What is your best occupation you have done in your entire live 

Best? I don't know about that. There was enough shittiness in all of them to try to pick a favorite. There were certainly interesting things about every job I ever had, though. I started out in the restaurant industry at the age of 16 as a dishwasher. That was probably the most low-expectation, laid back job ever. As long as you got the work done, nobody cared what else was happening over there.  Eventually, still in the restaurant industry, I moved out to the dining room to make some decent money.  First as a busboy, later as a server, bartender, and manager. It was fast paced and you had to put up with a lot of people's bullshit. You also met some really cool people and had experiences to last a lifetime. As a server over the years I waited on LeBron James, Henry Rollins, and, best of all, the old guy in the Grey Poupon commercials who said "Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?". That guy was a total hoot.

Deciding I didn't want to work in the hospitality industry forever, I went back to college at the age of 28 and stayed far longer than I intended. Fast forward to age 39, I graduated from law school and became a lawyer. As a lawyer I have had some very rewarding work. I had an old grandmother cry and hug me after I saved her home that had been in her family for a century. I helped decent people who made minor fuck ups get off without having their lives ruined for one mistake. I occasionally volunteer my services to people who are being taken advantage of by more powerful adversaries and do not have the means to defend themselves. For example, an HOA that suddenly wanted a friend to remove an existing structure that was never a problem until the new HOA Pres. was elected. The law was definitely not on their side and I made sure they knew it. Without my help, my friend would not have been able to fight and and would have been forced to comply. Stuff like that always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.  The downside is that the demands and liabilities of legal work are very stressful. If you fuck up, you don't get fired from a job (well, that can happen, too). You get DISBARRED. Meaning, you cannot ever work in your field again. Time to go back to waiting on tables or serving drunks. That's a lot of stress.

This story is extraordinary and shows that you are a unique person who rises to the challenge. As a lawyer, the nature of the work in this field is nothing like that in the hospitality industry. As a lawyer, you have an impact on people’s lives and futures, which is a true professional calling. I appreciate that you’ve been working in the hospitality industry since you were sixteen, but from my perspective, being a lawyer is a better path than returning to work as a waiter or even a manager. 

i wouldnt call it an occupation but more of a volunteer with some benefits. back when i was in high school a company called all sport took over a huge convention center with all kinds of sports themed games, we got to miss a few days of school if we volunteered and ate at the food court for free, plus when our time was over for the day we got to stick around with out having to pay for anything. it was fun missing school and then getting to stick around after to play all the games.

Trolley boy at Sainsbury’s. Get to work outdoors on your feet, allowed to eat anything you find left over in the trolleys at the end of the day and 1.5x pay on Sundays.
