Right now when a crew leader dies the entire crew is disbanded. I don't think that is necessarily true to life. Typically a crime family would not just crumble and disperse because the boss dies. I think the family should be passed down to the right hand man and then the left hand man and possibly down to the last made man in the family, but at least down to the hands. Or maybe you can choose specific people that it passes down to. This would force your rivals to pull off at least a couple hits to get rid of a family instead of just one shot taking down a whole crew. |

A few points on the negative side of this: How it is now, a well oiled machine of a family already has all things in place already to get the family in the new crew. You have the funds already stashed somewhere safe. You have the auth already done. You have the notification list already taken care of. You have brother or sister crews ready at a moments notice to turn out invites in case your guy can't get online or was shot already. You have the new structure and its plan B C and D already ready to go. Then, on the other hand, you have a family that half asses things. Lets not strip the the advantages away of families that operate on a completely different level than 'half assed, with no consideration towards future planning'. Continuity of family should be done with planning and purpose, not a catch all feature without nuances designed just to keep the seat warm for the inevitable return. --- I don't think forcing users to join a person they didn't sign up for is a good thing. --- How often are CLs shot where the hands live? More often than not, wouldn't this just ensure that hands are nuked to ensure that the person they just shot isn't back in power in the time it takes to reroll a new character, reclaiming their de facto leadership spot? --- I have no problem with the HQ and forts being passed available to be claimed at no cost by a hand via a pre-existing property transfer that executes upon death of the CL. But as far as the members, it would take a lot of work addressing some of the bigger concerns I have about this. |

Squishy already hit on the main thing I was going to point out. Not everyone joins a family for the hands or other members, sometimes it is just for the leader themselves and they should not be forced to go along for the ride with someone they did not choose to join. |

Rerolling a character to reclaim happens more often than not anyway.... |

Absolutely no thank you, unless we get an option to turn off being turned into a hand by a CL in user preferences. |
