The 51st floor corridors of The Gold Standard’s headquarters were absolutely gleaming on the walk up to Kiel’s office. Inside sat the newly minted Godfather of Paradise behind a solid gold desk. A new godly title to go along with the unholy amounts of cash stacked around the office. “Hey boss, you’ve still got a little something from the old Godfather on your K,” said Soseki. Kiel looked down at the diamond encrusted K hanging on his platinum chain, grabbed a fistful of 100’s off his desk and wiped away a small spec of Godfather brain. “Thanks. Alright look Soseki, we were struggling before with the Golden Palace Casino and my owning half the city, but now that I’m Godfather the situation has become totally untenable.” Kiel looked concerned. “We simply do not have room for all this cash. We lost @Interlude for a week between the stacks in the basement. I need you to go out and find a new place, preferably high ceilings, lots of storage and a discreet entrance. I guess if you want to run a little operation out of it that’s fine too.” A few days later and they were moving in. @Ember had begrudgingly agreed to come along and was helping to carefully install Soseki’s large painting of a cat. “I just love this painting so much” she said, “anyway what made you choose the name Tranquillity?” “I couldn’t think of a better word to describe the feeling of stacking cash all day.” |
