I don't see the point in this. Maybe at least give an argument as to why you would like to see this change? 

I don't see the need to change it. I think leaving them locked is fine.

There is a 24 hour grace period where it is not needed (preserving the surprise by rogues, and saving the time by last minute auths during hectic war times), however after the 24 hours, you are unable to receive full benefits from any boosts provided by HQ/crew/member/upper positions until this thread is in place and logged in the crew settings page.

People choose to lock it immediately because they do not want to engage with the public. 

There is an option to write the thread, post it, and hold off getting the HQ and then once you do you still have 24 hours. 

But instead people lock immediately. Its not a game issue, its a user issue.  

Why not just leave it unlocked on the game side then? What's the distinction/the pressing matter between it having to be locked immediately once registered and it being open beforehand? I don't see why it shouldn't just be treated like another thread open for discussion on the public forum. 

If him or her cannot take the time to announce a new crew is setting up let that be a brutal lesson learned. JMO

Is it forever gone a CL/GF would announce their new Captain?
