Alacchi is back - Connor McManus Started by: ConnorMcManus on May 07, '12 06:12
Connor walks up in a bar full of known mobsters, knowing that he could get shot by the big shots he grew himself a pair and got their attention by standing on the table right in the middle of the bar. Lighting himself a cigar he starts to speak:

Before anyone deside to shot me let me say a few words, My name is Connor McManus, my father was Conner McManus some wise guy in Chicago. My father was nothing much was so busy with hookers, booze and drugs he barely had anytime for his family; sorry meant families, he was never home with me and my brother and my poor mother, as well I heard he wasn't much there in Chicago just another "Mic" who decided to join the Mob only cause his father, my grandfather, Tony Alacchi a pure Sicilian who moved in the States in the early 1900's was a know mobster. My father told me that his ancesters have all been good mobsters some have been in charge of families and others have been right hand mans and left hand mans, he even told me one of our ancester was to the right of some Godfather named Sherlock many years ago.

Connor flicking some ash from the last cigar his father had, which he left on the top shelf next to his gun and the spices. He then takes a drag; inhales... then exhales. Then continues to speak.

Anywho, I always told myself how I was ashamed of coming from a family which always earned their dirty money by stealing and killing and told myself  I would become something useful to society. When my grandfather died due to a war my father had to change his name, took his mother's last name and then realized he couldn't have an Italian name like Giovanni with an Irish name; so he gave himself the name Conner, everyone know him as Conner McManus when infact his name was Giovanni Alacchi. Out of respect for my father, I decided to take his name and have changed my mind in a career path.

He takes another drag of his cigar, as he looks at the crowd he notices some people arn't paying attention and the ones who are they're giving him this look which he could read so his continues but gets right to the point or else out the back he knows he'll go with a foot print on his back pockets or potentially something worst.

Alright I'll get to the point, I want to honor my family but doing what should of been done by my father but sadly failed. I Connor McManus-Alacchi will do anything in my power to honor my family the way it should be done I promise to be the best I could and reach the top and that no one could stop me because even if I die my soul will stay to complete what I must. For this I will need help from the best, I have many friend here but would like to meet more and have myself known better and I will show everyone who I am, a friendly, loyal, serious but calm, determined and open minded fellow. For those who are interested in a conversation feel free I'll be sitting at that table near the window.

He points to a window which no one had really noticed before because of that burnt light which has been burnt who knows how long. Connor steps down from the table he's been standing on right under a light which had been on for hours almost burning Connor's hair. With some sweat dripping slowly on the side of his head near his ear, Connor went to the bar and grabbed himself a double Jameson on the rocks and a Guiness. He then headed to the table he had pointed not too long ago. Sitting alone in his dark corner, Connor had finished his double Jameson on the rocks before anyone could of noticed. Closing his eyes, Connor prayed to the Lord in which he believed in but also to his ancesters, prayer for the most important people in his life to guide him in his life. Awaiting for people who hopefully will address the kid.

Kurtz had been very busy. He'd been on the go non stop for hours and needed some escape so he'd slipped out and sneaked off into the quiet bar. While he was sitting there enjoying a relaxing drink and some peace and quiet, he'd seen the young man get up and make his smokey speech. He was quite taken with his honesty, and how he'd articulated his past. When he was done, Kurtz got up, went to the bar and got a couple of drinks. Taking them over to the dark corner where the young man was sitting he placed one in front of Connor and sat down opposite.

Hey kid, you have a heart in you I'll give you that. I can understand your position.

He slammed back a large Jameson's and looked back at Connor.

If you are wanting a home in this town, I might be able to give you some pointers and a chance. I can get you a little bit of work and see how you get on. If you do well and my guys tell me you are up to it, maybe we can talk more about something more substantial.

Kurtz pulled a notepad and pencil from his jacket and jotted down an address. Tearing off the leaf he handed it to the now wide eyed young man on the other side of the table.

You get to this address in the morning. Its an import export business on the docks in New York. Talk to a guy there called Tony and ask him to call Kurtz. For now though, maybe just get yourself a good bath and some new clothes. Here.

Kurtz took out his money clip and peeled off a few bills. Leaving them on the table in front of the slightly confused Connor, he smiled and walked away.
