As I made my way out of the Chevy, I adjusted my dress. I was standing across the street from Octavius's new club. I looked at it with excitement. I recalled the first night it opened. When my original Boss John Dutton approached the club with his security detail in tow. I had heard word of some shaking up that would be done in the organization. The Boss was fresh from taking over as the new Godfather. Octavius was doing well too! I wondered where I would fit in this new framework. I was new in town, but excited with my progress so far. Being new was the key to my joining up with Octavius new crew, once I had permission to go. I remember the meeting that night. John Dutton stepped out of the club with a step that meant his evening was only just beginning. I didn't interrupt as I already had his approval to relocate. Confident I could grow with the new family crew forming. It was a quick horn tap that brought me back to the present. From the corner of my vision I noticed a thug lurking in the nearby alley. I thought to myself, "yeah let that fool try." I was packing now! My purse heavy with my loaded metal, my thigh strapped and a blade in my boots. I would not go down easily. My bodyguards stepped up close at hand. Tonight was special! I was coming to celebrate my new position as Capo. Octavius was impressed with my sharp skills and my ambitious efforts to perform. I would drowned my Vegas losses of today with a few strong drinks. Tomorrow would be another day I could assault with my intense passion to hustle in New York! As I entered the club, I quickly spotted Octavius up on the mezzanine, smiling with a fresh drink in hand. Around the joint I saw the firmilar faces of the whole crew. Not a Durden in sight! I made my way across the floor to join in the celebration. Time to let the booze flow in time along with the music. Tonight would be great! By the end of the evening I was saying"looking forward to CapOtober..." |
