Tornado I named the dog I acquired from Luccini at the Swag stand. I was used to handling big dogs back home so I was up to the challenge. The dog was sturdy and seemed to be glued to my side once I feed him a good meal. No longer would he rule over a kingdom of scrap metal. No I could use a good, loyal dog in my line of work.Especially after hearing about the wild and crazy Durdens that regularly came around. The Durdens I knew very little about but I intended to find out. No one seemed to know much about these Durdens, only that they were a recurring enemy. You could kill them burying them 6' down yet they magic returnrd. My grandfather taught me there's no such thing as magic only undiscovered facts. I would get to the bottom of this truth. I witness this wild crew of Durdens attack the headquarters of my family. I helped back them off the wall and chased them from the gate. We successfully beat back the boar hunt of Durdens. But still the nagging questions remained. The only clue I had to work with was the fact they came from Delaware. I decided to check this Delaware gang out for myself. Armed with only Tornado by my side and some handle tools and a flashlight I was ready. I worn dark clothes to hide in the darkness on this quest. I made my way to Delaware in an old beat up truck rather than take my flashy car. I would try to blend in with my sleathy skills. If not Tornado had a healthy bite. I planned to learn everything I could about this Tyler Durden and his crew of regenerating fighters. I knew it wasn't possible for the dead to rise again. Yet repeatedly he emerged from the darkness to reek havoc in NY. So if he wasn't a zombie, than what was the story. There had to be an answer for this unconventional gang of thugs. The first trip to Durdenville left me empty handed. I returned several more times. Some of those visits I had my crew of bodyguards tag along. I managed to acquire some clothes they used and I felt it would help me blend in more. I ran into a few of them and managed to pass the test. Or at least I believe I did. Finally a breakthrough came when I stumbled on what I thought was the Durdens headquarters. It turned out to be a basement Fight Club. I supposed this was where they trained for their incursions in my city on a regular bases. It still didn't solve the mystery of regeneration. But I could see how they tested each other in battle. I almost got pulled into the crowd fighting in the streets at one point. I was lucky to escape via a tunnel. I followed the path rather than risk staying near the brawl. I was determined to get to truth. But rats running past my feet made my vigorous efforts waver slightly. Ugh the things I find myself doing. Then I hit on my first major discovery. I found an abandoned warehouse that might have served as their home base. There were storage rooms, an office with empty file cabinets covered in dust. On one wall was a bulletin board. Moving closer I saw newspaper clippings with a timeline of dates and attacks. While inside the office, looking in the file cabinets with squeaky draws, I heard a sound of glass crunching under feet. Of course the one night I came alone. I ducked under the abandoned desk to hide. Someone was inside the building. I wasn't sure if it was a patrol or just random thug lurking about. But I didn't want to confront whoever it was head on without backup. Minutes seemed like hours ticking on the clock. The door handle rattled as someone entered with a flashlight cutting through the darkness. I was relieved once the door shut again with a tight slam. I waited under the desk for what seemed like ages my legs growing numb with effort to stay hidden. The thought ran through my mind I'm not even getting paid for this when I could be off making easy money. I was almost lulled into sleep when I fell out from under the desk. Fortunately, I heard no rushing feet. It was then I saw a folder peaking out from under a bookshelf. I saw it by the moonlight that pierced the darkness of the room. I slided over to it and grabbed the folder. A note slide out that referenced a connection to Squishy and Thalia. For a moment my heart stopped. There wasn't much in the folder and it was labeled project spawning operations. It contained papers in a code I couldn't read. But not many pages. I gathered up what few papers I found inside the office and scraps in the file cabinets. Then I tucked them away and head for home to review the various scraps of pages later. Upon leaving I looked around the large warehouse noting a huge amount of chains anchored to the walls and ceiling with framework where something heavy once sat in the center of the concrete floor. Whatever had been here was clearly gone now. They must have it at some new facility. After some rest I would be back on this journey of truth. |

After returning from the Durdens abandoned warehouse I sent a team of bodyguards to visit the sight in the daylight. I put together a crew of Pavlo26, Sebastian26, Hiro26, zda3baby26 and Chucky as they were among my best. I already had them doing Durden raids successfully. Pavlo26 was placed in charge as he is my best Bodyguard. The team was to take photos, gather any lose paperwork left behind or grab anything unusual. While I waited for their return from the mission, I laid out the papers I gathered including a few bites of scraps. So my desk was covered in pages I had acquired. I had pages in some secret code. I would have to figure it out if I could. I noticed an odd notation. TNT was listed and crossed out and relisted. Where the Durdens considering the use of Dynamite in our city? I took a moment to feed Tornado and then walk him. He seemed well trained. I thought about his owner that lost him to date, but pushed it aside. The person let Tornado sleep outside in all kinds of weather and made poor choices. It took 3 baths to get him fully clean. I also removed some ticks and noticed a few scars. Upon returning I found my door ajar. Looking around quickly for whoever may have existed but finding nothing. Inside it looked like someone moved the papers searching. I gathered them up not sure if any were missing. Then I secured them from further intrusive behavior. Until my bodyguards returned I would give this a rest. I had business to attend to and a Boss waiting for results. I would leave Tornado in charge of security at my place. Let him bite the next person sly enough to think they can rob me. |
