The dust has settled, the large piles of boxes have dwindled to a smattering of unsorted garbage and yard sale items and the front rooms finally look like people who give a shit have been giving even more of a shit lately. That's right, Kittie has re-discovered her typewriter in the midst of all of this and is going to be holding a writing contest- Oh wait, that's this post? Carry on! 

Back to School* time for some of you, back to the grind for others, that means Summer is coming to a close, even if the temps don't quite tell that story yet.  This is going to be a quick contest, so don't whip out the Shakespeare. (Well, don't do that anyhow, our script checker will get you.) But there will be some nice prizes and participation prizes.  I used to list the prizes but I got less people entering so this time they will al just be VERY nice surprises! 

Please post a short story in the streets about the end of something.  The summer, a workplace, a situationship, anything like that.  Make it funny, make it poignant, as long as the phrase "everything ends." is in there somewhere.  I do actually read these btw, so if you're entering, please put in some effort.  

Contest will run for five days so until the 18th, game time. There is no actual time to get it in by as long as it's posted by the 18th of August, 2026. Judging will not be immediate** But should be accomplished before the weekend of next week. 

Have fun, write well and embrace the season of change! (But not too tightly, it's still 100º+ out there (37.7º+))

*I am aware that schools located outside of America, and in some states, school doesn't start until Labor Day, (in America) that is sadly, not the case here. 

** Judging seldom happens immediately for health reasons. Please be patient.
