Winds of Change in the Windy City Started by: Valmont on May 05, '12 05:48

A finely polished Rolls Royce glides down the streets of Chicago. In the back passenger seat, Valmont sits looking out the window at the bodies; blood and bullets that had begun to accumulate in the gutters and drains as the last few days had toiled on.  Valmont never completely enjoyed seeing the streets turn red, but he had known since he was a young boy that is was a way of life here.

“Everyone involved in this thing of ours lives and Dies by the gun”

He mutters to himself as his chuffer rolls down the street bringing him to his destination. After several minutes the driver eventually finds his way to a Sandwich shop in the section of Chicago devoted primarily to Organized crime.  After Having his driver pull over, Valmont steps out of the back of the Vehicle, and walks up to the top of the corner where the sandwich shop is located. Noticing an already gathered crowd he begins to speak.

My Confidants and brothers, in the past few days we have seen two wars break out on the streets of Chicago, the first, a civil war between Chicago’s former leader Skorpeon and Cory_Chase, and the second the war that we all saw today.

In the past the cities of Detroit and Chicago have enjoyed a fruitful friendship. Indeed, Don Skorpeon’s bloodline has been known by many in my city for several generations. Here in Detroit we have always been ones to look out for our friends, because I believe a good deed here, can lead to a good deed in the future.

Sadly that did not seam to be the idea of the Late Don Skorpeon. After the events involving the Chirs_Flannery war, when Detroit came to his side because we believed him to be given an unfair chance, we expected Skorpeon and his city to be loyal to us in the same manner, aiding us if aid was needed. Rather than do this though, in the New Orleans Vs. New York war, when Detroit called on his aid, he thought it better to stand back on the sidelines, and wait until the war was won (even after my former leader, Don Technical, who chose to save him, fell), recruiting, and shooting dead mobsters BG from a safe distance, then joined in once the wars standing was clearly decided.

Yet again when Detroit was targeted in the New York war with the death of Max, Skorpeon refused to join in and help with the minimal cleaning efforts that would help solve the problems for every city involved. Odd, considering we were more than willing to shed blood to save his ass in the Chris_Flannery War. Indeed, even after a non-involved city, Las Vegas, saw the death of a leader, and it seamed like those in New York were shooting at anything that moved. Skorpeon was happy to sit in the background, training his gun on the fallen BG’s, keeping his city safe, while his supposed friends took tragic losses.

Both of these acts of cowardice, along with several acts of lying to my face over trivial matters was enough to make me understand that my cities supposed friendship with Don Skorpeon was nothing more than a one sided relationship. It seamed to be all giving and no receiving, and it was clear to me that while my city stuck their neck out for his, they would not be doing the same for me. Even worse, from his sheer lack of loyalty, I feared that given the first need, his city would attack Detroit for the sake of their own.

This alone seemed enough for Detroit to sever its ties with Chicago, however in the past few days after Skorpeon’s city had members randomly attacking other cities, Skorpeon feared for his own life and again asked me to put my life on the line to assist him in attacking Marston and his allies to save his own ass. THIS WAS THE BREAKING POINT. Not only did I disagree with the killing of Marston or any of his associates, but I was not willing to put my family on the line again for a city that would never have my back in MY time of need. Knowing this, the move was clear, I continued to play Buddy-Buddy with Skorpeon while preparing my family to attack and kill the city of Chicago.

What does this all have to do with the Cory_Chase War?

Around the time I was about to contact Marston with the details of my attack on Chicago, and inform him of Skorpeon’s attempt to include me in his plans against him, Marston was approached by Cory and asked to kill Skorpeon. When I brought this information to Marston, he informed me that their city was also planning to take out the city of Chicago for relatively the same reasons I had and as such, willingly killed Skorpeon, considering his death was already written in the stars.

After learning of my own plots, Don Marston and I discussed and reasoned the possibility of our two cities continuing on with our plans. I personally requested we continue on because it was clear that Cory, sensing the impending doom tried to stab the figurehead of his own city in the back, and have him killed to save his own ass, claiming he had nothing to do with him, when Skorpeon was the man that made him in the first place. Don Marston agreed.

Yet again I ask you, how can you trust a man that has no sense of loyalty to those that are loyal to him. In the end we decided that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, and Cory needed to be removed as well as Skorpeon. A quick meeting was held with the Cities of DT, NY, LA, and PH in attendance, Shortly after LV came in and a plan was set in motion to kill Cory_Chase and Armageddon removing them from the city of Chicago.

In conclusion I would like to tell you all that I do not like bloodshed when it is hindering the growth of the land in which we live, but at some points, as we all know, bloodshed is needed. I could not allow the city of Chicago to continue on in the direction it was heading, weather under the reign of Skorpeon or Cory_Chase and I am sure my fellow Crewleaders that aided me tonight feel the same.

That is all, Thank you for listening.

Valmont nods to the crowd and hops back in his Rolls, driving back to the comfort of his own Mansion to sleep off the terrors of the night.

Scott-Weiland walked out of the sandwich stop, visibly tired, his suit only half put together, he pulled out a cigar and lit it. After taking a few puffs he sees Don Valmont speaking in front of the shop.

Don Valmont, you, along with everyone that was involved in the war, did what was best for their respective cities. But this was also good for Chicago. The Windy City was suffering, and everyone could see it. Loyalty is an important thing in This Thing of Ours. Cory showed no loyalty to his leader, and by virtue, his city. Rest in peace to the fallen, I hope that you find peace in the afterlife.

Scott-Weiland reaches out to shake Don Valmont's hand, then fixes his suit a little, and walks away to catch the next ride to the airport.

Admiral Ackbar stumbles threw the street as he suddenly hears the roaring of his leader's Rolls Royce. He starts running towards the sound too get some glimps of the speech he is about too hold.

That was one heck of a speech you threw there! We need more people that are truly loyal and show some respect! it's sad too see such things happen, But we can learn from this and not let it get so far in the future.

The city is free again...

Admiral wipes his hands on his already dirty pants and reaches out too shake Don Valmont's hand..

Thank you.

You have to do what you have to do to protect those closest to you.  You protected our city, which is the most important thing here. Congratulations on a job beautifully done.

Mortuis looks across a city red with blood and sighs.

"questa è la vita. Gli uomini buoni e cattivi vanno e vengono. Pace ai caduti."

"This is the mafia. some live, some die and some just sit around. It is always to each person to decide which to do. Don valmont, i salute you for your actions. Without them, I do not know where the city of detrioit would be. But i suspect it wouldn't be very pleasent."

Adamine takes a long draw off his cigar while placing the lid back on his pill bottle, slowly placing it back in his pocket

The last few days have been rough Boss. For the family, for myself, but mostly for you. I appreciate your composure through these tough times, and it speaks a great deal about yourself. It's decisions like these that make me even more proud to be in the Family that I am. While nobody likes vast amounts of blood on these streets, sometimes it is necessary.

Adamine slowly nods his head and begins to listen to the next speaker…
