not online and you fear that a player is running riot, then you will ask for him to be taken care of. |

I like this idea. And always have. For both the realism and to protect against evil RHM and crewleaders. And, yes, you can argue that the crewleader should be more careful with his choice, but I don't think it particularly nice to risk the hard work and effort that everyone has put into their characters on the sensibilities of the leader and the mood of the underboss. |

Oh, and add to this the feature of removing guns. It shouldn't be there. |

I, for one, am interested in hearing the pro-HQ wack argument. |

What you guys fail to realize is this is completely realistic because the way it worked in the mob is if you were to be removed and were a real part of the family, you would be called in to meet with the boss, like any other job, and be shot in the back of the head. Beware of plastic on the floors. |
