Casa di Amore, as Vela liked to call it. 

It was a tall, white block of beauty. Black iron gates surrounded the newly built establishment and large palm trees to provide a sense of 'tropical paradise'. While also giving a cozy feeling with the warm accent lights at the entrance door and balcony.

When Vela first discovered the building, it needed a lot of work. The drive way was not smooth, cracks in the ceilings and trash everywhere. It was once a safe haven for the homeless, drug addicts and lost souls. When Vela took over, she knew it was going to be a few months before the place would be open to the public.

Vela had previous experience working in an office, not a particularly fulfilling job. One day, she decided to call it quits and start a new chapter of her life. It was not easy. She had to practically start from the bottom. Luckily she had planned ahead and made sure to not quit her 9-5 without having enough savings first. Vela was able to use her hard earned wages to make her dreams of being a wedding venue manager come true.

During the renovations, she'd been approached by an organization in Detroit that was looking to invest a decent amount of money in a venue so long as they could come in and out whenever they want. It seemed like a big ask, but the money they offered was bigger. How could Vela say no? They didn't ask for any percentage of the profits, just wanted to use the facilities though they set up a little office area in a separate building from the wedding venue. The building was next to her office and she didn't have any plans for it really. Initially it was supposed to just be storage. 

Sometimes, Vela could hear many men shuffling about over there. Exchanging deals, often talking about drugs and hit list targets. Vela kept her mouth shut. If the cops ever found out she was harboring criminals, she would be done for and forget about the wedding venue dream. Instead, she turned a blind eye and went about her days as if nothing was wrong. 

Anyways, it was hard to get customers at first because she was just starting out. Detroit didn't have too many of these places yet though so she had an advantange. 

In the next few months, activity started picking up...
