It all started when I first came to America from Sicily, I was a young lad and I wasn't even able to walk yet, but I can still remember. My father named me Hashman after himself Hashbrownie. He and my mother came to America for opportunity and making the money, he had to support my mother , my two brothers, w00t and w00tage along with me. To bad it didn't turn out like he suspected.. THE BEGINNING...... My father wasn't successful in the beginning working for a flower shop barely making 10 cents a hour. He then came upon a man one day in a coffee shop, sitting in a booth, a man walked up to him and sat down opposite him, as if metaphorically speaking he wanted to be equal. The man introduced himself as the local Don, he called himself Skulls. For two hours they talked about what my father was doing now, and if he was interested in a well paying job with a long line. Knowing my father he declined seeing that he didn't want anything to do with the Crime Syndicate. The man told him to think about the offer, he told him it still stood, and gave him a brick of cash to help him along his way. Now my father thought about this for a long time, and still thought it was a bad idea, so he went home put the money in his safe and went to work. Two Weeks Later..... It has know been two weeks since my father talked to the man in the diner, and he kept thinking about it just waiting for fait to decide for him whether or not he will become a Mafioso. His boss came too him in mid-thought, and told him that he couldn't work, seeing as business was going down hill seeing as the local Godfather was taking more and more protection money each week, he said that he wouldn't be able to pay him anymore and left it at that. My father knew that either way he would be bound to take the offer of the don. He came home that day and told my mother of what happened in the coffee shop and how he was laid off, she decided that it would be best if they didn't explain this to there children and to keep it a secret... 5 Years Later..... My father was doing very well for himself and my family, by know me and my brothers knew about what my father was up too, but they didn't explain it to us. I figured it out one day when I was lookin for my fathers stash of money, and found a .45 in his dresser, along with a chain saying SKULLS..... I didn't know what it meant at the time but found it out from my friends who only explained to me that he was a POWERFUL man. My father was in this buissnes for many years know and he was doing good, but there is one day that I won't forget ever, I was playin ball in a alley behind my mothers bakery, when all of a sudden I heard a gun shot, I looked around the corner and saw my father with ten other men shooting at 3 men, the 10 men fighting with my father were brutally injured and some dead, and the three men were shot to death, I ran to my father who was badly bleeding from the arm, he told me it was going to be alright, I didn't believe him... 2 Years later...... My father new some old friends back in skulls family and joined there newly appointed family. His newest CL was DaKine, a good man who he always had over the house. He was making good money, and had his friends over for poker and drinks pretty much every night, his friends were nice, I remember johndillanger, Corleone_Jr, Britt, and many others. But when August 4th came around it was a day I will never forget, I was walking home from the ice cream parlor with my friends, when my mother came up to me in her car yelling at me to get in, she was covered in blood but it wasn't her blood, we went to the hospital and it seemed to be packed, I saw johndillanger, Corleone_JR, and even Britt injured in separate beds but the next cite that I saw was horrifying, I saw my father all gauzed up in his torso area, I looked at him dead in the Eye, and asked him why. And with his last gasping breath, he pulled my hands toward him and took out his Dog Tag from his neck and gave it to me. And at that very moment I heard the machine flat line, I still couldn't believe it today, but my father was dead. Later on that day I took the gold chain out of my pocket and and on one side it said Pit Bulls, and on the other it said Hashbrownie Made Man... My brothers... Both of my brothers went into the mob when they were young, and were doing good, they were named w00t and w00tage bith twins and both proud of it. I also remember the day they died, but they died for a cause and were proud to serve there times as Mafioso's... Seeing as I was the only one left my mother demanded that I shouldn't become one because she didn't want me to have a fait that my brothers and father had.... My journey... I knew that I was going to become a mafioso, one way or another. It began one morning when I was fifteen, this is how it went down.... ******Blinking, you see the morning sun filtering in through the open door of your room. The dor that you'd shut and locked the previous night. Shutting your eyes again, your hand slowly creeps towards the gun hidden under your pillow, but you find nothing there. Resigning yourself to your fate, you sit up in your bed to find a finely dressed man seated in front of your bed, flanked by two gigantic bodyguards. The seated man seems calm, though he dangles your gun in front of you with a practiced grip. "Sorry, son. Didn't mean to borrow your piece without asking, but I didn't want you to get jumpy and give me an unwelcome surprise. Relax. If I wanted you dead, you'd already be swimming with the fishes. This is a business talk. I hear that you've been quite active around town today, hoping to become a part of this thing of ours. Is this true?" Intimidated, but curious, you narrow your eyes and nod slowly. "Well you'll need some help then, son. Take a look at this note. It's a list of all the families that are currently operating. You find yourself one of those fast, son, or you're going to find yourself wearing cement shoes." You extend your hand to take the Note from the man and open it up. "You're going to have to impress them, you know. Any idiot these days who wants to make some quick cash can find a place to work. But they'll die just as quickly and probably without anyone noticing. You could be better than that, son. Tell them who you are and what you can do for them. They're not in this for fun, you know. Show them you have what it takes to make it here. Unless you can't make it. Then I wouldn't waste their time. You open your mouth to protest, with a dozen questions hanging on your lips. Before any of them can escape, the man continues to talk. "Don't talk, son. You can talk once you've done something with yourself. Until then, listen. Once you have gotten into one of these families you will need to start earning for them, to show them you're not just some bum. You can accomplish this by committing crimes and dealing drugs. And that's all we're going to say about that." The man stops talking for a moment, as the sound of police sirens echo through the room. With a sigh, the man gets to his feet and motions to his bodyguards. "It must be that damn Lieutenant looking for me again. I've got to run, son. If you need any more help, I'm sure the answer's in here. " The man passes you a large and very old book:. "Take a long look at that book, son. Not in any library in the world, but it'll be one of the most valuable books you ever pick up. It explains a lot about our world, and you'd be a fool to ignore it. Anyways, I've got an appointment. Take care, kid." You watch the man leave just as silently as he had entered, the two massive henchmen following him closely. You look down at the note on the table and the book in your hands, confident that you have the knowledge you need to succeed. Rorschach stops in his tracks as he listens to the story. Interesting story, sir. I just had a weird sense of deja vu as I listened to the latter half of your story. It's almost like my family has heard it before, verbatim. It just doesn't seem to click with the rest of your story. Weird, huh? Regardless, I appreciate any man coming out to the street to try to entertain and enlighten- thank you for that. |

Sam_Rothstein listens to Hashman with great curiosity, then as his story comes to an end approaches Hashman and speaks... I thank you for sharing such knowledge of your familys past. It's seems you have an interesting future ahead of you and alot to live up to, although based on such knowledge you have gathered from your fallen family, you will do well with the right attitude. Call this a day of celebrations, for this be the day of a long and happy life as a successful mafioso for the both of us, as I also intend to carry on my fathers way of life from this day on. Sam_Rothstein reaches out his hand in order to show his respects for Hashman, lights up a cigarette and returns to business |

You know what's really sad? When the children and grandchildren of those in our world that have passed insist upon bringing up things of the past that obviously no one else cares about... It's a desperate attempt at attention seeking. She smiles sweetly. |
