Happy Independence Day to all of the proud Americans out there, but more importantly, to all of the hard working criminals. The country wouldn’t be the same without you.

There has been no shortage of drama lately. You’d think that having a break from rogue mafia members would mean quieter times. Not a chance.

There’s no secret the city of Brotherly Love suffered a loss. Easily the hottest topic in the underworld, things might’ve started out as peak Alfred Hitchcock but unfortunately ended in true Shakespearean fashion. Capo Flowah and Don Bjorn were both found dead together in their Philadelphia mansion. Police are on record stating there were no signs of struggle or forced physical contact. Autopsy reports show that Flowah was officially pronounced dead at 11:17pm, Bjorn at 11:32pm, exactly 15 minutes apart. Suicide. With 500 million in cash and 500 million worth of gold bars on his head, it’s safe to say this was far from Bjoring. A real criminal celebrity of our time, Bjorn’s funeral was seen to be met with both warm embraces and cold stares from both friends and enemies alike.

The anonymous culprit of the hitlist mania revealed himself as ‘Madness’. Never heard of him, but I’m sure they have in Sparta. He had a lot to say. Going so far as marinating his actions in the name of ‘justice for purging’, letting it be known he had connections in Delaware, and revealing that there were others who were willing to collectively invest in the hitlist. Unfortunately, instead of a poetic ending we were left with another retirement. No shortage of drama indeed. Hopefully the Romeo+Juliet of the underworld enjoys life in retirement.

The very next day we seen the Boys in Blue have to get their hands dirty. Reasoning? Violation of policy. Oof. America, here is the perfect example of sugar going to shit. The young kid with the 20 character name that no one seems to be able to pronounce or understand, was a nobody. A butter face shmuck. At least that’s what it seemed like at face value. Apparently 20 character man and his band of illegal cousins were causing all sorts of trouble in this great country. After a national investigation led by the boys in blue, declassified documents show that this kid comes from the ’Premier’ bloodline. These very same documents also show that this bloodline is a repeat offender of said actions. I guess the apple never really does fall far from the tree. You know what they say in Texas, ‘you can teach a parrot how to meow, but you can’t teach an idiot how to use his brain’.

The city of New York has either accomplished something new, or something that hasn’t been done in a very long time. Godmother Chairman Norella’s successful takeover of Brooklyn now completes a back to back feat of women taking the wheel in the big apple. The city girls are currently up 1,000 points. After many conversations with mafioso from all over the nation, it’s safe to say that New York is the mecca for OCs. Zephyra, VP of the Empire State Organized Crime Syndicate, was forced a few weeks back to issue out a memorandum to all tourists. People are still being held hostage. How can you blame them? It isn’t easy adjusting to the fast paced city that never stops OCing.

Kuku. A man of many labels. This lineage seems to be in their City Boy era. Once viewed as a joke, an inevitable rogue, a spitter instead of a speaker on the streets, a troublemaker, and many, many other things that would’ve made this particular bloodline lose zero sleep at night, now seems to be getting some love. Even though he passed away not too long ago, whether sarcasm was smothered on a loaf of bread, there seemed to be a lot of positive words about Kuku. My great(x13)-grandfather Booogie, one of three founding members of The Iron Bank, did leave behind some kind words in the ol’ family journal about Kuku as well. It’s better to experience things first hand.

The country has plans to undergo a nationwide renovation. Whether much needed, highly requested, or all of the above, the one thing that stands out most is the hard work. No one truly knows how it will effect the world we live in but I guess we have no choice. A true criminal can adapt to their surroundings better than they can influence them.

Horoscopes

Aries (Mar. 21 – Apr. 19)
A spirited mood carries you through the holiday, but don't expect everyone to match your pace. Someone close may be keeping worries to themselves. A kind word will accomplish more than trying to prove you're right. Tonight ends on a happier note than the afternoon.

Taurus (Apr. 20 – May 20)
There's comfort in familiar faces today. A visit with relatives or neighbors may bring unexpected news, but not all of it will may be worth repeating. If you're tempted to spend more than planned, sleep on the purchase first.

Gemini (May 21 – June 21)
Conversation comes easily, and you'll hear more than most people realize. Be careful not to pass along a remark that was spoken in confidence. A letter or message you've been waiting for could arrive before long.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22)
The holiday stirs old memories, both happy and bittersweet. Don't let yesterday's disappointments keep you from enjoying today's company. Someone who has been distant may surprise you with a thoughtful gesture before the evening is over.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)
Your good humor attracts attention, but avoid making promises simply to please others. A small misunderstanding could spoil part of the afternoon if pride gets in the way. Don’t worry, by nightfall laughter replaces any hard feelings.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)
Take care of the little chores first, even if others are already celebrating. You'll enjoy yourself far more once responsibilities are behind you. Keep a close eye on personal belongings if you're among a large crowd.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 23)
Someone may ask your opinion today, but think before speaking. A careless remark could be remembered longer than intended. An old friendship shows signs of growing stronger if both sides are willing to let the past stay in the past. Forgiveness is more for self than it is for others. Put yourself first.

Scorpio (Oct. 24 – Nov. 21)
Not every disagreement deserves the last word. You'll gain more by listening than arguing, especially with family. The day improves steadily, and an unexpected invitation could lift your spirits before bedtime.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)
Restlessness may have you looking for something different to do. A drive through the countryside or a visit to another town could be just what you need. Keep your plans flexible, as delays may turn out to be blessings in disguise.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)
You've earned a chance to put work aside for a few hours. Still, one unfinished matter may linger in the back of your mind until it's settled. A quiet evening spent with trusted company will do more for you than a noisy celebration.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)
An ordinary conversation could give you an idea worth remembering. Don't dismiss advice simply because it comes from someone younger or less experienced. News from a distance may arrive later than expected, but it should be favorable. Patience is key.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – Mar. 20)
Your generous nature is appreciated, though someone may mistake kindness for weakness. Don't be afraid to say no if you've already done your share. End the holiday with gratitude, and tomorrow's work will seem much lighter.
