After a lengthy and spirited discussion with a few members of Cold World Inc.'s upper structure, Skorp finds himself musing over a particular topic and curious as the opinions of his corhorts. Grabbing his suit jacket from its hook, he strolls out to the street and down a few blocks to the familiar gathering place of the coffee-break philosophers. The old soapbox lies in a broken and battered heap nearby, but there's no need for it. Skorpeon has no trouble getting anyone's attention. His loud, baritone voice carries easily over the crowd of passers-by. |

LeftBrain leaving the newly crews HQ that he manage to join up today. He skips away from Mayor_McCheese as he hates the skipping. A weird man, that McCheese. LeftBrain manages to skips all the way to the local streets. He sits near by the ol' waterfountain as he hears the well respected man from generations, Skorpeon speak in the street. LeftBrain listens to the speech as he smokes on a vanilla flavored cigar. He comes up to the nearby bench that Skorp is at. He speaks near him.
As a man, who has a hard time to fully understand things. And, a little dyslestic at time. I wish to poise my opinion on this subject. A man who can lead and organize his men/women well should sucessed more then those who can't speek in the streets or have a normal conversation. A person who can fully lead their crew into high ranks will be the most succesful. As again if I had some random answer and didn't really know your question. I am sorry. A little hard of the hearing.
LeftBrain frowns hoping he didn't really mess up his opinion. Hard to speak at times. |

It was a cold and muggy night, Armageddon took a swig from his flask to help himself warm up. Capping the flask he stuffs it inside his jacket pocket and makes his way over to where a few people had gathered and notices his friend Skorpeon addressing something. After Skorpeon finished up speaking Armageddon made on with his thoughts on the subject.
Well this is certainly a tough one. Obviously this is a two sided coin as both Leadership and management/organization skills are crucial to possess if you want to run a family of your own one day. For instance a great leader who knows how to properly speak to their crew, and gets to know them results in obviously more dedication from their members. I doubt I am speaking only for myself in saying that if you're in a family and your boss speaks to you often, and you trust them, respect them. Wouldn't that make you just want to strive that much harder to be bigger and better for them?
On the other hand organization is useful as well. If your CL very organized I am sure there is a pretty bar for you to hang out at, they also compare you and your fellow members on how you compare to one another in making money for the family. You cant help but be pleased and last but not least. We all knew it was coming, when it comes down to war organization comes in very handy. Being able to know where your guys have to be, and knowing who they could handle, and they couldn't handle. For lack of a better term, but you get the point. Its nice to have that.
Reaches inside his jacket and grabs a pack of smoke, lighting one up before he continued to speak.
All in all I would have to go with Leadership. After all You cant spell leadership without leader. Now don't think that I am dismissing organization skills because in my own opinion they're both needed if you want to have a successful and tight knit family. The reason I am selecting leadership as more important than organization is that there might be that Right hand, Left hand or another member who can carry some of the load of management for the Crew Leader. No matter how good of a mobster you're, you cant do it all by yourself.
I look forward to hearing others opinions on the subject at hand, very tough question.
Armageddon takes the last drag off his cigarette and tosses it aside making his way up to Skorpeon he shakes his hand and makes his way to a nearby restaraunt to get his eat on. |

Having just had a plan of what he was going to say in mind, but then completely going blank as he was about to say it out loud, Michelotto takes a breath and tries again.
Theoretically a leader would require both of these things. On the one hand, a leader who could manage his family down to the tee and have a well organised army on his hands if only he had the members for it but doesn't due to his lack of communicative skills would be a bit useless. On the other hand, a a leader who would could rally the masses to join him in any cause he sets out for could be just as useless if he didn't know how to manage all of those willing members. To the latters defence though, this is what hands are for. Theoretically a hand could have the skills that you don't have, like being able to manage a hitsquad or organising earners in some special way and putting all of the members to good use. However if a leader that was managerial had a hand that was a good "leader" who could rally people to whatever cause, evoke any emotion he wanted with just a few words or what have you, wouldn't it be safe to say that people would then be asking themselves why that person isn't the leader of the family instead?
So basically, theres no point being able to manage things to the most efficient point there is if you don't know how to pass on that knowledge to those who are supposed to be working for you.
All in all, in a perfect world a leader would have both of these skills. However, if not then there's always your hand. |

Kurtz listened with interest to Skorpeon's speech and the subsequent contributions from others. He pondered the question and decided he had a view that hadn't been presented. |

Have to agree with that statement, not everyone will have all the skills needed some are better in some area's than others. For me a crew leader should choose and then utilise his hands wisely, running a crew should never be a one man show. Yes it helps if the CL has charisma great people skills and a certain degree of organisation but it is not neccesary excel at them all provided you have the right people around you to who are strong in area's you are not, that is where the wisdom side of things come into play.
As Kurtz pointed out an intelligent CL will know what and where his/her weaknesses are, you can always strive to improve your weaknesses but in the short term if you have someone in your crew better qualified to do a certain job a wise CL will utilise them skills in the best possible manner, hence you do need a certain amount of organisation skills, that is a must if you are to build a good strong crew.
So to the question at hand, good management skills Vs good organisation skills, in my opinion you need a certain level of competence in both, you need to be able to manage individually not so much as a whole, different people will require a different approach in various matters some take critism well others will not for instance others will need more time than others to get to grips with certain things where as others will pick things up rather quickly, a person with good managerial skills will pick up on who needs what and what sort of approach to take. On the other hand great managerial skills alone will not cut it if you dont have an element of organisation, for instance if you put someone into a job that has absolutely no idea what the job consists of you are doomed to failure, the person may be one of the nicest and eager people you are likely to meet but would it be wise to offer them the job?, abslolutely not wisdom would tell you not to, if you are wise enough however to see the to see people's strenghts in certain area's and then organise and allocate task's and jobs to those capable of doing so you will find you have a solid base from which to build. So for me you need to be fairly competent in both. |

Sephiroth notices the growing crowd in front of an old gathering place by the old beat down soap box, with interest he walks into the growing crowd making his way to the front where he finds himself hearing out Skorpeon’s speech…
Tough subject indeed, I can honestly say any successful leader can’t have one without the other so to speak. You ideally will need both in my mind to completely run a successful family.
As for which is better, I don’t think one should be taken over the other as you should be able to provide both to your family who have entrusted the leader with there lives.
With that being said, leaders should have people in the upper structure to cover his or here dark areas. Also though the leader makes all the final decisions his upper structures words should always be taken into high consideration, laying out the pro’s and cons and having different opinions of some intelligent individuals to cover more ground on the subject is always important. From there I think you can make a more educated decision on what would be the best route to take, even if its not going with the leaders original choice.
Sephiroth steps back into the crowd in anticipation to hear what others have to say on the subject… |

It takes far more than one hundred plus body guards, thats for damn sure. Despite it being the standard to become a CL, bodyguards dont equate to leadership. A real leader LEADS. He or she interacts with the crew, teaches the crew, and becomes the standard to which everyone in the crew should aim to become. Putting on a fancy bold suit doesnt mean your work load decreases, it means it increases 10 fold and you damn sure better be ready to handle it. |
